Fox Park Public Observatory: what do users think?
Gi Mu: Very nice place!! But no dogs allowed. Swimming areas, picnic areas with picnic tables and grills, quiet. My first visit (do not live in Eaton Co. so fee was only $5.00.
Charles Taricska: Great spot not too far from Lansing to get out under some dark Skies and get the chance to take a look through the telescopes they have setup in Observatory. It is a large open air Observatory with plenty of room to spread out. They have a large 16inch telescope along with many smaller scopes set up to view the many seasonal faint deep sky objects. Highly recommend visiting.
Chelsea Polk: The guys that volunteer their time and energy to run this observatory are wonderful. My kids learned so much and cannot wait to return for another viewing!
james presely: Loved the place, enabled us to see the comet Neowis.
Neal Langford: FPPO is nice place to do some night sky viewing. It is relatively dark for a place not too far from the city. There is a nice setup there and some of the volunteer members bring their own equipment. Volunteers are very friendly and do well to promote amateur astronomy.
Diane James: What a great place. Volunteer s who are excited to share their knowledge and show you the stars.... thanks guys😄
Aaron Lopez: The volunteers who run the observatory really make going a great experience. We've been a couple times and will be going back.
Nichol Hare: Great family swim hole
Richy Ramirez: It's a fun place to swim if you can deal with the occasional smoker, smoking cigarettes. I went 3 days in a row & it did not happen all the time, but enough for it to be annoying.
Paul Bielawski: A local treasure
Christopher Conn: Fun place to swim and play.
Stephenie Napier-Simpson: Fantastic evening! All the volunteers we're extremely knowledgeable and shared their telescopes with us! Will definitely return!
Brie Treloar: It's a small community swim area that's typically pretty busy and not always the cleanest place to swim but I must say they have added some new play equipment for smaller kids which is nice
