Brooke Keller: I wanted to update my 1950s kitchen and redo a closed in room to make it a screened in room. I started this process a year ago with another company to no avail. McDaniels & Granite Construction were responsive and timely in getting a quote. The work has not started yet, but I am anxiously awaiting.I worked with Nicole to design the update to the kitchen. Julie Taiber: For our huge kitchen remodeling project (entirely new footprint) with tricky constraints such as using as much of my historic cabinetry as possible, I grudgingly went with McDaniels. I hired them for a kitchen remodel about 15 years ago and was not awed, but I needed the construction company that comes with McDaniels. I was "assigned" Sarah Schnell. I can now say, after working with her these past several months to design my forever kitchen, I feel SO lucky to have gotten to work with her. She was a consummate professional. She came to the house multiple times for precision in measurements, she had so many ideas that improved the project (like a solid glass backsplash), she was an effective troubleshooter, and she never was impatient with me for last minute changes, or going back to the suppliers again and again with my constant questions. I did not have high expectations coming into the project due to my experience all those years ago, but I can confidently say that working with Sarah was a total pleasure, I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone about to embark on a remodeling project. And I know exactly who I will ask to work with on future house remodeling projects! Greg Pincumbe: Stay away from these guys. They make mistakes which cost you money, don't acknowledge their mistakes and don't respond to your complaints. I'm going to make sure all of my friends and aquantices are aware.
Deltadigs: Great service and many options to choose from. Very knowledgeable and could answer all my questions and add something to all the possibilities that were available.
Carol Payne: Customer service was the best. After doing substantial searching, with no luck, I was able to get exactly what I wanted, continued updates, and quick delivery. After no return phone calls from another shop that was recommended, I made the contact with The Kitchen Shop and was extremely pleased with every aspect and the customer service you don't find much of nowadays. Alicia Rockman: Yikes - where to begin. We chose The Kitchen Shop based on a gorgeous display in their showroom. It was exactly our vision so we decided to go with them after months of researching companies. They required that we pay our balance for new countertops and stove in full (should have been our first warning) which we agreed. When they had their team come out for a final measure, the team told us they do not install this specific type of counter edge we paid for. Apparently it’s a custom job that’s not a simple task. The question I had, as well as my sales associate from the Kitchen Shop was “why do we have this on display if we can’t do it”. Good question... They agreed to hire another guy to do the install for the job then all communication ended on their part. I called every 2 weeks for about 3 months with no new information. It really felt like they had their invoice paid and didn’t care if the job got done or not. Months went by and I finally got a hold of the installer directly, cut the kitchen shop out of the conversation and was able to get the project done. There was no follow up from them to make sure the job was done. I wouldn’t recommend them and won’t be using them for any future projects.

Nature's Cream: Horrible experience. Paid a designer to come in and measure and order appliances for us. We were clear that we wanted a countertop depth fridge. 6 months later when they were finally being installed, NONE of the new appliances fit in the spaces that they measured them for. We had to go without appliances for 3 WEEKS while we waited for them to return, and cut cabinets and countertop out in order to make the new appliances fit. In the meantime, my husband missed multiple days of work, as they kept canceling at the last minute and rescheduling. 3 weeks later they finally got everything put in (our fridge was still 3 inches past the countertop depth) and still expected us to pay full price for the installation and designer fee which went so horribly wrong.
Amy Arnold: I had a great experience working with the Kitchen Shoppe. Sara was friendly, understanding, and quick to answer all of my questions. I found the products and prices to be very competitive and they offered a one stop shop for my kitchen remodel. I would highly recommend working with them on a kitchen project.

Brian SmithRewards: In Sep, 2020, we ordered a recessed medicine wall cabinet from the Kitchen Shop through their designer Sara Whitmire, having provided her a detailed diagram and shop drawing with exact specifications, costing us $641. When it was delivered on November 13, it was 1 1/2" over specifications. We were repeatedly unable to contact Sara, so our contractor re-fabricated the cabinet, costing us $150. On Dec 9, Sara agreed to refund us that amount due to their error, but to date, they have neither paid us or contacted us back. We can not recommend a business like this that clearly has issues with telling the truth or fulfilling its obligation to provide service.

Sean Lyons: was all set for the delivery of my three items ready to install. One was not delivered and the other two were wrong. After getting the stuff finally delivered they still would not acknowledge they gave me a cabinet that was incorrect trying to tell me that is what I ordered, and were less than forthcoming acknowledging how far from great the transaction went. I had to call and hound them to get anywhere and they still barely budged and were very accusatory. I was happy to try and use a small business but their customer service need a lot of work!!
Eileen Ford: We had put off remodeling our kitchen for years and we're so happy we finally did it. Working with Melissa and The Kitchen Shop was a very positive experience. She provided design suggestions when we needed them, but never pushed or tried to sell us something we might not want. Best of all, we loved working with the contractor and the painter she recommended. They were wonderful and did quality work.

