I have been paid back $500 of the $1900 refund agreed upon.Previous post:The company’s Facebook page where a group of us shared how we felt scammed has been deleted. After he agreed to pay back my $1900 deposit, he kept putting off when so I offered installments, the first payment just 10% or $190. He said he needed a couple weeks to get it and after I messaged him a couple times after those weeks past... he asks for another couple weeks. How would he have paid a crew to do my job if he didn’t even have 10% of my deposit left prior to doing ANY work? A legitimate business would take out a loan to pay their debts (including my deposit) rather than spend deposits leaving no funding for actually completing jobs those deposits are for... those funds are also must be separated from the owners personal funds for LLC purposes. However, the owner could also “lend” the company money with little paperwork. Yet here I am because $190 could not be afforded by the company.The reasons he used for not doing the job in the agreed original time was that COVID made him behind but he originally agreed to do the work in a couple weeks in AUGUST 2020, when COVID would not cause any surprises. He also said the weather turned too cold but that happened only after the originally agreed upon time. His excuse for not originally contacting me was a personal emergency made him leave town. His excuse this week about paying me back the 10% was he totaled his car.He is trying to say he had some quotes this week so he may be collecting deposit $ and can pay the $190, but then will he have the funds to actually do those jobs he gets deposits for? I was suspicious that he was collecting deposits with no intentions of completing the jobs (that would be fraud, not protected by LCC) and considering there was no funding left to complete my job, my suspensions continue. I am not the only one this has happened to and I have screen shots from the now deleted company Facebook group of others who had deposits taken and no work done if you contact me.Previous version of review: Took deposit to do job with an estimate that it would be done in a few weeks... but then did not hear from him and could not reach him for a couple months (calls went straight to voicemail). He called me back and agreed to give me my deposit back but keeps pushing the date. Chase Orr: Two months ago, I kicked off a project (much to my wife's chagrin) to finish up painting our garage and adjacent workshop area, to turn it from more of a contractor's storage area to somewhere a little more modern and less dusty.After figuring out that we needed to tape , I set about talking to contractors. I left a voicemail with Shiny Paintings amongst others, and was pleased when they followed up with me a few days later. Scheduling an in-person visit took a little bit of time but Shiny Paintings followed up promptly with a clear and reasonable quote via email.It took me a month or so to get the work scheduled as a i figured out exactly what the right order of events.Shiny Painting also answered some of the more basic questions I had, and provided an insightful recommendation about which texture to use. I appreciate that he was very patient and when I was finally ready to schedule, he put us in his backlog and kept in touch with the projected start date.He and his crew painted almost every square inch of our floor and prevented any unnecessary mess. They also wore masks throughout and were very courteous and friendly. I was expecting to be doing a lot of cleanup afterwards but overall, it's much better than I expected!The overall finished painting looks great. It already looks much much better than before. Shannon Werner: This group was not dependable or reliable. They did not keep their commitments and there was no "crew" to speak of. They had 5 or 6 workers in and out of my home (never more than 2 at a time) and at some point, they got confused and used a semi gloss and a flat finish in more than half the house. It all has to be redone. When I complained, Adam said we already had our walk through so I would have to pay a service charge. I declined. The project went over double the time they estimated. They worked in every room at the same time and left a mess in all the rooms, which I cleaned up or had someone clean up (Adam gave me a $300 discount because of the mess). Especially the kitchen and bathroom where they washed their brushes. The pile of lint/carpet fibers/padding is what I picked off the walls lining the stairwell that they painted over. At the time, the house was vacant so I gave them keys to access the property. I have asked for the keys numerous times but they have never been returned. Dai Yoshida: First, they imply that they have a whole crew of painters. They don't. They subcontract to a handyman outfit, not professional painters.Asked them to paint foyer, hallway, one bedroom and two closets in July. They quoted a price for 5 day job. From past experience with numerous painters I assumed they would spend one day taping, two days for one coat and two days to finish. They called few weeks later to tell us that they have an opening in the work schedule to start our project the next day. It was short notice but we agreed.They did not tape and began painting right away, dragging one, count it, one plastic tarp among half dozen men. There were paint on the light fixture, the hardwood floor and the concrete stairway. They called the next day to tell us that they had a family emergency and will not return for a few days. (No, they had another job to go to. I didn't mind the delay. I do mind the lying) They came back, spent half day and told us they were finished. A day and a half work for a 5 day job. I told them what they want to hear to make them leave. The longer they stayed the more damage they were going to do.We called the guy and gave him a list of items they missed. (All the doors, two closets, baseboard, etc.) It was my son's room and they couldn't do much damage there. He sent two guys on a Sunday to clear the list. (These guys were actual painters). I praised the two guys for the job. They did the best they could in half a day to fix what the other guys did. I only wished these two guys were here from the beginning, and actually spent 5 days to do the job right the first time.We are slowly fixing the mess they made. My wife spent days scrubbing the paint off the concrete stair. I can't get the paint off the antique wood finish without damaging it.This house is a historical structure built in 1929 with original fixtures. We lived in this house for over 16 years. We've had many painters come through. These guys were the first to not tape before painting, first to not tarp the floor and first to only give a single coat. This was the worst paint job in the history of paint jobs. Google will not let me give a negative star.Services:Door painting,Interior painting

Sarah Dempey: We hired Painter1 to paint some rooms in our upstairs. The paint was poor quality, which was even stated by the painter himself, and then the painter failed to cover or protect any surfaces that were not being painted which resulted on spilling paint in multiple places on my carpet. He also tried hiding a large spot where he spilled paint underneath his supplies. Then when I was told thay they would send cleaners to do the carpet, they sent someone out that hand rubbed a chemical on the spots and it did nothing except make the spots now greasy. Nakoma Hills: Manuel at Ingham Painting was very professional. I contacted his company after going thru 5 other estimates. His company was the only company willing to do one room at a time & move all the furniture to the center of the room & put it all back after the paint dried, which was 1 hour drying time. They painted using rollers & brushes. The painters were very professional, wore masks as I am immunocompromised and came on time every single day. Worked around our schedule and painted all different colors in different rooms & walls as I wanted. We had all the interior repainted, ceilings, walls, baseboards caulked & painted, all door trim and mouldings. They fixed the ceiling cracks from our 1951 plaster & wall defects from remodeling over the years. The finished job is beautiful and looks better than I could have painted and I am very picky. Manuel's pricing was extremely reasonable and I will definitely use him again. The paint used was high quality from Sherwin Williams with 0 VOC specifically designed for unhealthy people. There was NO odor and dried in 1 hour. We put our pictures right back up when they left each day. Everything was taped off & covered nicely. Clean up daily was excellent as if they were never here. I highly recommend Ingham Painting. Definitely the best job for your buck! Thank you Manuel & crew. We are very happy with our new interior painting.
