Michigan BluesFest: what do users think?
Glenn Olds: Lots of friendly people reasonably priced refreshments great bands easy parking what's not to like
Lee Smith: Great music 3 stages , food vendors , bar all outside
Z A: Only the most radio friendly blues, nearly all bands playing the same 4 bar/chicago style with one band playing more 80's souped rock with a slight blues influence. Each band accompanied by a muted sound mixing. The bands themselves were great, however, the curation was beyond subpar along with the attention to mixing making some talented people seem boring. Yes, the crowd was older, Yes Root Doctor is hanging it up and should have been there but this fest is a big miss for anyone who was not alive during the last gasp of the 80's when blues still packed clubs. New life has been brought to the blues in recent years but it got little to no attention along with the dirtier, earlier blues. This "fest" needs more love.
Kathy: Great event, with good groups. Will return next year!
stephen hutchinson: I havnt been yet I'm trying to find out the who when where and time ??
Carl Venzke: Great time and free!
Jerry Glisson: Great time, good entertainers! Be there next year! Or be square!!
E villarreal: Blues is Blood !
Richardo Charles: Great atmosphere and people. Too bad they don't have funnel cake. I guess that's a New York thing. Music was on point though.
Christopher Dandaneau: Southern Avenue was really outstanding, extremely high energy performance.
Phil Borcherding: Southern Avenue Killed it
Rockin Robin: I attend every year, and I love it every time!
Cheryl McKinch: Love this event for sure!!
Deborah Gray: Fun atmosphere.
Renee Sheridan: Great time until last band, Abby Road 2.0. They played Beatles songs and we were there for Blues!! Looks like we weren't the only people disappointed because we weren't the only ones leaving.
marilyn collard: Loved it Awesome there's no words to express how wonderfull it was looking farward to next yr
J'Ann Schrantz: Larry McCray band outstanding music!!
Debra Shaw: Great blues festival in a nice location. Two stages so always music playing.A few good restaurants right there too, so good food ,good music great time.
Carrie Slusarski: Just wow!!!! Went at the last minute, nothing else going on, so glad we did, one of the best times musically ive ever had, the way itnwas set up, the food, and the music was incredible, I can't wait for the next event!
Martin Chacon: Great event if you love music hanging out and drinking beer and getting drunk, small enclosed fenced-in area to keep you corralled together pay five bucks to get in and then 5x a beer so it's not anything to Grande... I was bring your own stuff you can park by and drink it out your own cup instead of paying all that money for nothing
mrwilms: great festival. the neighbors in old town are in for a treat every year. watch out for the (homeless?) hustlers. I've seen Jamie run them off on occasion and was happy she was there to handle it briskly lol

Michigan Chicken Wing Festival: what do users think?
Mia Hockman: Spent $110 on 2 vip tickets. Vendors didn't know anything about tickets. 4 ouf of 14 vendors were chicken wing trucks, only 1 took the tickets. Received 8 drink tickets but took 4 tickets for a beer can. We drove 50 miles to get there. Spent money on a hotel room. Plus we left at 6pm still hungry. Had to go get food elsewhere. I really wish I could have my money back.
Mari Fuentes: horrible experience. $15.00 per person to enter the park with less than 10 venue options for wings. Wings are extremely over priced and wait times are too long. not worth the price, would not reccomend. Wish we could’ve got a refund
Frank Diller: Total scam. No reason to waste your time or money.
Jamie A: This event is still a scam! Do not waste your money! - 8.2022I'd like to see a balance sheet of where the money actually goes. This was a scam of an event. Do not ever go to this.My friend and I paid $40 total for 10 "wing samplings"; there were only about 10 vendors and about 5 of them had wings. The vendors did not honor the tickets and we were not given our money back. There was no water or drinks available and no where to sit. There was supposed to be music and activities. This did not happen as well.
Cynthia Jackson: Amari Blankets And More participated as a vendor this year, and loved it! Thank you for letting my daughter's small black owned business participate in a worthy cause.
Linda Crenshaw: Good wings! I also loved the Vegan options. A great day for a festival. A wonderful lineup of local and non-local singing talent. I had a good time! The Festival continues to improve each year.
Sonya Nance: I had a wonderful time at the 2021 Chicken Wing Festival! The food and entertainment was absolutely wonderful! Shirley may GOD continue to bless you and your event!!
Keifer Woodfield: Worst way I have ever spent money. Everything on the website is a lie. Seems like all the festivals are just going to the dump. Sloppy organization, people just don't care anymore. They just want your money and don't care that the supply you with garbage for it. $55 got me 3 "premium" hard ciders. Which were just angry orchards. And the "plethora" of wings and flavors that was stated on the website was 1 vendor. With 5 sauces. A disgrace of a festival. And they hid behind it all by saying "portions" of the proceeds go to charity. Felt like a straight up scam.
Will Badra: Great relaxing AND energetic music, good food, excellent value, thank you for a great evening!
Joshua LeVeque: Best wings I've ever had. Excellent music. Wonderful people to be around. I had such a great time and will be back every year, and will bring people with me.
Suzi Hughes: We spent $55 a piece for VIP passes which got us a half hour wait in line at only one place for wings, another hour and a half later we got our order of complete fried to a crisp inedible wings…the lady even dropped one on the ground when she put our order on the table and didn’t say a word,!forget replacing it. The “8 drinks” equaled one 12 oz can of hard cider plus an additional solo shot size glass of cider. We got there at 2 and walked out at 4:30 carrying our overly crispy basket of nasty wings and a bad taste in our mouths. Will never do that again! Oh and never did see or hear a word about the goody bags supposedly included???
Annie Lively: While this event is raising money for cancer survivors, I'm afraid I've developed some serious fatigue and am in a depressive state after waiting in line for 4 hours for my chicken wings. Also, my friend didn't get to compete in the chicken wing eating contest--which is quite disappointing. Also, I didn't get the amount of alcoholic beverages I thought I would. Also, there weren't any signs. Also, why wasn't there a timer in place for the contest? Also, they ran out of chicken wings. It was a chicken wing festival, yet, no one was eating chicken wings because there weren't any (at certain given times). We waited three hours for our chicken wings. Then we left immediately because it was 8:00 pm and it was ending. I was really excited about this friggen festival but now I have a bunch of soggy wings that are honestly, kind of salty.
Kris Holly: The chicken wings where amazing. Everything else seemed disorganized. Definitely somebody kept to the let's wing it 2021.** Was promised a bag and a contest entery with the VIP. Left after three hours neither happened. Vip is a scam just buy general admission and the wings you want will cost about a third what vip cost. Whoever ran 2021 event should probably not in future if this is going to continue to be an event.
Matthew Culver: Horrible horrible experience. Pay to get in, pay premium for food, wait forever for the food, then pay premium for drinks. Spent around three hours waiting on wings I ordered. Only four chicken wing booths but plenty of phone, clothes, and other assorted vendors. Would not recommend and especially would not recommend any special day pass.
Moniquw Nelson: We had a blast the food was good live bands were awesome just an overall fun experience can’t wait till co-vid is gone to enjoy this festival again
Cassandra Mortmain: Long wait and rude staff
Ghost Hunter: Great people family friendly great music and all put on by an amazing woman trying to bring the community together
Eldred Carter II: Great festival and fun for all ages
Gray Taylor: We had a blast out here and my family is excited to go next year!
Tracy Porter: I want to start by saying pat yourself on the back Shirley Carter-Powell.Thank you for offering the community a event that brings diversity, culture, and safe place to enjoy with family and friends. I’ve been coming to the event since day 1.The growth of the event has been very enjoyable to see throughout the years. Each year has been more and more exciting. I was very intrigued by the cornhole tournament ,as well as the pro wrestling. Such a wonderful experience. There was never dull moment . Variety of food , great entertainment, great drink selection, affordable and kid friendly .I’m anticipating the announcement of the next one. I must say the professionalism of the staff as well as Shirley Carter was a site to see. I will be attending the next one.
Amber Ice: I went last year and it was amazing. I tasted some of the best flavor wings I’ve ever had in my life!

