Michigan History Center: what do users think?
Jeffrey Pollock: Exceptional place to bring a group. Arguably the most underrated museum in the state. Immersive, engaging, with a top notch collection.
rhonda norman: Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry $6–10More
James Smith: Pretty good museum focused on Michigan history. If you want to absorb it all and read write-ups, as well as participate in various hands-on displays, it will take a few hours to complete. It’s like a smaller version of one of the Smithsonians. Well designed and laid out and put together with quality. It’s typically open for a few hours on Sunday, at which time the entry is free. Tickets are priced reasonably for other days.
Erin Symonds: We spent a few hours on Sunday exploring the Michigan History Center. My son has been asking to go for weeks, and with Sunday being free admission plus free parking, it seemed the perfect time! The mining area was very cool and I love how the center flowed through. There isn't a wrong way to go through the place. My son loved exploring the place. We'll be back soon!
Sara M: Did you know that in Michigan the Polio Vaccine had trials leaded by Jonás Salk? Or that Jiffy the famous mixture of pancakes and baking good was founded in Michigan? Well… all of these and more you’ll learn in this History Center museum which is shared with the Michigan Library.I was gladly impressed during my visit. This museum is organized in a way you enjoy and understand the journey. It is 3 storey and each one is pretty ample. My favourites areas were the “Mining in Michigan”, “The Prototyping Parlour and the recently added “Hazel’s creation” right at the entrance.Sundays are free and parking is plenty and free as well.To go over the whole 3 floors and if you go at slow pace as myself :) allocate at minimum 2 hours. You can go with seniors as there is plenty of seatings and also with children.
Lee Norton: From prehistory to wilderness to territory to statehood, this museum has a professional presentation spread across 3 floors on exhibit. The entry cost is reasonable.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Not sure Price for adult entry $6–10 …More
Larry Smith: A very cool place to visit, kind of a mini collection of Michigan's diverse history. I was here with a 3rd grade class. I think it was a bit above their grade level. I would suggest 5th grade and above to visit here. A children's museum would have been a better fit for the kids today.
Robert Schenk: Good food and server, waited about a half an hour to get the meal after ordering.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Not sure Price for adult entry Free …More

Michigan Women's Historical Center & Hall of Fame: what do users think?
Chelsea Cooper: Walked all around the building and no sign of life even tho it says open on Google and on the sign behind the locked door. Waste of time. Also phone number listed is not in service...
Jared Allen: Great place, very interesting, and fun for kids
Nancy Lansing: Women showcasing our history, supporting local agencies, causes, and community.
L Camilla Shewalter: I found this very enlightening and interesting. I was surprised at the number of important women who accomplished so much but have gone mostly unrecognized. My only suggestion would be to add some audio recordings that people could listen to as they viewed each woman... because the audio experience is such a valuable learning tool.
Jamie Beckwith: I went here years ago and found it very interesting.

Martin Timkovich: A fascinating venue for a 70th birthday party. It illustrated what upper crust life was like before industry brought fabulous wealth into the state. Nothing was behind a velvet rope. The grandkids felt like they were in someone's home, not a museum, but they still learned something about Lansing's history.Visited on Weekend …More
Robert Wilberding: Great Experience and happy we choose the venue.. :)
Tonino Pacifico: Beautiful exterior brick work. Handsome wood trim on the interior.
Brian Snowgold: This was a very enjoyable visit. The home was beautiful and the staff there were very knowledgeable and helpful. Self guided and we spent about 45min. I would recommend this to anyone.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Not sure Price for adult entry $1–5 …More

Christopher Sandker: Had a great time, smelling the old smells of years past. The only regret was I came on a date' where I would have rather been by myself when I met "hulsey"? I saw you, and still do. I need to come back and at least ask you to dinner, even if you say no... Great tour!Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry $6–10 …More
Julie Jae: BEAUTIFUL!! I feel like i went back in time. The staff is so great. Just love this place!
Doug Milligan: Love this historic old house.
Jacklyn G: Great history, and the tour was super informative. The city needs to do more to keep this place preserved, it is a gem that Lansing needs to market more!
Rachel Rinkesmith: cool thing to do in this area. unfortunately the only day i could go was a day that it was closed. i still enjoyed walking around the outside and reading the history.
Maria Barber: Wow!! This is an awesome place for kiddos to learn about Lansing history. The manager of the house was very nice and explained the history of the house very well. I highly recommend this place for a family fun day.
Selene M: Absolutely loved my experience with the Turner-Dodge house! I had my open house there and it was such a beautiful and perfect place to have it. The amazing woman who is taking care of the house does a phenomenal job of keeping the house pristine and flawless. It is truly a great place to be at. The history of not only the house but the family who created it is just so fascinating and quite amazing. Definitely check it out and keep it in mind for any event you might have.
Joy Gleason: Built the same year that MSU opened for business, this is one of the few historically preserved buildings in Lansing. I have been there for several occasions and I always learn something new.
Sara Parlove: I love the gardens♡°
Peter Tobiessen: this home is well furnished with period furniture ad accessories. we very much enjoyed visiting it. not especially for little kids, but older ones can learn so much about the hisotry and the way rich folks live in by gone days.
Mark Chamberlin: Lovely old mansion that has been lovingly decorated with very authentic pieces throughout. A lot of good Lansing historical photos and stories of earlier days. The place is well maintained and run by a very dedicated manager. Well worth a stroll through. Try to catch one of many performances. Always fun.
Jack Smith: Really cool historic house! Check it out!

Jakob Petrik: I spent around three hours in here with a friend. There's a section for dinosaurs, an old colonial shop and hunting lodge, a planetary space, a section showcasing North American habitats and animals, and even a game room where you can play games made by MSU students, which we spent over an hour playing. The building is old but beautifully maintained. There's no admission fee if you're a student, which is very nice. If you're an MSU student, I highly recommend you stop in the museum sometime.
Mark Tarquini: For its size the exhibits are really great and surpassed my expectations! I wish I had not put off for 20 years to stop in.
Jemry Marie: Interesting place with Interesting stuff. The 3rd floor has science projects from the students. They are very creative and imaginative. It is free to enter, free parking on the weekends.
