Melanie Palen: Our server forgot we were there after we received our food so she just never came back to check on us or give us the bill. The food took forever to come out. We were about to just leave when our food finally arrived.
C Richmond: They are all very hard workers and do a fantastic job! 10/10!
A. Tatara: Delicious! We had the vegetarian and meat lovers "off the griddle" - eggs, hash browns, and cheese, with additional meat or veggies, like a scramble - and Texas toast. The scrambles were fantastic, the toast was just right (not burned!) and I really liked the seasoning of the sausage gravy. We just happened to come across this place while looking for somewhere to have breakfast, and I'm sure we'll return.
Russell Franke: I love this place. Great food and service. If you time it right, you can listen to the cook sing classic R&B songs, which is a bonus in my book. Yes it's old looking in here, but that is perfect in my book.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More

It was a nice attention.Kid-friendliness: The music there is nice and not offensive. My toddler started dancing on his way out after breakfast.

Elizabeth Mestelle: 10 Stars if 10 were an option. We parked right outside on a beautiful day! The hostess seated us immediately in a sunny spacious dining room with lots of room between tables. Our waitress Keisha was very attentive without being pushy. The huge menu offered a choice of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and small plates. The hardest part was selecting what we wanted. My guest was very pleased with her choice of a cup of asparagus bisque and the Kickin' Pastrami sandwich. I chose the Wet Breakfast Burrito! The rosemary sausage gravy generously served over the delicious burrito of eggs, bacon, hash browns, peppers, and onions was beyond superb! To top it off, my friend's birthday entitled her to a fabulous complementary dessert. She chose the bread pudding soaked in a caramel syrup and topped with real whipped cream. Wise Keisha brought it with two spoons so we could share! We love Soup Spoon Cafe!Vegetarian options: So many options! And they all are delicious.Kid-friendliness: A nice restaurant to teach kids how to enjoy good food in a wonderful atmosphere without being stuffyParking: Michigan Avenue has parallel parking. The restaurant also has a lot adjacent to the building with many parking spaces.Wheelchair accessibility: Lots of space between tablesDietary restrictions: Can special order anything on the menu to meet your needs.

Jessica WADE: Food: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Michael Simmons: Hey Doug! No, I don’t really know you, but our waitperson was Ginger and she told me you own People’s Kitchen. Thought I’d personalize this review! Just had breakfast with my beautiful partner and we agree this was an excellent meal! We had the pancakes and Still Ain’t Broke. Eggs made perfectly and that lemon butter on the cakes was amazing. Sausage was also very tasty.Oh, and the coffee was the best! And, and Ginger was very friendly and provided all the answers we needed in making our selections and she kept the coffee flowing. Thanks!
N M: This was an experience. A very artsy relaxed feeling upon entering. I loved how happy and friendly the staff was. My whole family was in love with each dish. I recommend everything as we pretty much ordered one of each thing on the brunch menu. My family wants to come back to try the dinner.
Catherine Caswell: Mother's day brunch was worth the wait. Omg shrimp and grits was perfect. 9 in our party and everyone's plate were just beautiful.Wheelchair accessibility: Only good if you can hold it lol
Israel Conerly: There is 1 vegan option for brunch and lunch. Stop recommending this as a vegan restaurant 😂 the restaurant said it hasn't had good options in a long time.Vegetarian options: One option
Pietro Spiga: Very nice patio and chill vibe. Good very tasty.

