Kimberldcpwsdwwozowfwy Webster: Today we laid my beautiful mother-in-law to rest. The staff at Mt. Hope, in particular Ms. Dionne, was so kind to my family. She treated us like we were her family. The kindness, professionalism and patience they bestowed on our family was appreciated and we thank you. Losing a loved one is never easy but when you do, having a place like Mt. Hope to help you during the transition makes things so much easier.

Paula Hoeft: Well kept grounds, varied headstones, more than a few obelisk. Some parts of roadways need repair. A bathroom would be nice.

Kara Grace: Beautiful, peaceful place of rest. I like to park and walk into the woods at hawk island through the cemetery in the spring and often see deer and other wildlife. Very serene.

Michelle McDonald Vlastnik: This place is full of beautiful trees. We saw 14 deer walking through the grounds. Several of the head-stones have been moved and people need to stop doing that.

Kimmy M: I have driven by many times, but I have now gotten the chance to take a walk through. It is a very well kept space with lots of Lansing history. It was very peaceful and surprisingly hilly for how flat Lansing is. There is a beautiful overlook of the Grand River and the river trail along side it. I would recommend this spot for an evening stroll.

Jess: It might sound a little odd, but I live close to the river trail and like to take morning jogs or walks here. It makes for a nice, clean and quiet place to get some fresh air and exercise. Sometimes I bring a flower or two for some of the much older gravestones.

And on labor day weekend I went in to visit him cause he is a veteran and I noticed his stone was sinking into the ground a day later I went in to put in a work order to have it brought up to level ground. Lets just say I have know put in 3 work orders since then and here it is November and it still has not been done. This place does not take care of graves very well when being asked to do something I am not happy that had to put 3 work orders to get this done and its still not done so I man need tonout another order

Electra Nicolaou: OMG! Mom died October 27, 2021. Burial November 5, 2021. The cemetery said the grave should be cleaned up after two weeks of burial. Fast forward five months. The site was not cleaned. I called the office got an apology ( didn’t help, my sister cleaned the grave ) and was told that the stone was not ordered from 13 years ago. Fast forward, the stone is still not ordered and this is what the grave site looks of as today. Mind you the rest of the cemetery is well groomed. No Excuse for this! Totally unexpectable! Tom VanKuiken: Was at cemetery June 28 and was appalled at conditions! Roads were terribly maintained and my aunt and uncle's markers are sinking into the ground towards each other. People purchased these sites believing they would be well maintained, and they are not, disgraceful!

brad smith: When visiting my parents graves the markers are being overtaken by the grass on almost all the flat stones.We were there memorial day and not one veteran flag marker was out. Thankfully we had taken a flag to honor my father's service to his country. Why doesn't any service organization put flags out at this cemetery?There were several memorial benches that had been broken by the grounds keepers hitting them with the mowers...by going too fast?You need to do better and show our loved ones respect and get better grounds keepers.

Katrina Kaufman: My mother died August 25, 2021. Why on Mother’s Day 2022 have they still not installed her headstone? I was PROMISED it would be in by Mother’s Day. On May 3rd I was told the ground was still too wet, but they had placed it where it should be and would install ASAP. My first Mother’s Day without my mother and she doesn’t even have a grave marker. This is so UNACCEPTABLE.

Tim Wesolek: Extremely disappointed in the service provided by this company..My father had preplanned and paid for everything in advanced, but when we showed up nothing was ready for our visit. Had to spend time filling out paperwork and then the sales person asked us what our grave location was (he had the same paperwork we had!) When then traveled to the chapel on very poorly kept roads..full of pot holes..to the chapel. The grave was right next to chapel, and although the had it marked to be dug up no one had taken the time to clean off the leaves/snow from the marker.Run don't walk to another cemetery!

My parents had prepaid their grave sites yet for my moms funeral we had to have it on a Saturday because family came from four states and they charged us $900 for "Overtime!" The cemetery manager came to the gravesite services to have me sign the bill instead of calling me later, and also they used an old door for plywood around the plot at the graveside service instead of buying new plywood...what an eyesore! Four months later and they still do not have her date on her headstone .

