Rachel Curtis: THE BEST SUSHI restaurant you’ll ever go to! So, this place has been around for years and hands down my favorite. I am moving and literally shed a tear eating there for the last time. I have had other ginger salads and miso soups at different restaurants, they never compare. The service is so friendly and always shockingly fast and super fresh. I could go on and on. I’d buy merch! ❤️Thanks sushi Moto for years of yummy food!

Askr Mer': Use to love this place. She over charges for minuscule things. Then you bring it up to her, then she has amnesia about what she served you. Mikado is better than here. At least over there you get what you actually want and what you pay for.Response to owner:That’s what I ordered you charged me $12 for 3 little pieces of chicken and a all vegetables then I asked you was there a chance I could get more added in you were rambling on about that’s how many pieces I paid for and that the original prices haven’t been updated since 2014. The update was 8.99 and I paid $3 more for 3 small pieces of chicken. I don’t recommend your restaurant. 👎🏽

Kadin 224: Frist time and it was really good

Brandon Baratono: The only redeeming thing here are the Teas they have available, and those are extremely overpriced. This is the most expensive Sushi place in the city, and the quality doesn't show it.The Sushi isn't bad, but its definitely not worth what you are paying. The Sushi Chefs are just college students, who are many times just studying behind the bar. This is basically a Sushi Place for students who don't know what a real Sushi place is.

I think this place is great for dates and a nice place to take friends and family out to eat.My server Jared was very friendly and informative, he helped me pick out the perfect sushi for what i was craving and was super helpful and welcomingThe sushi while expensive was fantastic, I slowed down my chewing so i could really savor my food. I had the crouching Tiger and definitely recommend if you like savory sushi! I also recommend getting the cucumber infused Sake, its very refreshing!! Victoria Teachout: Very pleasant experience all around. We tried the spicy fried tofu, miso soup, cosmo roll, and the matcha creme brulee and it was all delicious. I had asked if they could take the avocado out of the cosmo roll, and it came out perfectly! The loose leafe tea was also a great choice, you get a good amount for the cost. Our service was superb and all of the staff was very warm and welcoming. Definitely will recommend to others who want to have a sushi dining experience in the Lansing area.

William Pullen: A lovely restaurant with a very good vibe, and super tasty and delicious food.

Gary Oshust: My favorite, it's just weird. Toilets for seat. And all you can eat Sprouts, really good potatoe salad and kimchee. Plus, weird tv. Younger brother and beautiful wife now run the place. Sadly, the eclectic charm is gone. A lot of the quiche quirkiness is gone no more toilets to sit on when eating. I miss that funky charm. That food, though, is still tops. My favorite is the sides which you can't serve yourself with anymore, but the kimchi, sprouts, and potatoe salad are still excellent, and the eel roll is super along with the watermelon bubble tea. Best late night place anywhere in Lansing area.Parking: Right in front of shop!Wheelchair accessibility: Flat easy access

j Jay (Jjay): This place is taken over by new ownership. No more Mr Wong. The food quality had changed little however the service isn't the same quality as it used to be. Dan Wells: Reliably amazing food, open late, and hearty portions
Amanda Bernes: They sold their company and now they don’t like to listen to customer preferences and dietary needs. They no longer modify any menu items to their customers needs nor do they actually even know their own menu.
Reese Skidmore: Every time I go the food is amazing and I love all the pictures in the restaurant.

Lzz Johnk: A well-kept secret and one of the best hole-in-the-wall eateries in East Lansing. This place has tasty food, good boba, and mellow vibes. I LOVE the sides that come with their udon and ramen (maybe they come with other things too, but I just order the noodles over and over). You may want to do some gentle neck stretches before checking out the menu. Beware that parking is somewhat limited right in front of the building, but I think you can park around back without getting into trouble.
Carly Gustafson: Still has all the charm, intimate atmosphere, friendliness, and delicious food as the previous owner. I will be back! Thank you 😊
James Laney: I had the Korean Dumpling Soup and felt revived like I was a character in some cooking anime.I had no idea what to do, but was helped out by patience and awareness:1. Order at the front counter by the entrance/exit (the door greets you and says goodbye).2. Menu items are posted on the ceiling.3. The order will come to you at your seat.4. There is hot/cold water to be had along a wall.5. Just push your tray away when you're finished.Gamsahamnida! 😋

Adrianna Montgomery: Came here to follow Eddie & Aiko, the owners of Huapeis. Unfortunately there wasn’t a single item from Huapeis on the menu at Udon. The food wasn’t bad, but we were really looking forward to hot sour soup, fried dumplings, crab rangoons and huapeis chicken. Please add some of these items on to the menu!!!!

