Michigrain Distillery: what do users think?
renee hall: Loved it! What a great room. Marcus was an amazing host and bartender. Drinks were on point. Will definitely be back. I might have a new favourite place!!
Steve Bishop: My daughter was emailing back and forth about the renting out of the event space going back a couple weeks. The subject line was graduation party. Last weekend we visited in person to check it out and pay. We were told to contact the owner or manager to pay. We were told the date was now reserved, so invitations were sent out. Suddenly there is a rule of 18+ and the revelation that a graduation party might have people that are under 18. The other venue we were looking at no longer has the date available.
Emma Bostwick: Amazing spot for drinks! Marcus was a great bar tender and host. This will be a regular spot for us here on out.
Rob Sandusky: Great venue, cocktails are okay. I'm surprised it's not busier. Apparently under new management, so come back in and give it another try.
Samantha Jay: Awesome drinks, cool chill vibe, fun games to play, and great service. I had a pineapple lavender drink with vodka soaked pineapples and a drink called the heat wave. I love spicy so the heat wave was delicious- fruity and spicy and sour!
Matt Biek: Go in and chat with Marcus, straight up solid guy, and a great atmosphere.
DElightful Photography: We loved the pineapple lavender infused vodka! We bought the vodka and we’ll infuse with lavender and pineapple later. Personally, we weren’t a fan of the spirits but the waitress was exceptional!
Jonathan Ankley: Great atmosphere. Rented the upstairs room out for a work event, was able to come early to set up and stay a little later in order to clean up the decorations. Sasha (I think was her name) was our server she was very attentive and made sure that all of our party was adequately taken care of. The space was clean and very cozy. The drinks were delicious, I was drinking the pineapple muse. Would highly recommend using it for future events.
Marissa House: DO NOT reserve the room upstairs. Especially for how expensive it is ($400 for 4 hours) where we were told we had to leave early…The service was horrible. They were waiting on maybe one table downstairs the entire time so it’s not even they were overwhelmed. It would have been nice to have two servers (even though they were all unpleasant) considering there was no bartender upstairs like what was promised. We made our own fun of course and know that you have to bring your speakers if you want music, which is also frustrating considering the price.
lexi Kienitz: Horrible experience renting out the event space upstairs, especially for the outrageous price ($400 for 4 hours, and we were told to leave an hour early??) They supplied absolutely nothing aside from ONE server. No utensils, no napkins, no garbage can!! We were told there would be a bartender upstairs with us the entire time, that didn’t happen. There was no music system at all so we had to bring speakers. The bar downstairs was empty on a Saturday night too, no surprise!!!
Nelly Smith: horrible experience renting the space up stairs for my sisters birthday party. they didn’t provide anything, no plates no sliverware NOT EVEN A TRASH CAN, we were told we would have a bartender upstairs, we didn’t get that, just the horrible miserable attitude of the server who we so kindly tipped. for $400 do not rent this space, not worth it at all.
Marina Eddy: If I could leave a 0 I would. We had a birthday party here and paid to have a bartender (which they told us when we got there that there was not going to be one) there was no speakers and they didn’t provide any plates, utensils, not even napkins! The bartender was super rude. We will not be coming back.
Gregg Hollander: Cute little, what? If it were a brewery you’d call it a taproom but this is a distillery so I guess that’s not the right term. Anyway, great drinks list, a couple of tasty appetizers and a fun vibe in downtown Lansing. Great location around the corner from the ball park, too. Definitely worth stopping in for a drink.
Makenna Cox: As locals I’m ashamed it took so long for us to come here. Very small and relaxing atmosphere. Loved the range of drinks and the strong flavors in them. Good toilet paper, though they do need a new holder for it lol
christopher mcgrath: Great cocktails. Great toilet paper. Hand washed fruit. Love this place
Alan Fraser: Learned that at the height of the pandemic this place helped provide pharmacies with sanitizer. I look forward to stopping in if i am every in your city!
Susan Thompson: Stopped by given the flashy exterior branding and decent reviews while passing through Lansing and was admittedly very underwhelmed. Before we even ordered, we had a feeling this wasn't going to be good but we wanted to give it a try. If you're looking for quality craft cocktails this isn't the place. Our drinks were full of cheap soda (literally all we could taste) took less than 60 seconds to make, and having watched them get made, I don't think they had more than a half second pour of alcohol per drink. We had a few sips and left. I would not recommend.