Ellie Tobey: I ordered and paid for our tomb stone in May 2018. My husband passed away on July 312, 2019. They had not ordered the stone and couldn't get it up for his funeral. I called on Aug. 21, 2019, no stone! I called in Sept., no stone, I just called yesterday, no response when they said they would call back!! I believe they are cheating more people than just me!!

Martin Sell: Some work still needs to happen before I will give it a 5 star. 1. They need more help finding lot pins to find what sections you are in. 2. I know that this is one of the oldest Cemetery in the Lansing area, but over time markers do get covered over by grass. This is one of the most important reasons to get more help working on the grounds to find the markers that are covered over. Also to find and replace the old lot pins to aid in finding someone's family members. Other than that, making sure that every family is told about what you can and can't do at the grave of your loved ones. If you just let them do whatever they want, then the beautifulness that makes up Deepdale will just be like any other cemetery, one big lawn of garbage. I hope that the owners get to read this. Because this may be where I'm thinking of placing my beloved wife and myself someday.

Theodore Kopulos: A bit of a rocky start getting the process started; certain staff no longer there. This place is truly beautiful so I persisted. I then met Larry who was kind, caring and one respectable person. Without hesitation he fixed all issues and I found out more from him in one day than weeks with the other.

I spent hours out there in tears scraping with my shoes to try to find him . I couldn’t! I made one call . Tony was so kind . As I cried to him on the phone, he reassured me he would check into it . He not only called me back with the great news …. He took a picture of the marker and texted it to me with some reference points for next time . Susan Tabor: This cemetery has really gone downhill. It used to be nice. My parents spent a lot of money to be laid to rest here. I called one week ahead to ask that the vase in my parent's marker be pulled up. It gets stuck from winter and mud and I am not strong enough to loosen it. A few years ago when I had this problem, Alex told me to call ahead and they would take care of it. I left 3 messages and no one returned my call. Someone finally answered the phone the 4th time I called. I was told the vase would be pulled up by the weekend. Yesterday I went to place flowers for Mother's Day and the vase was not pulled up. I went to the office to inquire. The young lady made up the same excuses I've been hearing for the past several years and I've heard them enough! She was not helpful or sympathetic at all, and told me they perform work orders in the order they come in! So why was I told the vase on my parent's marker would be ready for Mother's day? Different employees every year! There was no water in the barrels! No watering cans anymore. You have to take your own! The lawns are unkept. It is Mother's Day and Memorial Day is right around the corner!!! When do the owners plan to start taking better care of this cemetery ??? Once the sale is made, it seems they are no longer interested in assisting family members! I used to prearrange for a local funeral home and I would not advise ANYONE to choose this cemetery for their final resting place. For the amount of money they charge, it is practically a scam. I will be finding out who owns Chapel Hill cemetery now, and intend to make my complaints about how neglected it is. I come to the cemetery to honor my parents memory. It should be a peaceful time. I shouldn't have to go through this every year! Update: Received generic response from Stonemor regarding poor review, asking me to email them. Looks like they send the same response to everyone who writes a poor review. Update June 22, 2022. Went to place flowers for Father's Day and found vase still stuck, work order requested on Mother's Day has not been performed. Sent email to Stonemor (now owns cemetery) and received a response requesting more info which I provided.. Have not yet heard back from anyone. Update 6/22, problem has been resolved. Isn't it a shame it took a bad review to get a response! Update 6/23/22 Went out to place real flowers in honor of my Dad's birthday. Vase was up but liner was missing. Went to the office. Trevor was extremely helpful and friendly and contacted the maintenance man to get me a liner right away. Thank you Trevor! Flowers looked lovely on my parent's resting place. I have a suggestion for you Stonemor. Are you reading this? If you want Trevor to sell, then you should probably spend some money and do something about the lack of care in front of the entrance. If I were thinking of buying from Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Lansing, and saw this at the entrance, I would turn around and go somewhere else. Thistle weeds and empty planters are not a good look for a cemetery. 😣

Deanna Morgan Breedlove: My Husband was buried in this cemetery 10 years ago. I have been trying (since April) to contact somebody there about putting a grave marker on the grave. I have been promised on 3 different times that someone would call me at ab appointed time. The last one being today @ 1 pm. Trevor called me to let me know something came up & he would be about 20 minutes late. It is now after 2 pm & still no phone call.