Karen Jarrell: My daughter and I saw WickedI loved it! What a beautiful facility, I will definitely plan to see other preformances there.
K R: Great service, everyone was very helpful. I was able to buy a ticket at the box-office a few hours before the show. The staff there recommended a few restaurants to try that were near by and answered all my questions. The theater does not seem to have been updated for several years except the bathrooms, they have self flushing toilets. The down side is that it's on MSU campus.

Mary Hudzik: Saw Wicked and it was the best musical ever
Nancy Litch: Wonder venue. Wicked was excellent.

The Robin Theatre: what do users think?
Chris S: Cozy space that hosts various events. I've been there on the weekend when it sells books, but most often I'm there for the Créma-torium Café & Cinéclub. I'd like to try to make it to other events.I love how welcoming the place is, from the space itself to the people running it. At the beginning of one show, the co-owner literally said, "YOU are welcome," to ensure that no matter who you are, you are welcome in the space. There's something about someone stating it so plainly that makes it so powerful. I appreciate that sort of thing.
Beau Brockett: This can quickly become your comfort place to go to. The owners are so kind, the acts are myriad, the space is cozy, and the sound is crisp and not too loud. It really feels like a place that values community, both inside and outside the theatre. The bookstore in this venue is also solid.
Ben Traverse: great lil venue with an owner that cares a lot about community, art, and culture.
G: I love love love coming here. Not only do I find amazing books each time I visit, the human who works here is just the cutest nicest person. Come for the books, but stay for the chats!
Miranda J: Very nice
Marilyn Bowen: For a 64 year old the chairs got uncomfortable. Other than that all was good
Alyssa Slocombe: We saw a great band had a good time chilling back and enjoying the music
Richard Hill-Rowley: Intimate listening space. Rachael Davis was fabulous
Trishia Watson: Came here on a whim while waiting for our table at the diner next door. Great decision! Awesome selection of books for reasonable prices. Among those a vintage Michigan cookbook for $4. I believe we spoke with the owner who thanked us for our patronage. We have an upcoming trip planned and will return.
Doug Herig: Great time for sure 👍 👌
David R. Austen: Entertainment and management and interior design was top drawer.
Nola Warner: I love the hospitality of the staff. The acts Robin brings to the Lansing area are simultaneously sophisticated and humble. I'm so grateful for all the work they do to bring fantastic shows to our town.
Dawn C: Very friendly home town feel. Great people and a fun place to see a show!
Heather Moore: Personable host, beautiful and historic location and comfortable ambiance. Will recommend until I'm blue in the face. Don't forget about the bookstore on Sat and sun 🤙
Chelsie Boodoo: Great people and venue!
Peggy Dunn: They're trying their best to get through this pandemic safely. We felt safe and enjoyed an evening out at long last.
Steven Glynn: Very intimate venue, not a bad seat in the house! We've gone to about a dozen shows and always had a great time. The acts are a good mix of genres and national and local talent. The sound is managed very well and i've never heard it get too loud or uncomfortable at any shows. I would highly recommend!
Brian Ruskauff: Mind blown by the most titillating, genuine, and rock solid performance ever for a small venue. Will be back for many more.
Rich OBrien: Great venue, great artist...
brenda m greenhoe: Intimate setting with great ambiance and good sound..
Linda Bennett: This is a small and intimate theater excellent we're listening to small groups. Interaction was great between audience members and the group.