Pedal Saloon Lansing: Love that they have a full page of “mules” (i.e. spirit + ginger beer + lime).Try the “Sippin’ Mule”: MichiGrain vodka, ginger beer, fresh lime, and choice of Civil Ferments sipping vinegar (trust me this is a good thing, I chose Raspberry Coriander but equally as appealing was Blueberry Lemon).Unexpectedly cozy place (couches and a fireplace, yes please!). Also nice seating along the window for people watching.
Jesse Zarb: Great place to get affordable and tasty drinks! We have bought their potato for ourselves and as gifts to take to friends. Their Gin which can only be had in house is worth visiting their tasting room all on it’s own. We have been many times, but most recently had a fun Tuesday night with their DJ music bingo. That caused me to write a review to tell others how great of a place Michigrain is! Stop in for a visit and tasting!
Connor Cheyne: A good spot to visit after Lansing Brewery. There are games and good drinks! Would recommend.
James A: Definitely a random find while passing through town. But it was pretty great for a vodka stop. Didn't get to stay long but definitely has potential to be a great hangout place. The potato vodka was smooth and had a flavour profile of something much more expensive. Hopefully the products will make their way to Canada as well.

American Fifth Spirits: what do users think?
Dwight Maness: Great service and friendly bartenders. Probably the best cocktails I've ever had at a distillery.
Jay Roney: Awesome atmosphere, cool building, terrible customer service! I stopped in to check out the penny bar and the cocktails and to meet a friend. Unfortunately, it took forever for me to get a drink and while I was waiting, they asked me about last call. My friend hadn't arrived yet and it was only 10:30 (If been there at least 20 minutes at this point and they close at 11:00 according to the posted hours. The place probably had 5-6 tables of customers as well as at the bar), so I asked if he'd be able to get a drink since he was pretty much there. The answer was that the waitress had already locked the door. Needless to say, I won't be back....
Reese Clark: Some of the better cocktails I've had, while having approachable pricing. Loved this place and will be returning.
Emma Bostwick: Visited this spot a few weeks ago for a birthday with a group of about 10 or so. They were easily able to host us. Everyone loved their drinks and the happy hour prices we’re great. Highly recommend!
Island Ewert: Love the space and service. I do wish they had rum options but I don't think it is their forte. Love to bring people from out of town to here and get a flight!
Alex Pomitz: The Menu as a culmination of delicious history of amazing cocktails from staff year over year makes for a spirited experience where mainstays takes on a new meaning.
Samantha Jay: Lovely place, excellent drinks! The bartender was an all-star and did a fantastic job. We tried several different drinks and all of them were delicious. My favorite was the sazerac! Would have given 5 stars but didn’t see any food, I could have missed it though I was honestly so excited about the drinks and the penny top bar.
Joseph Hohler III: Fairly chill spot on a Wednesday afternoon to sip some whiskeys. Particularly enjoyed the high rye bourbon, which is obviously a good combo of bourbon and rye flavors, and also the absinthe, which can be an acquired taste. Bria was very helpful and friendly.
Michelle-Randy Carlson: Great selection of drinks and fun time
Todd Ernest: Great place for a craft cocktail. Prices are fair and the liquor is delicious.
Kim H: The drinks were good and service was fine. Ordered a flight of liquors and was disappointed at how small the pours were. They stated one ounce pours but it was more like a spritz. My partner had a the smallest of sip and I got to lick the glass. A thimble full of liquor shouldn't cost two bucks a piece.
John Young: This is a hidden jem in downtown Lansing. Incredible selection of craft cocktail plus seasonal features. We had the black ice and an old fashioned. Wow... Full of flavor and fresh ingredients. Exposed brick and beams. This place is sure to please. Comfortable relaxing atmosphere with incredible service.
Sara: Great service, atmosphere, and drinks!
Jordyn: Drinks are delicious, love the atmosphere !
Brandon Ewert: Always something new to try here. Great ambiance!
Sharon Zenker: Truly unique drinks and great staff. A place that you can have a relaxed conversation with friends. Still the best cocktails in Lansing!
josh anderson: One of the best atmospheres of any distillery I've been to. Friendly staff and great drinks.
Greg Zenker: Drinks are delicious and innovative. Staff is super friendly. Place is very clean and the decor is how a distillery should be.Update: my wife and I have been going here for over 2 years now. We absolutely love this place! We both have become Crystal Club members. The cocktails are always amazing and they constantly add and subtract some drinks.
Rafael Lembi: It’s nice
Sarah: May be one of the best cocktails I've ever tasted 🧐I got the raspberry truffle. The flights are also awesome! Planning to come back :)
Alicia Olsen (Ali): Great service and great drinks! I will definitely be back!