Kristy Jackson: I have lived in Lansing all my life and The Peoples Kitchen is the only real option for a good atmosphere, mimosas and great food and it’s not cold or too hot just good time. Waiter has been cute the last two times I went too so the views ain’t bad either lol!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Parking space Plenty of parking Parking options Free parking lot …More
Hailey: Great and friendly staff. We had to wait about 10 mins for a table of 4 on a Saturday morning, but they did estimate about 30 mins. They do not have gluten-free bread or batter. I wasn't a fan of the breakfast potatoes, they reminded me of a Thanksgiving meal, lol. But my friends like them. Overall, cool place!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
RG Harden: Attended the wine dinner and they did a great job pairing the entry with each wine. Also go to PC for dinner and have never been disappointed.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Etta Abrahams: The most wonderful expansion of the East side of Lansing for me has been The People’s Kitchen. It’s atmosphere has a lovely grittiness about it and one feels entirely at home in whatever one chooses to wear—dress, denim or drag. But most important are the food, wine and service. Whether for brunch, lunch or dinner, in small or larger groups, every morsel I’ve eaten and sip I’ve imbibed has been transportative. The servers are prompt, knowledgeable and attentive. The chef changes the menu seasonall it seems. Yes, prices are up there, but the experience is worth it. Not fit for a glutton but for those who appreciate reasonably sized portions of finely prepared foods.Be sure to try one of their special wine tasting or beer tasting dinners!Parking: Lots of parking behind and across the street.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp to restaurant.
Justin Kirkpatrick: Hands down the best restaurant in the area. Haven’t had a bad dish ever, and I often bring out of town guests for dinner. Cocktails are always inventive and fresh. Highly highly recommend.
Mandy Dittmer: Some of the best food in Lansing! Love their pancakes and chicken sandwiches among other things…just an excellent establishment that you must try!
Kyle Parkllan: The food tasted great, and the service and atmosphere was very cool. I would recommend looking at the menu beforehand, as the prices and entrees have changed (understandable) since the last time we visited. Two separate parties were seated next to us and left after looking at the menu claiming they couldn't addord it. The server was so kind and did provide some local recommendations which I'm sure helped what was likely an uncomfortable feeling. We ordered two entrees, no drinks, apps or desert and it was $87 before tip. Unfortunately the portion sizes left us hungry.I'm not saying there's anything wrong with what they charge, but the dinner service seemed to target the high end/specialty dining experience.
Heaven Lee: This place was really good! A bit overpriced, but the vibes are real fun. I got the really fu%#ing good pancakes which were the second best pancakes I've ever had and my fiance got the shrimp and grits which he is still obsessing over days later. The raspberry Daiquiri was not very good, but our mimosas were amazing.Edit in response to the owners feedback: I gave 4 stars for a variety of reasons I did not include because I didn't want my review to deter other customers.I'm personally a vegetarian, I ordered what I did because it was the only thing I saw on the menu that could accommodate to my dietary restrictions. I would love to see the menu be as inclusive as the environment. While our server was super friendly, we barely saw her. I wish she would have stopped at our table one more time to make sure we were doing okay. But it was super busy and I've worked in the service industry so I totally get it, and do not hold anything against our server. But also coming from the food service industry, I was more than alarmed when I saw another server in a different section violate numerous health code violations including handling food with bare hands, not having her hair secured, handling dirty dishes then immediately handling plates that just came from the kitchen without even washing her hands.I also was not a fan of the raspberry Daiquiri because it was not a traditional Daiquiri as I was expecting and it was strong. Not sure if the measurements were off or something, but the flavors were fighting with each other. But that is just my preference, I'm sure someone else would like it.
Jenna Walther: Our server said our charcuterie board would serve 4-6 people. I was kind of surprised when we got it. It was very little, yet costly. I'd say more like 1-2 people. Unfortunately we left hungry, but unique place and the employees were very nice.Food: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Yukialove Winston: The People’s Kitchen has amazing food, you have to go at the right time to get amazing service. Biscuits to go is a bad idea lol Especially during busy brunch. I was told that I would have to wait an hour for that to go order. I said I could wait however I expressed my concern about my food being hot when I received it and the gentleman reassured me that it would be. I proceeded to take my lunch break and run errands. I got a call 15 minutes later (that I missed) and a message “sorry for the incorrect estimated pick up, your food is ready, you can come now if I wanted it to be hot.” I was already doing something else based on the time estimate I was given. When I arrived at the restaurant, the gentleman had trouble with taking my payment, as well as didn’t want to check my rewards. He kept entering the information incorrectly. He seemed to be rushed, and a little flustered with the busyness. After attempting several times, he went and got a different machine because he said his was malfunctioning. My food was cold, my biscuits were soggy and It defeated the whole purpose. The experience and food was disheartening.