Chelsie DeLong: We ordered our cabinets and they came in two weeks, unfortunately, they came with the wrong faces, and doors. And the wrong bathroom vanity It took 3 weeks to get new doors/drawers. They came in 3 weeks later and 5 were missing/not ordered. Now we’ve waited 5 days even to hear back on when we’re going to get them in. We still don’t have the bathroom vanity. The salesman, Greg, keeps telling me “well I’m not sure how we’re holding you up with your project”. It does not matter, what matters is we’ve have terrible time just getting what we originally ordered. Now two months later the issue is still not resolved and the kitchen shop has no sympathy at all.

William Graham: The Design was Great but they Do Not Provide installers with the blueprint or plan when the cabinets are Delivered. I was told that the Installer needs to go to the Lansing office to get this, if they want it. Though I was there and had hired my own installer (who they knew), I was Not provided with the blueprint either. A Panel for my refrigerator was the wrong size, and when I asked what the cabinet company was going to do about their mistake, I was told “We have No Control over the company who makes our cabinets”. So basically their cabinet company can make mistakes, delay the delivery, or whatever they want and the Kitchen Shop doesn’t care because they Already have your money. I’d suggest looking somewhere else for a new kitchen before dealing with the Kitchen Shop. Getting a good design doesn’t help if the manufacturer isn’t held accountable in any way and can hold your kitchen renovation hostage.
Steve H: Terrible experience. Shoddy work that I had to repair. Our newly installed island had to be painted by me after the caulk they used to cover the nail holes didn't match. I was left to wire the electric up on my own. They asked me if there was power and I replied there was. Evidently that is their code for 'you will need to run the electric'. The installed countertops had to be repaired because the install was done poorly. I was asked to pay before the work was completed because the countertops were a warranty issue and not an install issue according to them. I had to run the plumbing for the gas range because they would have to hire a plumber to run it. None of these things were told to us. I have never redone a kitchen so I went to the alleged experts. When I directed all my concerns they were very sympathetic but the service stopped at the sympathy.
Cheryl Little: Our experience with the Kitchen Shop was a positive from our first visit. Their designer, John Michael, was patient and listened to my wants and needs in a new kitchen. He was a great help in executing the look I wanted. I never felt rushed, or that I was taking too much time in bringing items home to live with for a few days in my environment and light before making a decision. This was a frequent pattern for me.A deciding factor for us in selecting the Kitchen Shop was their in house contractors. We were very impressed with the efficiency of electrician, plumber and the lead installer. It worked like a well tuned operation. They always took care to vacuum and consolidate items that had not yet been I installed. I give them an A+ for organization and efficiency. The quality of the products I chose met my expectations and the staff reordered doors that didn't meet their's without any prompting from me.For us, our experience with the Kitchen Shop was nothing but positive and professional!

Ross offered compensation for lost time from work (which we said was unnecessary, but he insisted) and Ross came out the next day to give an estimate for basement remodel. Ross was very professional and answered all of our questions and got back to us with the basement quote in a speedy time. Ross, is a high energy and very kind person. Event though we did not use RL, I would still recommend them based on Ross professionalism.

Andy Whallon: Even though they had the high bid, we hired this company hoping that the higher price meant no headaches, and problems were fixed quickly. Boy were we wrong!1. They installed a new roof. It leaks.2. They installed 4 new bedroom replacement windows. They are so difficult to move, they are practically un-openable, the trim falls off easily, and the windows look odd because the upper and lower sashes aren't they same proportions to the windows they replaced.3. They painted the whole exterior, and it pealed so badly, we had to have it completely redone 3 years later.Ended up taking them to small claims court where we won on paint and lost on the windows.

During all the phases of the project, the different teams that completed the project (from drywall construction workers, to electricians, to carpenters, to painters, carpet installers and the management office) worked with great professionalism: punctual, courteous and efficient. They ensured the house was securely locked when they left at the end of their work day and when we were not home, and handled my house furniture, floors and walls with great care, when making their way toward the basement and moving construction materials around. When I had questions about the timeline or other important project details such as basement floor plans that work best for our specific needs or to place specific orders or any concern, the management was always prompt to respond and addressed my concerns and questions fully, immediately and courteously. Though the time window that I had to complete this project was relatively a tight one, RL Rider earnestly explored all the possible options to accommodate the schedule needs of my family. Marty Gibson: All interactions have been very good. The installers were excellent. There are some marks in the island counter top that are scheduled to be addressed by MKD the first week of June. Hope this address the issues.

