I had an incredibly smooth experience and the coordinator Ericka was really helpful in tying the process together from start to finish. I would recommend LASIK at Specialty Institute to anyone (and in fact, have told all of my friends and family). I loved how fast the procedure was (as someone who is a bit nervous about my eyeballs being lasered). I was adequately informed about the process with a pre-op phone call from the performing doctor and very comforted in the operating room as the gift of vision was imparted on me. The healing process was so fast and I have perfect vision for essentially the first time in my life.

I told him I'm not going back there come up with another one and they did. Yesterday I had my annual appointment with this doctor. Jon Cross: I had been seeing Dr Raphael Addiego, but he is on medical leave so I had to see Dr William Rhoades instead. While I am sure that he is great for normal retina problems, I got the feeling he didn't really agree with Dr Addiego's findings (he believed a BRVO is what causes my left eye to see a curve wherever I focus). And by extension didn't care about the new vision changes I mentioned (sparkly shimmery small blob in my peripheral vision that appears related to my curve I see where I focus). I feel he assumes that because I got 20/20 on the vision test that my concerns are less valid.He also did not appreciate my curiosity about what future technology could fix a problem like mine. He didn't understand that I was asking a theoretical type question, and that I was not expecting a cure in my lifetime.Finally, he looked like he was in a rush to get on with the next patient. (Perhaps related to thinking my vision was just fine and didn't warrant extra time). I really hope Dr Addiego comes back soon, because he even called me from his personal phone one time for a follow up because he told me I am a unique case and it bugs him when something isn't explained adequately.