C M: Great service, wonderful staff. Not my favorite in terms of atmosphere and the food was ok! We got Your Way Pancakes and a Your Way Omelette as well as the Hippie Bowl. Would not recommend the Hippie bowl, at least not with the walnuts.
Glenn Charles: Just had the worst ever experience at this place thanks to a waitress named "Justice". We didn't even get a chance to order our food. She brought two glasses of ice water and when we asked for water without ice, she snatched the glasses away in a huff and went from 0-100 in a millisecond. Did not realize it's not ok to have a preference for what we consume! If you like being treated like the waitress does not want you to be there, ask for Justice.
Jennifer Millbauer: Nice brunch spot. Service could have been a little faster but they were very friendly. Only complaint is it kinda smelled like a port-a-potty in there? Not sure if that's because of construction or what but not exactly what you want to smell while you're eating.Dietary restrictions accommodated Vegetarian Recommendation for vegetarians Not sure Vegetarian offerings Clearly labeled vegetarian dishes …More

I got their build your own sandwich on a croissant and the only reason I'm giving a four star is because the croissant fell apart before I even bit into it so it made it hard to eat. The server mentioned the croissants are made in house and you can tell, it was perfectly flaky and delicious. Service was fast and very friendly! Will be back for sure🙂

Fidlers on the Grand Restaurant: what do users think?
D S: Edit: Prayers for this family. I hope they're able to recover and reopen. They will have the entire cities support. But if they don't it would be understandable and still glad to have experienced them.
Luis Velasquez: One of the best places for breakfast!! Mark is an awesome guy. Makes you feel welcomed.
Barbara Neilly: I’m especially sensitive to the bitter taste of expired/old baking powder- no worries here, the biscuits were clearly fresh and made homemade with fresh ingredients. Delightful!
Thomas Castellanos: The homemade flavor shines through! The sausage was tender, tasted fresh, and was spiced just right.
Adam Brooks: My favorite restaurant in the world. Everything is made with passion and love

Walt Reynolds: Every time I have gone to Fiddler on the Grand not only is the food amazing, but the owners are great. They greet us and come around wanting to make sure everything is good. This is so nice getting unique entrees, great cinnamon buns, and truly great service. I only with they could clone themselves and open more places.

Nancy Lansing: First visit in years. Fab owners, a fork above many options in the city. Flavorable twist on breakfast options. Quality. Fresh. Fast. Teaching youngsters about service/waitstaff, bonus. Too noisy with music blaring, but that's part of the experience. Dine and get on with your day quickly as patrons are VERY polite to those waiting to be seated. Will return.Parking: City needs to step up and fix sewer, drainage. It's always been a issue there, that corner has standing water for years.
Brian Goulet: Small, hole in the wall dinner. The people who work there are super friendly and love what they do. Lots of fun and great to support a local mom and pops restaurant.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Outstanding atmosphere, super friendly staff, DELICIOUS food! The sausage gravy and biscuits were dynamite…and I’m picky about my SGB!! And the homemade cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting was out-of-this-world!! Absolutely cannot wait to go back!!
Brooklyn Rhodes: As soon as we walked in it was fairly packed and we were a party of four so we weren’t too hopeful on how soon we’d be seated and eating BUT I can’t even tell you how comforting, welcoming and loving this place is!! The lovely man at the front was telling us to make ourselves at home and to get comfy, he gave us our drink cups, we got our drinks, and waited for not even 3 minutes and we’re immediately taken to the table. We were given the AMAZING cinnamon roll we ordered almost right away after sitting down. We also found some cards to play with while we waited a total of FIVE MINUTES and it was amazinggg! I really recommend this place!Vegetarian options: Salads and thingsKid-friendliness: Very appropriate, happy communityDietary restrictions: Vegan, vegetarian