Rick Vega: Purchased counter tops through Home Depot that MKD installed. MKD burned our first set of counter tops with a heat gun while they were trying to get the epoxy to set up. They had to remake the counter tops which they did in a hurry. The polish work on the new counter top is substandard and unacceptable. I had to take 18 hours of personal time from work to get my counter tops installed. 8 hours for a missed appointment, 8 hours for the 2nd appointment, and 8 hours for the final substandard counter top install. I reached out to MKD and have not received any reply. I reached out to Home Depot and was referred back to MKD. We will never, NEVER, use MKD again.4/25/2023 Follow up, received a call from MKD on 4/10/2023 with promise they would discuss resolution. Still have not heard anything from MKD since 4/10/2023. It's hard to trust a company when they cannot keep their word

Someone didn't like my review and asked me to remove it. They are worried about their image. Sorry but I'm speaking the truth. They keep laying people off because they make a living wage and decided it doesn't fit in their budget.

R. Morrison: As someone who works in the construction industry, run far away from this company. There is no customer service and you always get the runaround. MKD Kitchen and Bath was contracted through Home Depot to install my countertops and backsplash. The countertops have been installed but since November of 2022 I have not been able to get my backsplash installed. The installers have been out to my house three times with the backsplash being cut wrong or chipped. MKD is responsible for cutting off the backsplash and cannot get it right. This is not how you do business. At this point, I want a full refund as their work is not satisfactory or up to standard.

Jason k: Mkd themselves are horrible to deal with. Fortunately, their subcontractors are, in my experience, great crews to deal with. We bought granite counters through home depot and were forced to work through MKD. I would have to get an awfully good price to go through that headache again. The manager lady I ended up dealing with at MKD has to be one of the most incompetent and rude people I've ever met in my 25+years in the building trades. Unfortunately home depot does not offer another option in Michigan for granite.

We have an old kitchen with lots of handmade cabinets and ODD little pieces to deal with. Brandon, who took our measurements, had small suggestions that made a tremendous difference in modernizing the room - but was never pushy about anything. Matt did the install and they look beautiful. He made sure we were happy with everything and was knowledgeable as well. The only thing I can say is that I wish we had been kept more up to date. We went through Home Depot so I can’t say for sure if it was MKD or somewhere else in the chain, but I had to call a couple times when I didn’t hear back as expected. However, each person I spoke to was kind when I called. I still would recommend overall!

Even though it had been an incredibly difficult year with tons of logistical and supply hurdles to go through, we couldn't be happier with the way Brunette Home Improvement worked to make our house look stunning. John worked with us, often after-hours and on weekends to make sure that our jobs were completed to our specifications and desires. We have an incredible new elevated screened-in porch addition off the back of our house now that is absolutely gorgeous and wonderful to spend our days in. Deloris Vanderhoof: Gave them chance to bid on 2 decks.They came out. They said they would email them the next day. Nothing. Bids done on Monday…called and asked about them on Friday. Reassured arriving that afternoon. It is over a week now…no bids.🤷🏻♀️

Kameya Taylor: In May, James came by to give me an estimate. Nice, polite and knowledgeable regarding my questions and I loved his suggestions. I gave him a deposit for 50% of the project. In September Brandon and Pablo got to work on the deck. I wasn't around, but my husband said they deserve nothing less than 5 stars because of how hard they worked. Even though my yard is filled with heavy, difficult to work with clay, my new deck was completed after a week. My only complaint would be scheduling/communication. However, between contracting them and the deck completion, it was 5 months which was a better timeline than anyone else was able to give, so I was happy.
Scott: They replaced our existing deck that was unsafe and rotting with a new composite deck. The work turned out great, the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the communication and scheduling could be better.

Michele M: Here we are a couple months past. Was supposed to receive plugs for deck, never received. No phone call back or text.Also now we have water in house where upper deck is. Come to find out no metal flashing used on either deck. No return call for that either.Siding finished.The boards left from the deck install was because we wanted 2 wide steps and did not get them.Nothing besides siding completed.We needed the extra plugs due to a few missing after install and after the siders had to remove a couple boards on both decks.

We originally had Juan come quote a job, but plans changed and we decided on going a different route, but still having him do the work.Once he has your deposit, he becomes incredibly difficult to reach. The project he ended up doing for us, took weeks to complete when it should have been done in a day, MAYBE 2. He gives excuse after excuse. Would just not show up and would leave us wondering when our job would be started.We are taking them to court because we are owed over $1,000 and then magically the owner files for bankruptcy. Do not use this company!
Christina Medina: Juan is the worst person to work with, we paid $5,000 to get our bathroom remodeled and they never finished the job and the work that they did was unacceptable.
