Under Ach1ever83: Others may enjoy their coffee, but their black drip coffee tastes burned, and it's expansive for the size of the coffee. It's a trendy little place, but if you just need a black coffee you might want to look elsewhere. I'm sure they have other great coffee drinks though I didn't try them.I bought a couple donuts for my coworker's and they liked them a lot.

Emily Frankman: My favorite coffee place in Lansing. Had my first date with my now spouse at their original location. Wrote much of my dissertation at one of their tables! Now we bring our toddler to enjoy her own “kid’s steamer” and annoy the other customers (sorry!). What would I be without Strange Matter?!? Delicious coffee and baked goods, friendly staff, and I am so supportive of the owners’ local and inclusive initiatives. I visit it often and will continue to get my coffee and vegan donuts here.

Tia Terpening: My daughters and I enjoy visiting different coffee shops and this was our recent place to check out. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I ordered a hot mocha with toasted marshmallow & the avocado bagel, both were phenomenal. We will definitely be adding this coffee shop to our coffee date rotation!

My kids love the lavender lattes while I have enjoyed working my way through the menu and specialty drinks.I love anything Michigan cherry 🍒 and the iced cherry mocha was divine.For breakfast we have tried the oatmeal and a variety of avocado toasts. The avocado toast comes in a big plastic to-go container—I keep forgetting to ask for an alternative.The staff is friendly and willing to answer questions allowing me to pick out the perfect coffee for my mood.There are plenty of seating options from a couch, window seating, and a cozy upstairs area.

It was neither dark or strong. It certainly has an interesting taste but just not what I was looking for. The baritista was very friendly. Unfortunately, I have a pound of coffee that isn't to my liking. I would definitely go back and try a cup though.

Ryann Kaplan: Was one of my fav coffee shops in lansing until recently. I’ve noticed an unfortunate (and avoidable) decrease in quality and staff interactions and an increase in time spent waiting for drinks since the new year. Doesn’t seem like they trained the new staff well on the machines or drink recipes. Stick to iced drinks to avoid poorly steamed milk.
Nancy S: Craft Beer Mix and Jalapeno Trail Mix - all you can taste are CASHEWS because they dominate all of their snack mixes. I had to remove half of the cashews to enjoy these treats.Otherwise, pretty good snacks!

Frank Tinney: Holy wow from Nebraska. I bought this innocent looking clear container of Dark Chocolate Bridge Mix at a local grocery store and holy moly is it delicious. I mean it- should have been called Box Of Magic Yummies you can't resist. I put it down and BAM, somehow it's in my hand with the top off yet again. I bought two containers thinking the fam and I could politely share them all week and now there's only half of one left two days in and I'm hiding in the basement with it growling at anyone who cares to venture down and act like they're just coming to check something else down here (nice try kid.) It's like "my precious" from Lord of the Rings only it's dark chocolate and I'm an overweight upper middle aged full size human - but the noises I make are probably similar. I've never been to your restaurant, but if this bridge mix is any indication, I'd have to be greased and shoved out the door to exit. Do NOT stop making this and shipping it to grocery stores in Nebraska, but if you do, I want to direct purchase. Wish they had a 6th star for this rating Satisfied customer near Omaha.

Chase Hasper: Nice coffee shop in a good, central spot. They had a reasonable amount of seating with a decent selection of drinks. My mocha was good and I appreciated the laid back atmosphere, but don’t know that I’d spend a long time here, the seating was a bit stiff. But maybe if I had homework to do?
