Au Bonheur des Enfants - French Immersion Daycare: what do users think?
ALLISON COMER: We have loved every second here ! Wonderful with the kids, comes to birthday parties for them and makes each kid feel welcome and special ! They are learning everyday and I am amazed at what my child is learning ! Merci !!
Laura LaMore: Hands down one of the best daycares in the Lansing area.Kadija and Saad are an organized, well-prepared, and caring team who have provided a consistent and nourishing environment for my two children for 2 years. They cook amazing, fresh foods for the kids, which range from about 6mo-5years. They are always getting the kids to try new foods, but remain hyper vigilant about any food allergies. They also try new activities with the kids and have daily French lessons. The kids have a set routine where they explore and learn with free play while also maintaining a structure for lessons and life skills (using cups or utensils, manners, potty training, hand washing). Kadija and Saad are extremely responsible, and provide dates a year in advanced of their scheduled vacation. They are also available via text or call any time if you want updates, pictures, or anything!I HIGHLY recommend Au Bonheur des Enfants for your childcare needs.
Kristen Mapes: Our daughter has been with Khadija and Saad for a year now, and we cannot overstate how much we appreciate them. They really care about her and take joy out of her personality and growth, and they aren't phased when she is having a tough day or a toddler rant. They educate all of the kids in a fun, clam, and natural way, so they learn but without any pressure. They go the extra mile to celebrate holidays and birthdays with the kids. Things are easy because we know that she is fed well and cared for (naps, toothbrush, etc) so we don't stress about needing to pack a bag each day, and we benefit from their focus on learning skills like picking up, using utensils, etc.
Yy W: My daughter really enjoyed her time at Au Bonheur des Enfant! Khadija and Saad took such good care of her. She learned a lot and became a happier and smarter girl.
Shohn Johnson: Our 2 year old daughter, Sophie, has attended Au Bonheur for about a year. Khadija and Saad run a very structured daycare with a focus on nutrition, learning, safety and most importantly - affection and love.Sophie has learned how to both interpret and speak limited French and enjoys showing off this skill every chance she gets. The kids have daily lessons learning the alphabet, counting, fine motor skills, etc. They also enjoy very nutritious, well-rounded, French-inspired meals each day. Outdoor time is frequent and weekly yoga lessons have recently been introduced. We often receive photos and videos of Sophie participating in activities or free play with her friends. Sophie has even named a doll after Khadija and totes her around at home.I cannot say enough good things about the care Khadija and Saad provide our child. Sophie has older siblings who attended two other Lansing area daycares and Au Bonheur is by far the best, all around. We are extremely grateful for the time our daughter has been able to spend at Au Bonheur des Enfants.
Daniel Selahi Durusoy: Our son has spent a year with Khadija and Saad and had a great experience. He started learning French in this daycare and progressed quickly, and this motivated me to start talking with him in French at home as well, making him a trilingual before age 3. We have been very pleased with the care he received, kind friends, healthy food, and great outdoors play area as well.
Theresa Metzmaker: Salmon, couscous, vegetables, fruit, veal, bulgur, and quiche. These are just some of the delicious meals that my toddler eats at her favorite place on earth, her daycare, Au Bonheur des Enfants. My daughter dances in her car seat when we pull up in the morning. When Saad opens the door, my daughter dances on the porch and exclaims in joy to be heading into her second home. I can not put into words how happy it makes me that my daughter can attend Au Bonheur des Enfants.Khadija is exceptional with the children, she cares about their health, development and well-being. Both Khadija and Saad are kind, caring, and wonderful caregivers. To be able to drop my daughter off at a place that is so warm, caring, and CLEAN is so comforting. I recently had a significant health scare and spent over a month in the hospital followed by a month in another city with my son in NICU. Through this time away from my daughter I was so grateful to know my daughter had the routine of going to Au Bonheur des Enfants and the knowledge that she was safe there and happy. To find a daycare that brings that kind of comfort is truly a blessing. Khadija and Saad are a blessing. One of the things that initially drew me to Au Bonheur des Enfants is they are a French immersion daycare. My daughter has been attending Au Bonheur des Enfants for a little under a year, and she understands so much French. I am grateful every day that we found Au Bonheur des Enfants and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a daycare.
Ryan S: We had the absolute pleasure of taking our daughter here when Khadija was just starting out. She was amazing. Plain and simple. If you are luck enough to get the chance to bring your child here you will not be sorry. I CANNOT recommend it enough. Not only do you receive superior childcare - healthy snacks and lunches - it is also a French immersion daycare. I wish her all the best and all the success in the world.
