I am admittedly a very specific and detail-minded customer (some might even say difficult), with what many will agree are higher than average expectations. From the beginning, Spartan Irrigation was helpful in planning for the right system, professional in nature, flexible in making changes to the plans, communicative, and just generally pleasant to work with.Carl, the manager, was particularly accommodating and responsive throughout all of our planning and implementation.Towards the end of last summer (2021), there were a few things I decided I was not completely satisfied with in the layout of the piping, and Carl committed to take care of it at the beginning of this year. He did not disappoint. This spring (2022) before the system was activated for the season, he sent a crew back and they made all the requested adjustments. No charges, no complaints, whatsoever.Additionally, just this month (May 2022), I decided I wanted to add an extension onto the system for some vegetable pots. Again, Carl was superb to work with and made it happen!All I can say is that working with Spartan Irrigation was a great experience and I will certainly be a returning customer for any future ideas or needs.

J B: I have used this company for several years and the customer service started to lag in 2020. I had assumed that it was because of COVID but fast forward to 2021 and I had to fire them. They missed my start up appointment (although they did call to say they would be "late"). When I told them it would have to be rescheduled, I was told that it would be over a month before they could come out as they would not be "in the area" again until then.I asked to speak to the manager and I was told they would give him a message. I then asked for a number to contact him directly and was told that they would not give me his number. I then told them to have him call me and have yet to hear back from them.Since I prepaid for the season I am also having to fight with them for a refund.Very disappointing from a once reputable company.UPDATE:I did finally hear from someone on May 6th. It was a cordial conversation and the manager did take responsibility for the failure on their part. I was also told that a refund check would be sent out immediately and it was received by me on May 8.Unfortunately, the manager stated that she had just heard about the problem which was why it had taken so long to hear from them. As I stated to her, I would probably still be a customer if I would have been able to escalate my issue at the time and not given the run around. Unfortunately, my complaint taking a week to find it's way to someone who could potentially resolve it goes back to the lack of overall customer service and the reason they no longer have my business. Sara Pilar: What an awful company with awful management. I have been trying to contact them for over three weeks asking them to sign a paper stating my husband no longer works there. No one ever returned my calls or my email so my husband stopped by and an employee said a manager would be there at 8am and 4pm. So I stopped by shortly after 4pm and everyone had already left for the day other than a really nice employee who called his manager for me, they said to come back at 10am the following day which I did. I spoke with Michael (who I think is the owner) and he refused to sign a simple paper stating my husband is no longer employed by them. He told me it was a scam, threatened me, cussed me out and screamed in my face. I'm honestly shocked a business owner would completely flip out like that over a simple piece of paper, especially since I had my kids in the car with me. I can't even imagine how they treat their employees or customers they do work for. I would never reccomend this company to anyone, just an awful person who clearly has some issues if he speaks to people that way.

This crew does a very nice job at scraping the pavement and clearing the entrances/exits, and making sure not the block in doorways. The seem to have all the equipment for taking care of the snow.

I asked Jed if it was a fungus or disease and he said no the grass is dormant from the heat and told he I think there is could he come and look at it and never showed. I called the main office in Lansing and left a message, no one seemed to care either no returned my call. Vince Pipitone: We purchased a house that dan had already installed the sprinkler system, so we decided to continue using them for service and maintenance after 1 year of dealing with them we realized the poor customer service they provided. We would call 4-5 times before a call back from dan if we were lucky, this spring i called 6 weeks prior to our scheduled service call and let the secretary know that the programmer box was not working last fall and to bring a new one, she says ok dan will call you after 2 weeks of no dan we called back again and got the same response 4 weeks go by no dan, the morning of the service call i called and they said no problem the workers will bring a new box , the workers show up without the box and say well we can not start your system without a new box “unreal” we promise to be here in the morning with a new programmer and start the system, 2 days pass and i call in the secretary says dan will call you with cost of new box, i say no thanks please refund me our anual fee and she says no problem check will be in the mail and as she hangs up i here her say what a dumb ### terrible customer service i would never recommend these guys

Brian McLaughlin: Completely unprofessional company. My house is a new build, and the builder used this company. Decided to continue service through their contract. Older gentleman (Rick I believe) came out to service my system since I had some larger areas that were browning, while others were getting the little mushrooms and rather soft. He made some adjustments, and I watched the system for a week to see if it helped. Some improvement but still had large brown areas despite the system running 120%. So I asked him to come out again. Guy shows up an hour and half early during my daughter’s nap. Talked to him about the problem. So he asked me to stand in the middle of the brown area I was concerned with and then he turned the system on and manually turned the sprinkler head right at me! Completely soaked. I told him to leave and cancel my contract.

Avni Tokhie: We have only had Spring for a year so far but we love them! It is a father and son business and they are very prompt with their service. We just got steps put into our backyard and the concrete guy said he could situate the sprinklers but he just left a mess! Eric came the next day (after meeting during our appointment) and fixed EVERYTHING. Spring is a great company and I would suggest them to anyone.