Pam Gray: Communication is terrible here. No return phone calls. After going to Michigan from Florida to get some answers about my husband's vault it took over three hours in a office. Not once did they say I apologize for having to wait for unanswered phone calls or so much as a I'm sorry for you loss. After upsetting me and my husband's family I did say training is a big issue with this cemetery. Updating files is also desperately needed here.

Theresa Allen: My father passed away Feb 2021. I’m still waiting for the year he passed to be added to his headstone! I’ve called them and tried to see them on numerous occasions and no one is ever there. And I’ve never received a cal back. It’s like we’re still unsettled.

Penny Monroe: I am extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with the after care of my husbands final resting place. He was buried in mid January. In March we went to the grave to be with him for his Birthday and the dirt at his grave had settled so much their was at least a 3 inch depression at both ends and a large footprint in the middle of his grave. After our visit a few days later I went to the office and asked that they put more dirt in the gravesite. Then I went back a few weeks later to pay for the engraving on the stone. It still hadn’t been done I asked again they told me for the second time they would put in a work order. I stoped over the Monday before Memorial Day still nothing had been done I called again and talked to someone on the phone and told them I expected it to be done for the upcoming Memorial Day holiday. They again said they would put in a work order. I went on the Memorial Day holiday and this is what I saw now the depression is more like 5 inches below ground level on one side and at least 3 or 4 on the other. I talked to the savanna who was giving out flags to put on graves again for at least the 3rd time she is very nice but needs to be following thru to make sure these work orders have been taken care of.very disappointing

Mattie Love: At first it was rough with Chapel they were real unprofessional they would not answer phone calls no return them. They did not follow through with anything. However since under new management I have been in contact with Sam, he has answered all my calls, all my questions have been addressed. My order is all set and just waiting for delivery.

michelle derose: I'm very disappointed with this cemetery. I have several relatives buried here. A few months ago I asked for help fi ding one. NO help handed me a map. The areas are horrible to find..no markings. I left very sad and angry..I couldnt find them. I called monday and demanded a manager call me. He said call me I will meet you. Well I go back today hoping someone in the office can help..Hours were 10 to 2..got there at 12 noon the office was locked..stayed for 15ish mins..noone showed left a message still no return call. Still didnt find my family. And the grounds look terrible..grass very long..trees not trimmed. I will never bury anyone here again nor will I recommend you!!

Jana McCabe: I am extremely disappointed in the upkeep of this cemetery. Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens has had an impeccable reputation for decades. These passed few years, it has gone downhill. I recently brought flowers to my loved ones buried here and I was appalled at how unkept the grounds were. My husband and I had to back home to get our weed wackier, edger, leaf blower, and other items to unbury all (about 15) headstones from dirt and over growth. My great grandfathers head stone is buried so deep in this mess, we can’t find him. It’s complete disrespect for the deceased!. I am absolutely disgusted.

My Mom passed away April 21st 2018, and to say that I was an emotional mess, would be an understatement. I’ve been through this process before, but never without my Mom. Candis was with me every step of the way. From my Mom’s memorial service at the chapel, to the last piece of dirt being placed... Candis was always there. I’d also like it to be known, that my Mom’s service and burial were on Candis’s day off. She came in anyway, and made sure everything was done correctly. Pam Compson: Horrible. For over a year they were looking into my fathers headstone. It finally took the veterans to set it right with them and within six weeks we had the headstone. Now we are having the same problem with my mothers headstone. They are quick to take my money but we are going on seven months for moms headstone. And it is always someone else's fault. How sad. Get it together.