Thuyen Dang: Our go to place for ramen and sushi. Only downside is how small it is inside so we try to go when it's not busy. We usually get the tonkotsu ramen, sumo crunch burrito or poke bowl. Their sushi and ramen is one of the best. We tried the volcano ramen awhile ago and it was really spicy and delicious. We had some recently and it was not as spicy as before anymore (either that or my spice tolerance was built up).

Tonia Kaczmarczyk: First trip and I can't wait to go back. They have a Devine ginger tea which I wanted bottled to take home it was so yummy. Their sushi was very delightful and rolled perfectly. I'm already planning my next trip. I do wish I could have ordered a glass of wine or saki with my meal but the meal itself did need any enhancing. The atmosphere is a little stark but a very modern design. It became "cozy" as things picked up and was packed by the time I left.

Elnora Wallin: Yummy fried Beef Gyoza!! Boston roll and Rock N Roll!! Maddie was a wonderful server!! Enjoyed our visit!!Parking: Come in to the parking from Bailey street!!
Yoga queen: This used to be my go to spot. Over the past years the food has been nasty! The last time I was there I became terribly ill. I got food poisoning from this place. I haven't been back since
Melissa Reeves: I sometimes deliver for extra cash and this Friday I was sent in for an order. I go to pick it up and the girl says 7-8 minutes. I went and picked up the order that was attached and came back and still wasn't ready. I asked about three times when the order would be ready and nobody could tell me a time. People were getting their pick ups and this customer placed her order 25 minutes before I was watching all these walk on people get their food before this lady did. There is no way I should have had to wait 35-40 mins more for an order already placed! I will never go here again and am spreading the word about how they can't make an order a priority if I have been waiting that long. Terrible place and business.

Doug Reeves: Best sushi ever. I was visiting East Lansing at the basketball game today. Soup was very good people are very friendly!
Brandy Muzzy: Quick and conveniently located. I got the Harry Potter roll and think about it constantly, it was yummy!Of course prices are higher but it’s homemade sushi, and it’s large portions. I couldn’t even finish a full roll, we definitely ordered way too much. Keep in mind that this is the main drag of a college town too, and it could be astronomically expensive, but it’s not!Coming back for sure.
Daniel Callton: Rice roll.
Christian Lloyd: This use to be my absolute favorite Sushi spot in East Lansing. I've gone there for years and it was amazing. But, over the last few years this once renowned little secret spot of mine has gone WAY down hill. From lacking service to not-so-fresh food there has been a serious decline in my appreciation for Sushi Ya. Tonight, 11/25/22, was the last straw. We recommended this place to some friends a while back, they were in town and wanted to get dinner with me and my fiancé, so we went. Never have I ever had such terrible service in my entire life. The entire hour and a half not a single drink was refilled. Although it sucked, it's simply what it is. She even messed up the order, what can ya do. But that wasn't the bad part. What was bad was my friends girlfriend finding a MOLDY GRAPE on her plate with her food. It was all over it and disgusting, revolting even. I took it up to the waitress (seeing she never came to the table) and asked her what it was. She apologized and said she would get her a NEW bowl. Why in the world would we want another bowl?! I told her we would not be paying for the plate of food seeing after that our table lost their appetite. She said, "Oh well I would need to make sure it's okay with the manager," I don't think it should be a question seeing it's MOLD on FOOD in a RESTAURANT. But fine. I didn't see the waitress till she finally brought the bill and took off the moldy plate. Not a single apology or visit from the manager, the one who is suppose to watch over operations and make sure it's all up to code?! From were I'm standing they're not doing their job all that well. I don't recommend this place. It's become a very disappointing meal and no longer our favorite spot. Look elsewhere and I hope this helps the next innocent employee who wishes not to eat mold.
Sawyer Nischan: Good experience!! I have some pretty nasty tummy issues that make eating out hard but the food is tasty and the service is super friendly! I ordered the tofu stew and it was awesome.

