Pulmonary & Critical Care Consultants: what do users think?
Linda Lawler: They should answer their phones instead of letting them ring forever!
Beth Co: Rude office staff. The referral process was awful. I had to make multiple calls. Waited 5 months to see a doctor after being referred. Diagnosed with being fat. Problem is I had just lost 35 lbs, never been slim, and now have a breathing issue. The Dr kept asking me why the referring physician did what she did, instead of discussing what was going on. He told me my test was inconclusive due to my coughing. I only coughed twice, and that was due to breathing difficulty. If I had to do it over I would have waited years to see Khaleeq instead of going thru all this. My overweight grandmother saw Khaleeq for years and never experienced treatment like I did from the doctor that I saw.
Heather: If I could give zero stars, I would. This facility allowed me to show up for my appt at 830AM and then told me they cancelled my appt b/c they needed authorization through my insurance which should take about 5 to 10 days. I called back 6 days later and asked if they had received the authorization and some snotty woman stated, "well it hasn't been 10 days". Then two weeks go by, I call and then Sheila cuts me off in midsentence to tell me that they can't get authorization. If that was the case, WHY DIDN'T THEY PICK UP THE PHONE AND CALL ME TO TELL ME THAT?!? Instead I've wasted a month I didn't have. This place is a joke.
Olivia Smith: My first impression of the physician I saw was that she's above average and worth your time to see. However, the staff are QUITE rude and apparently incompetent. Initially, they didn't want to schedule me a new patient appointment and just wanted to have me on the waitlist. I insisted on getting scheduled, which was good because I got in with this 4-month-out appointment before I got an appointment time I could make on the cancellation list. When I arrived, one staff member was both vocally and visually agitated talking to a patient on the phone trying to figure out how to get a wheelchair for their parent to get to their appointment. The staff person then proceeded to complain about the patient within earshot of me. The staff also entered my demographic information incorrectly but had time to stand around gossiping with colleagues. The person checking me out was also very condescending and not actually answering my questions. They also overcharged my copay. I'm going to look into other options even though I did like the physician . . . no reason to deal with rude staff when you have other facilities in the area.
K Bailey: Dr. is fine. The office staff are rude and don't take payment in the office. Then they hound you for the $20 you owe. Once I pay it, I will need to find an office who can act like a provider, not a bill collector. Take payment at the time of service and 9 times out of 10, you get the co-pay. This is $20, not $2,000. Oh and I am not fine BTW, thanks for asking.
Tina Fuller: I have always been treated with respect and friendly Dr. I once asked how there were so many Dr. caring and friendly Dr. in one office. I was told that they do a very in dept interview with each person who applies to join the office. Been with them for at least 15 years.
Cynthia Call: Dr Khaleeq is very through and emphatic with your condition and treatment. He does not rush you and answers all of your questions and concerns . The office staff is friendly and efficient. I highly recommend this specialty practice.
Alixandrea Shea: I’ve been with this office (Dr. Khaleeq) for 4 years and haven’t had a single complaint. They’ve always been extremely friendly and responsive. When I moved to Midland from Lansing, I choose to keep this specialist and make the trip back and forth for appointments when necessary. I’m not sure about the experiences of others who have reviewed, but they don’t mirror my experience whatsoever.
Rita Cunningham: Dr. Khaleeq is very through and takes time to answer any questions I might have. Plus he is up to date on all the new technology that is happening with the lungs. Office personnel very friendly and return phone calls promptly. Overall would not go any where else
Jane Olney: Jennifer Ely is the best pulmonary physician ever!
Karen Semperger: My first (and last) visit, was with a completely unprofessional and uncaring physician. This man never even introduced himself when he came into the exam room! That was a first for me. He then proceeded to review my lung CT and was abrupt in answering any of my questions. At the end of the visit he said he was my new pulmonologist, placed me on an inhaler and exited the room. I have worked in the medical field for 30 years and have never had an experience like this one. I will never go back!
Carl Bussema: They tried to call in a prescription for a drug which is federally controlled. Any physician's office should know better. They can't schedule appointments more than about 3 or 4 months out, but won't help you out by proactively calling or scheduling one for you when they open up, so you have to call in and hope that it's late enough that you can get an appointment at all, and soon enough that a time you can use is open.
A_Grey_Boy Vex: Request somewhere else! Absolute lack of care falsely diagnosed along with no paperwork being correct
R Lillywhite: An hour on hold to make an appointment.
Lisa Brinker: The lack of communication and responsiveness by this office is inexcusable. I have been leaving messages for medical assistants and for receptionists for over a month and a half. I understand that medical offices are incredibly busy having worked in one myself. However, they must have a way to communicate with patients. I do not recommend this practice.
Kevin Leininger: Overall a terrible customer service experience. I get that they are busy, but that’s no excuse for the poor communication and rude treatment. Three months ago I was referred to Pulmonary & Critical Care Consultants. When they finally responded to me, they sent me a form letter stating they had scheduled an appointment three months from now (6 month delay from when I was referred). I felt this was not only slow, but rude because they never even called me to tell me this.I called the office to specify this, and was unable to speak with a person. I was transferred to a voicemail box and told I would receive a response in 1-2 business days. At this point, I was planning to let this whole experience go... just a slow office, providing impersonal service. This morning I received a return call... the first interaction with a person! They apologized that I was upset (not because I had a legitamite complaint) and proceeded to blame my referring doctor for delaying the referral and providing incorrect contact information. Honestly, that may have been the case... doctor’s offices make mistakes. But why are you “apologizing” by saying that I’m sorry you are upset. This is insincere, and unprofessional.Bottom line - Don’t go here, they have a LONG wait time, extremely poor and rude customer service. Look for another provider that actually cares about it’s patients.
Erica Touchette: Unimpressed with this office today, we asked the dr about the risks of taking tamaflu, she seemed upset and got a little attatude. Said like what? We voiced that we heard it was causing people to have unusual behavior. She just kept saying "No no no, it's been around for years and we use it all the time. I've haven't heard any of that.." Well as we were leaving I decided to look it up on the FDA website and shocker here's the concerns. I'm disappointed, with her disregard to our concerns and her snoody answers.Q. What are the serious side effects of Tamiflu?A. Children and teenagers with the flu may be at a higher risk for seizures, confusion, or abnormal behavior early during their illness. These serious side effects may happen shortly after beginning Tamiflu or may happen in people when the flu is not treated. These serious side effects are not common but may result in accidental injury to the patient. People who take Tamiflu should be watched for signs of unusual behavior and a healthcare provider should be contacted right away if the patient shows any unusual behavior while taking Tamiflu.
