P.S: From personal experience, this school truly could not treat students any worse. If someone's in trouble in middle school, it's an immediate call home 80% of the time along with a lunch detention and a write-up, even if it's something minor like talking in class. They don't help students succeed in the ways that are needed for them. Many of my classmates here (former or current) have asked to do things that help them focus or have done so themselves and gotten in trouble for them. Their first instinct is to punish children if they try to do anything outside of what's the material (I have been yelled at for doing work for other classes before) and when teachers harm students nothing is done about it. One of my elementary teachers here hit a child multiple times and when it was reported nobody did anything (I believe the teacher is still there). Not to mention how the middle school wing is a mess. They refuse to accommodate, one of the staff members (a man) forces people on their periods to tell them why they're out at their locker or in the bathroom for awhile. Not to mention how this school doesn't allow going to your locker during the day. If you forgot an important book?? Too bad. You forgot your medicine? Too bad. You forgot your lunch? Too bad. You need a pad? Go to the intimidating staff member that demands to know your business.This school preaches individuality and independence but doesn't even let the middle schoolers with different classes to walk to their own class by themselves. It's embarrassing.

Jr King: No leadership had the opportunity to work at the school briefly and the school has a high discipline rate and no action is taken. I don’t believe that the parents are happy and I know they aren’t being listened too.
Charman Todd: I am a former kindergarten teacher and my grandchildren are attending this school and this school needs to be investigated by the state. Rude staff. My grandson is in the 3rd grade an the teacher doesn't know what's going on with her students. There is inappropriate touching going and nothing was being done not once twice! As a educater myself this is totally not acceptable!!!

Anna James: If I could give a ZERO I would. My daughter had 5 different teachers in 1 yr. At one point the crossing gaurd was the teacher. The principal is beyond rude, and so unprofessional she treats u like she doesn't have time & doesn't care. Your NEVER allowed into the school not even to pick your child up or when taking them to school; idk about u but I'd like to see the room that my child spends all day in. My daughter fell yrs behind and actually left at a lower grade level then what she came in with. I yr at a new school and shes now at a 4th grade reading level and shes in the 3rd. PLEASE PLEASE DON'T TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE.. There was also a CPS investigation there were allegations of children performing oral sex acts on each other while in the classroom.. We're talking 3rd grade here..

Renée Right: Okay soooo I beeen going to school there since I was in 3 grade I finish school in 7 grade because I got bullied And they're so call no bully zone does not work I wrote the principles and dean's letters they never returned back to me I got death threats I almost got jumped and I got molested there and they didn't even bring the police into it they teach you what's on the test not about what schools really about I went to a new school and I didn't even know half of the stuff they were teaching The test scores look good in everything But it's really not Please go to a different school and if the test scores are not high enough the school not get paid Just saying warning the parents

Daniel B: I've had my children in several NHA schools. This is by far the worst. Unorganized and disrespectful. They do not allow children to us the bathroom when they need to. To the point that my seven-year-old peed himself. He doesn't have issues like that at home ever. They have also called us because they lost one or more of our children several times in the two short months they have been there. Only to find out they were with another teachet or the dean. Internal communication is terrible. I might have well as sent my children to Lansing schools.

Geoffre Trimble: Please, if your child has difficulty learning, do not consider this place. For special needs child, PLEASE NO.My child required a Para Pofessional for learning and this school would make her do other things. Including with the other the other children. They have difficulty following IEP, to say the least. The team working with my child (the key members) Vic principal and the special education teacher were very unprofeanal (kindergarten and 1st grade) and should not be with kids in my opinion. The special needs teacher would intentionally trigger my child I witnessed this first had several times during online learning. Also my son had a behavioral program and the VicP would be intentionally confrontational and not helpful. His solution to problems is send the the child home and he full of never-ending arrogance.These people caused more problems than they helped. Somhings wrong here. Icing was the Principle, she just wants to label children. His kindergarten teacher stopped talking to him at all, even when he said goodmorning.
Patricia Riley: New principal is a joke. Kids are bullied and they do nothing. My child had 6 different teachers last year, and now is up to 3 this year. The school said he has a hard time having new teachers all the time, but they are constantly changing teachers. 😂. Makes sense right?
Daniel Beach: The school has gone down hill since the new principal took over. He's a megalomaniac that micromanages everything in the school. How you can be an absolute dictator while simultaneously not controlling behavior of the students is beyond me.

