Brian Wade: Kris Simpson is a top-notch, professional home inspector who lives up to his inspection company's name, Honest Home Inspections! His inspection was not rushed at all, he was very thorough and extremely patient with the *many* questions I had as he carried out the inspection.Kris's knowledge is endless. He was able to answer *every* question I had, and I had a lot! And not only did he explain to me what he was doing every step of the way, he also suggested ways to fix the small things that are DIY-able.Kris went above and beyond what was expected. The roof was covered with ice and snow, so he didn't need to risk his safety to go up on it, but he did in order to closely inspect some issues with the chimney and to thoroughly scrutinize the condition of the shingles. Under those icy and snowy roof conditions, it would have been totally acceptable to just inspect the shingles from the edges at the top of a ladder, but he went that extra mile.I would recommend Kris to my family members and best of friends! If I buy another house in this area, I will look nowhere else but Honest Home Inspections.
Jeannie Klein-Gordon: I highly recommend Kris; he is awesome! I am a first-time home buyer and am currently purchasing a new construction home from across the country so I wanted an inspector to check out the home with my real estate agent present. I am glad I had an inspection, as Kris caught multiple things that the builder needed to fix! At the end of his inspection, Kris took the time to talk with me over Zoom with my agent and review his findings, recommendations, and concerns, and then showed my agent specific things to check for during the final walk through to ensure the builder fixed. After this, we received a thorough document (40 pages) detailing everything he checked, which even included recommended things to do for maintenance in the future. The document included TONS of photos of our actual home to supplement everything he observed, which was greatly appreciated.Also, when the original inspection booking had to be changed due to the builder's schedule, Kris kindly agreed to reschedule with no issues.Kris was very friendly, answered all of our questions, and you could tell he really loves his job and helping his clients. Decent report but not up to todays standards as we found a bunch of things he didn’t discuss or note on the report. Again he was $300 most are $600 so my fault.

Jobeth C: Contacted Howard late one night via phone and he took the time to pull over from his drive and talk to me about an inspection. Small thing, but I appreciated him taking the time on the spot to get our inspection on the books.He showed up early to the house (again, small thing but very appreciated as we have two babies and our time is valuable, so if he had been late it would have been a major annoyance) and was ready to start as soon as we arrived. What can I say? He is personable, knows his stuff, and was unflinchingly honest. The inspection took exactly as long as he had told us it would (two hours) and he was very thorough. He didn't mind the chaos of our kids being there, either, which was a relief because we had traveled 80 miles for the inspection and didn't want to leave them with a sitter.The process was smooth and informative, and at the end we got a very detailed report of what had been checked and the condition of everything. We got free pens, heard some stories, and overall really enjoyed the whole thing. (It's an odd thing to say we "enjoyed" an inspection, but we did!)I highly recommend Howard. There wasn't a single thing that I would change about the process and I'm really glad he is the person we ended up going with.
Paul Lippincott: I searched for and found what I thought was the perfect home as far as I could tell, I looked beyond the negative reviews in hopes that the good would outweigh the bad. I called the number on a weekend thinking I would leave a message, much to my surprise Howard picked up the phone.. Long story short after Howard had inspected the home he found multiple areas that I totally missed, I'm a bit of a handy man and don't have a problem fixing smaller things, I was able to use Howard's findings and knowledge to negotiate a better price. I can't imagine all the negative reviews are true especially if the people are unwilling to give a real name! I was not disappointed in the least and have given his name to friends looking for this service.
Daniel Score: I'm a first time home buyer, and Casey was very helpful. He answered all the questions I had, looked at anything I had concerns about, and gave a very detailed review of all his findings, including the immediate recommendations he had. He was able to make comments on the quality of the appliances/HVAC in the house, and give recommendations of how to handle some plumbing, and gas lines in the basement. I'm very happy with the work he did, and would definitely recommend!
Jill Dombrowski: We were first time home shoppers looking in the Lansing area. Casey Home Inspection arrived on the scene to inspect a house we put our first offer on. He told us from one glance the listing was inflated there was no way two bedroom would legally fit in the attic space. He didn't charge us. We consulted him again when we found a new place. He was honest, knowledgeable, and patient. In the home-buying business it was refreshing to have someone on our side.

Howard is through, provides a detailed inspection report, works hard to explain any issues that come up with the buyers and has a great understanding of MI code. Many times Howard has taken extra time with buyers concerned about issues explaining to them the options they have for repair and working to find the best solutions. If there’s a major issue he will be the first to tell us about it. I’ve worked with Howard for five years and would recommend him any day.
Caroline O: This company did a fast, and I believe inaccurate, radon inspection on a home we were selling. The radon rating came back very high even though we had only bought the house 2 years before with a very low reading. Not even sure when or how it was tested because we were still living there and were unaware of a test being conducted. Ultimately, it caused unnecessary problems during the home sale. I do not recommend.
Eric Williams: People EVERYTHING your reading here is true. If you read all these reviews and even call your foolish. In the middle of another big fix that should have been caught by this horrendous company. Currently have to sister in a joist running across the basement due to them being cut completely through in two separate places to run plumbing. Major code violation. Must have had dark sunglasses on that day in the basement. Prior to this when remodeling our kitchen, we discovered the kitchen corner had sunk almost 2 inches due to a support post that was missing from three load bearing points coming together. 2 major structural issues that should have been addressed, and have now cost us thousands before we can even do the work we want to. I won't even get started on the well issue that was overseen some how. THOUSANDS..... buyer beware. Go ahead and write your fraudulent review rebuttals like you do, but I could care less just like you do about all the people that lose money because of your actions.

I showed up to the house 10 minutes early and to my surprise, Keith was already there walking around the property. He mentioned that he has a background in teaching and is also a licensed home builder - or maybe he said contractor - either way, it's the perfect combination for this job. He was very patient with me and happy to answer all of my questions in great detail. He inspected the home on a Friday evening and I had a full report in my inbox the next morning. He showed up early, did a complete and thorough inspection of the entire property and let me know what things were good, what was bad, and what different repair options might be and how much I should expect to spend to get them done. Inspection report showed up in my email promptly, detailing all the findings and needed repairs, as well as how much useful life I should expect out of what was still good. pesfunvideos: Two days ago, Mike McNamara, of McNamara Inspection Services, performed an extremely thorough and professional inspection of an East Lansing condominium for which I had made an offer, subject to inspection. Mike worked methodically to cover every aspect of the home, taking pictures to back up his recommendations, and willingly explaining his findings as he did the inspection. After the inspection was complete, he submitted a detailed report to me, with photographs, charts and recommendations for every aspect of the property that he found would need to be addressed. His report was laid out in easy-to-follow chapters, with the headings: Roofing, Exterior, Garage, Interiors, Structural Components, Plumbing System, Electrical System, Heating & Central Air Conditioning, Insulation, Ventilation, Built/in Kitchen Appliances, Pest, with subheadings within these chapters and a General Summary at the end of the report. Mike’s recommendations and explanations during his inspection, and his comprehensive written report afterwards, enabled me to decide quickly if I should go forward with my purchase. Logan Cooley: Paul absolutely saved us a fortune finding things we would have never thought of. He takes his time instead of rushing through and gave us incredible reports. He took pictures, and created thorough reports on two different houses we looked at showing us what needed to be done and what he recommended. He even drove two hours to drop off a sample to an asbestos testing lab for no extra charge. He genuinely cares and isn't afraid to tell it like it is.