Matthew Raymond: 5 stars is no joke for this French Immersion Daycare. Au Bonheur des Enfants delivers a satisfactory experience in every single way, every single day.The food Khadija and Saad serve is not only communicated clearly to the parents, with a menu taped to their front door every week, but it is also always chock full of healthy recipes. Fresh fruits and vegetables are the norm. The space used by Au Bonheur des Enfants is wonderful. There is an entire backyard's worth of space that is available for the children to play when the weather is nice and a purpose-driven segmented space inside to handle the rotation of tasks during the day. Eating and sleeping upstairs, while the noisier play and bathroom spaces are downstairs. Perhaps my favorite aspect is that there are no screens; no TVs get used to keep children busy for a moment or anything. With how ubiquitous and easy it is to use even just a little bit of screen time to corral children it is a relief to know that no corners are cut when it comes to making sure the children are cared for properly. Our child's progression in picking up French has been phenomenal. What starts as a few basic greetings soon has them counting over 10, pointing out colors on their placemat, and even responding sometimes to a question in french; i.e. Mom: "Look at that!" Child: "*gasp* regardé!".Khadija and Saad also take the time to give you a personal moment with that child during the day. Occassionally we will receive a text message with a picture, a video, or just talking about a special moment that had happened. It's lovely to be able to get a view into your child's day while unable to be there with them. The peace of mind we get knowing our child is eating healthy food in a screen-free, compassionate, diverse, and educational environment from people who truly love and enjoy caring for children is priceless. I couldn't recommend applying to Au Bonheur des Enfants higher!
Ciera Trice: Khadija and Saad of Au Bonheur des Enfantes are angels on earth. We learned of this daycare, through a friend, after a poor experience with a local large chain daycare facility. From the initial tour, I felt at ease and confident about the care Khadija and Saad would provide to my little one. The home is immaculately clean, organized, safe, and child-friendly. I love that they rotate the toys every couple weeks, to keep things interesting for the kids and to not have too much around at once.Khadija has always been so kind to send photos, videos and updates, which was reassuring and comforting. My child has picked up the French language quickly, and is able to both understand and communicate simple phrases in French. We started at the daycare in the middle of the pandemic, and Khadija and Saad have been diligent and exercising every possible measure to keep all the kids safe. My child has not contracted any illnesses during her time at Au Bonheur des Enfantes—ever! I credit much of this to the clean environment and structured routines Khadija and Saad have for the children.I doubt you will find another daycare in the area that serves entrees like salmon (yes salmon for toddlers! I love it!), chicken shawarma, couscous, fresh organic vegetables, and other delicious entrees daily. I have a picky eater; however, at school, she always eats everything Khadija and Saad prepare for her. Khadija is so loving and caring toward the children. She always refers to the daycare as their second home, and treats them like family. Saad is patient and kind, always greeting the children with a smile. At a previous daycare, there were cameras in the classroom, and I was always checking. Khadija and Saad have restored my faith and trust in childcare, to the point where I have not even missed having access to the camera feed, because I know and trust 100% that my child is safe, happy, and being properly cared for. Being able to work throughout the day, worry-free, with that type of peace of mind is priceless. Every time we get ready to leave our home, my child asks if “we are going to see Khadija and Saad.” She loves it there, as well as, all her friends. I love that the daycare is so diverse, with children from a variety of ethnic backgrounds. The fellow parents are also always friendly and kind. Au Bonheur Des Enfantes is truly a Lansing gem. Please feel encouraged to enroll your child. They are the best of the best! You will be so glad to have Khadija and Saad caring for your child(ren).
Sonya Craig: Au Bonheurs des Enfants is an exceptional childcare facility. My son was always so well cared for there by Khadija and Saad. I loved the exposure that he got to French; over the course of his two years there he became able to communicate so well in French even though we spoke English at home. It was a real joy to experience! In addition to the language and cultural enrichment, other plusses were the exposure to children both younger and older to him; a very comfortable home setting; the healthful and tasty meals that were supplied (think quiche, couscous, lots of tasty fruit and veg), ; and the consistency of care by the same two care providers.
Alison Lee: Au Bonheur des Enfants is a great daycare! Khadija and Saad do their utmost to promote a healthy lifestyle, good eating habits, and a safe environment for learning French. For the past 2 years, our son has learned so much about being an individual and how to interact with the world around him. He is so kind and patient with us when switching between multiple languages. We cannot thank, Khadija and Saad, enough for being along side us in raising our son. We hope other parents will consider Au Bonheur des Enfants as a beneficial part of their child's life.
