Chùa Vạn Hạnh: what do users think?
Vishnu Das Sivananda: The Vietnamese community is awesome and there are visiting monastics, a children's program and learning Vietnamese language. The community is very tight knit, but also respectful towards strangers and kind. The American group which meets Wednesdays lacks adequate higher leadership and is more focused on a widow, Carolyn White, and her dead husband (Winston Wilkinson, deceased early Oct 2010) than Buddhism in the end, but some non-leaders are very kind. Carolyn, via heresay, impersonates monastics and tries wedging herself between sangha members and monastics, her and her husband also have some weird food habits, rather than eating mindfully what one needs, she tried making others feel guilty for eating regular food amounts. When reading a section about physically intimate moderation and chastity, she would not allow me reading the chaste part in support and aspiration of monastic life, for example. Very demeaning. If you go to the American group despite my suggestion, be sure to speak your mind right away.Try making friends with the Vietnamese and visit the VIetnamese temple near College Road, too, where they have an American group which meets sometimes, also, and is kindly run.At both temples, the Vietnamese have awesome food, but don't let it distract you from meditation and dhamma 🙏🏽
PHO 26: Amazing place, very nice Temple...
Dave Runyon: Buddhist Temple. a nice place to repose and meditate. Took a retreat here, very cool. once in the door you are family.

Paul DeZwaan: If you seek peace, you can find it here.
Kevin Blackhurst: Very good
Wesley Myrick: Great place to go if you want to learn about Buddhism they teach Thai Buddhism which is slightly different than most people in America think the monks have been ordained in Thailand the head monk is a great person we'll talk with you and answer any question you have if you are a beginner to Buddhism I would highly recommend starting here and learn the traditional Buddhism teachings
Sama Wickramanayake: Nice and peaceful place... kind people.
Dude dude: Very rude, dismissive, and uncanny. Will not be returning. Seemed to lack understanding mindfulness as well as thinking of others opinions and feelings. Again, will not be returning
姚贤莉Jasmine: It is a Thai temple. Monks are American who are able to explain Buddhism in English. Every Saturday the Monk talk is held. Great peaceful place to go.
Joy C.: Peaceful and monks can explain in English. Focus on meditation