Yet the school has done nothing…! The principal does nothing not even suspend the students. Should we as parents drop our kids to school and not feel we have to worry but schools like this makes me not way to take my child for the lack and disrespect on our family.

Joan Kulikowski: My grandson currently enrolled there.Their curriculum is over the students head. My grandson has not learned the basics yet they try to teach him things that he does not comprehend. Now my grandson has to go to summer school but that will be a detriment to him as well because he has to go 2 days a week for 2 hours because he is behind. This will be inconvenient to both parents and will tie him down for the summer as far as vacations etc. I feel we can work with him at home and accomplish what summer school will be able to do in the time spent at summer school.studentsy
Chrome: This place is my home school and will always be in my heart but there's so many fights that happen and drama between people that it's just boot learning ground for them.
Jim Finch: Many of the best teachers have left, due to belittling attitude of Ms. Thomas. After 5 years our Grandson left and is happier and doing better at Lansing School districts Gardner school.

Yeetles Beetles: It’s better than most public schools in terms of academics but this school is terrible. Any mistakes are the student’s fault by default, and they are very unprofessional when it comes to issues on a student by student basis. They preach creativity and the like, yet they cannot keep an art, music, or technology teacher for more than a year. They squash creativity on a daily basis in the classrooms, and the seventh grade teachers are very bad about this. The hallways are always smelly, and most eighth grade classrooms are as well.The school does have good diversity, so that is a plus, yet the positives I can think of are overweighted by the sad negatives.I’ve grown up at WPCA, so it hurts that I can’t write more positively about it.Would I recommend WPCA? No. Absolutely not.
Tamara Nash: Six grade teacher is not organized. We don't even get half of the information that should be sent home. If my daughter didn't have her friend's there since kindergarten I would pull her out. So done with this school

BB BB: Most of the teachers are descent. There is a fourth grade teacher who is just awful. She yells at the kids when they ask for help she has no control at all. The environment in her class is physically, mentally, and emotionally dangerous and confusing. The principle and dean are aware of the situation and do nothing but make empty promises to pacify parents for a short while. They've had specialists come in and evaluate the situation and still have done nothing. My husband and I had to remove our son from this school after walking into a situation with this teacher. If you value the safety of your child and their mental well being find a different school.
Kennedy Kocher-Markiw: this school will always have a place in my heart considering they saw me grow up until I was 12. I left for multiple reasons. The common core curriculum sucks, and if you turned in your homework the next day with a few not answered because you didn't get the question, It was your fault. More than HALF of the original teachers and students left, which obviously means you're doing something wrong. This school has given me wonderful friends that'll last a lifetime, and some of my favorite teachers. There's more, but I don't want to say things you don't wanna hear.

kat wagner: My grandson attended this school for over a year. Anything that went wrong was the childs fault. Teachers took no responsibility. Final straw was when she encouraged the other students to make fun of him which she participated in and admitted to. She called it discipline versus bullying. He is home schooled now and catching up in less than 2 semesters.While culturally diverse on the surface this school adheres to a DeVoes based belief system so don't expect encouragement to excel without a matching donation. And don't question.
Shigure’s Wife: Because today we had an ugly sweater contest and u didn't enter because if we just have to pay one dollar to participate that's dumb because we have jeans day every two weeks and if they need one dollar for us to wear jeans why can't they use that money for the contest that just proves how broke down this school really is because that shows that they are poor to the teachers leave the room touxh the middle school sounds like a whole crowd if people in tradition and the principal is plain rude this school should be shut down for good no second chances at all😠😠😬😠😬😬😠😬💩💩😜😛😜😛