Peguy Gaboton: When we found out about Au Bonheur des Enfants - French Immersion Daycare, we did not hesitate to enroll our little one. We deliberately drive about 45 min each trip, 5 days a week to take her to Khadija & Saad, when we could have chosen  daycare closer to where we live. It is worth every early morning awakenings and every drive before sunrise and after sunset. Our little one not only understands when spoken to in French, she's starting to speak it. We are amazed by the fact that she can identify certain body parts in both languages. We are particularly grateful to Khadija & Saad for taking excellent care of our little one in a very loving way within a safe and cozy environment that feels like home. They are very responsive when communicating with us. They update us with cute pictures often. They listen to our concerns; they inquire about her developmental progress at home. They reassure us about coordinating with us when she is entering new milestone stages; and they help us reinforce good habits and behaviors. They are accommodating when it comes to us using cloth diapers. They feed her healthy and diverse food. And speaking of diversity! Words cannot explain how invaluable it is to know that our little one is growing in a setting where she can interact, play, make friends and learn with peers of different cultural, ethnic, and family backgrounds.
Chelsea Gettel: My son has attended Au Bonheur des Enfants for over two years and I don't think a better day care could exist. As a mother training to be a pediatrician and former elementary school teacher I have very high standards for my child’s care. Khadija and Saad have continued to not only meet those standards but exceed them. They are both very knowledgeable and experienced. They go above and beyond to provide an environment that is every bit as clean, fun, and educational as our home. I am so grateful that my son has the privilege of eating a diverse range of fresh healthy home cooked food daily. He is also learning many positive behaviors and habits through supportive behavior techniques. Additionally, I am thrilled that he has been learning French as a second language. I love that Au Bonheur des Enfants has provided my son all of these opportunities in a home like setting where he is looked after for by wonderful people that truly care about him and our family. He absolutely loves going to day care. It easy to see how much Khadija and Saad care about all of the children and that they have created a space that children feel safe and loved. My son is thriving, and I know this is in part thanks to the dedication Khadija and Saad have for providing the best care for children. I always recommend Au Bonheur des Enfants to anyone seeking childcare.
Danielle Keyton: I'm so in awe of the progress my son has made since starting at the daycare. He adjusted so easy and now daycare is truly a second home. They prepare all meals for him, fresh and healthy! He loves everything! He even eats things there he won't eat at home. It's remarkable. He has been picking up French so quickly! At 21 months old he's counting to 20! On top of being in the middle of a global pandemic I am able to feel confident that my son is safe and healthy. The love Khadija and Saad have for the children is priceless. I highly recommend!
Murielle Ålund: My little one has been attending the daycare "Au Bonheur des Enfants" for the past 2 years, and we could not have dreamed of a better place for her. Khadija and Saad are some of the most caring people I have ever met. They are not just caring for our child, she is family. She receives attention, affection and a thorough education, as kids of all ages have a learning session in the morning with Saad or Khadija. She also has the luxury to be served home made, healthy meals made fresh every day and goes outside daily if the weather permits it. She learns respect, discipline and builds precious friendships with each of the 11 other children in the home. She strives and even gets angry at us for not sending her there on weekends, what better sign good we get about the quality of the care she gets?
Lane Masoud: Our children are thriving here. Saad and Khadija provide a wonderful, structured learning environment. We feel very safe leaving our babies in their hands and as a parent, that feeling is priceless.
Andrew McFarland: We have been sending our child here since they were 18 months old (now almost 3). Khadija and Saad are very good at caring for children. They use redirection to solve any potential conflicts and it works wonders. My partner is a Francophile and we enjoy having our child raised with an emphasis on French culture. We often get compliments for how well our 3 year old can speak French, they can speak fluently with other adults. The meals are a wide variety of home made dishes that are heavily if not totally French cuisine. Activities include singing, drawing, and playing with toys, all while speaking French. They play outside in a large fenced in backyard as weather permits. They also have structured alone time which is very important for children and often overlooked in larger daycare environments. Being a small daycare with two caregivers they are limited to taking only 12 children. To me that means my child gets the attention they need, unlike some larger / more commercial establishments. I would recommend this daycare to anyone for the care and attention they provide.
Naif Alzahrani: Really professional child care, Khadijah and Saad are very careful and professional. My son all times ask me to go there!
Domonique Wojciechowski: Au Bonheur is an amazing child care facility. I am so happy and blessed that my child can attend. Khadija is thoughtful, patient, kind and truly makes each child feel at home. Khadija exposes them to language, diverse foods, and learning. I also enjoy that my child is able to learn French. The children are like a family and that makes it really special.
Alex Brace: A wonderful, diverse, safe daycare. Making that decision to put your child in daycare is an important decision and this daycare is the right choice. The providers and the space are wonderful. I would choose this daycare ten times out of ten.