sophia jones: Over priced mid sushi, omi is better.. Cute boat tho.
Ruth: All around weird, rude, inept service that was somewhat unnerving. Never received what we ordered, incorrect food brought to us several times. Something was off - a man who seemed like an owner or manager apologized and said no charge but we paid anyway.
Amanda Williams: Absolutely delicious! The best way to begin the summer season in East Lansing!
Lucas DeLisle: Huge portions for the Price. Good sushi and large selection of rolls
Cody & Sarah Wheeler: We usually like this place but lately it seems like we never know if they’re open or closed. We drove all the way from Perry (about a 25 minute drive) just to find out they were closed, since they did not advertise this closure on their website we are extremely disappointed and frustrated. We had a movie planned so scrambling to find another restaurant was next to impossible.

Jessica Earl: Great upscale atmosphere. A little pricier than other sushi restaurants but it's well worth it. The bathrooms are clean, and the staff are helpful and knowledgeable about the food. One of the best sushi restaurants in the area, definitely.Edit (2023) to add that this review holds up and is still the best sushi restaurant in Lansing! New picture added too!Vegetarian options: Multiple vegetarian and vegan friendly meal options!Kid-friendliness: While it's upscale, it still has a family vibe and is child-friendly with high chairs, children's menu and crayons, and a changing table in the women's restroom.Parking: Parking lot with lots of regular and handicap parking spaces within a short distance from the door.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible at all tables (except the horigotatsu? tables) and the restrooms.

Jeff Guillaume: Always a fantastic experience here with utterly delicious, authentic sushi. Been to the restaurant many times over many years. Best miso soup and ginger salad in town! Can get very busy at popular times, so plan ahead or make a reservation.
M Nedloc: This is a good go-to place for sushi, it’s fresh, delicious, and willing! I really needed sushi in my body and did some minor researching and concluded that this is one of the best spots in town to grab some sushi. Since I’m usually a party of one it’s much easier to get seated and to get seated quickly. So, if you are coming with a party two or larger and it’s during their rush or weekend nights, you might have a little bit of waiting ahead of you. But it does look like people are in and out of here quickly with a smile, so why not partake? This was my first time here, but I have been a few more times since the initial retrieval. There is a large list for eating and one for drinking and you can’t go wrong with both. The food was out relatively quick, staff were kind and efficient, meaning yes, I would come here again and probably again. I have even tried options I don’t usually order but let me tell you, I thought I wasn’t a tofu person, but now, I ain’t mad at it. They even have fried tofu, try it.

ALice RIley: I will say I use to hold this restaurant in high regard and have been a loyal customer for many years. The level of disrespect I was shown is absolutely Shameful and Disgusting and a total slap in the face and one reason I never will be returning. Apparently years of loyalty means nothing.

Joe Courtade Moon: Amazing food! Definitely sit in the tatami area if you can, fun atmosphere and it doesn't feel like sitting on the floor---more like a sunken booth? We got there at about 5:30pm on a Friday night, and waited about 45 min for a table. Worth it, but definitely make a reservation if you can. We got the eel kabeyaki and the sansu stone bowl, both were really good. The eel is cooked and in an amazing sauce, definitely a winner! Servers were super busy but very nice.
Chris Petersburg: Our family ate here for lunch and I have to say, best sushi in town.
Trishia Watson: I’ve been here many times without issue until this evening. Waitress spilled hot soup down a guest in my party’s back/side. The soup also saturated her phone as well. A manager never came out to speak to us and no adjustment was made to her bill for her injury (her back was burned and red after returning home). We did not seek out management at my friend’s behest as she was embarrassed about the situation. Accidents happen, but appropriate recourse could have been had. A manager should have rectified this. A fine dining experience shouldn’t involve getting scalded. Please train your staff to involve a supervisor when a liability arises, accident or not. Really disappointed in how this situation was handled. Looking forward to a response.
