Dr. Jacob Myers DDS PLLC: what do users think?
Christopher Kenroy: These people are amazing! I highly recommend them for your child’s dental care.
Karen Franks: All of the staff is so amazing and supportive the doctors are phenomenal absolutely love the office and the train is so great kids love watching it go through the office...so happy we found this place!!! The front staff informed us when I made the appointment that our insurance is out of network but assured us they would do everything possible to keep our out of pocket expenses as low as possible we could not be happier with our decision to chose this office even with the out of pocket expenses you can't put a price on this level of care and commitment looking forward to getting to know everyone better as we continue the journey of healthy smiles for our little man.
Ryan Thomas: "Requires" a mask still...no thanks
Makel Church: Amazing and kind dentist! Wish I could give him more stars!
Laura Pylman: Very happy with our visit. My son can be very active and gets anxious. They were the perfect mix of being patient and accommodating, while still getting the job done.
Stephanie Goetzinger: I just want to start out by saying that the Dr's and back office staff are amazing and did such a great job with our son on both visits. However the front office staff needs additional training, the reason for the 1 star review! Our 1st appointment was booked out 4 months in advance, wouldn't you think when the appointment was made they would let us know that we were out of network with our insurance? Nope! So we show up for our 1st appointment and at no point in time were told that we were out of network but it sounds like according to others reviews that they pick and choose. We were actually told and I quote by the front office that "they are sending it off to both insurances and didn't anticipate there being a balance at all." So we show up for our surgery day and get all checked in and are told we have a balance of $634.50. I asked for what and was told that this was the portion insurance didn't cover. So I'm annoyed because of previous conversation with said girl and she proceeds to tell me and I quote "Blue Cross will send you a check in a few days for that same amount, we are just out of network so you pay us and then they reimburse you directly." I even repeated it to her, so I'm paying $634.50 today and in a few days I will have a check in the mail from Blue Cross for $634.50, and she said YES!!!! Bold face lie that was! I called Blue Cross 2 weeks later and they said they sent a check to the office directly. So my husband and I both called them and they gave us the run around about insurances and how they have to hold onto the check and then figure out what if any we would be getting back. No one would address the fact that the girl up front told us that we would be getting the same amount we paid in a check from Blue Cross, just kept changing the subject. I did insurance authorizations/billing for a busy optometrists office for 4 years and this is just absolutely unacceptable. If your staff doesn't know the answer to something it's ok to say I don't know or let me check and ask someone who does, instead of flat out lying! Then here we are today, received a call that we will be getting a credit of $269.00, not even close to what we were told! YOUR OFFICE NEEDS TO DO BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Elizabeth Lusty: We got lucky and got an emergency appointment with Dr. Myers after my son fell and chipped his front teeth. He was awesome and gave us options and really gave us reassurance. Great bedside manner and great with kids. Highly recommend.
Cool Spam: Practice makes it extremely confusing having different plans they pick and choose to accept. One day you might go in and it’s free next time they hit you with a bill. We had this experience at our last dentist and explained to them in great detail before even making initial appointment (said they notated it in patient notes). After today’s appointment at check out they told me I had a balance due, I asked them to double check because last time it was covered 100%. After receptionist did some asking to her co-workers, her solution was I should have picked another day. Like how was I supposed to know each day they pick a different insurance to accept. Poor job on receptionist making appointment to verify, it’s too bad they’re soiling practice’s trust and integrity.
Sean Kelley: Kids love going. Lots of toys and things to do. The staff is very nice and helpful.
Traci Good: I truly am blessed to find Dr. Myers! My daughter was born with Williams Syndrome. Her hearing is super sensitive. She is scared of noises. It’s been a struggle finding a dentist for her. Being gased is what scared me the most because of her heart. Being embarrassed because of my child’s sensory was something I was scared of also. I took the chance and went here and it was such an amazing experience. Dr. Myers and his team and even the lady’s in the front are so wonderful and understanding. They made our first 2 visits just unbelievable. Thank you all for the time and understanding. I highly recommend this place to everyone!
Anna Ordukhanyan: Thank You Doctor Jacob Myers!!!You did awesome job!!!Thank you sooo much!!!
Erin Edwin: I highly recommend Dr. Jacob Myers! My almost 4-year-old daughter had a GREAT experience this office! Her dental hygienist, Lisa, was excellent at talking to my daughter and explaining things to her. Dr. Myers and the front office staff were also very kind and interacted well with my child, who is usually anxious in new situations. (She had previously been going to a dentist who was a general practitioner and she would barely let the dentist examine her teeth, not to mention clean them.) At Dr. Myers' office she had no fear at all!
Amanda Nemeth: I made an appointment with this office 3 months ago for my former foster son. He has a complicated medical history but currently is healthy and not considered a high risk dental patient according to all of his specialists and his PCP. I warned the office about his conditions at the time of appointment scheduling, and was told that we will discuss at our first visit. Flash forward to 3 days before our scheduled appointment. I get a phone call from a receptionist who told me that the dentist has cancelled our appointment because he is too risky to be seen in their office. Since he has been cleared by several other physicians to be a routine dental patient, I was quite thrown off. I asked if would could still come in for a consult to discuss the risks in more detail, considering myself and the biological family all took the day off of work for the appointment. The receptionist the said no, because “it’s just not a good fit”. At that point I knew this had nothing to do with “risk”. She wasn’t even willing to speak to us. The only conclusion I have to make is that because my foster son is on Medicaid with a family who does not speak English, he is not worth the hassle for this dentist to even have the decency to speak to us in person or on the phone. Saying that we are “not a good fit” is coded language and felt like my foster son was being discriminated against. I can’t imagine that this dentist would turn away a consult for a white, English speaking or privately insured patient with the same medical conditions.
Mickayla Narlock: I was very upset that I was pressured into leaving my barely 4 year old to go back to her appointment alone. I told them I was uncomfortable and they brushed it off and pressured more and one of the dental hygienist became very annoyed. I had my 18 month old with me, so I had no choice but to leave my 4 year old, or leave and cancel the appointment. I should have just canceled but Covid had already delayed their dental care by months. I’m very upset the office put me in that position. Especially when my daughter wanted me there and she acts fine when I’m in the room. Two stars instead of 1 because the office was clean and had great covid precautions and cute kid movies. But can’t get over how uncomfortable they made the whole experience. (It was not covid policy that prevented me from being back)Edited to add response: as I had mentioned, it was not covid policy that was preventing me from being back with my oldest, as I was one parent with two kids. It was the very uncomfortable pressure to have my oldest alone even though she was not comfortable and I was not comfortable and I spoke with the hygienist about that. The hygienist became annoyed and pressured more leaving me feeling like I didn’t have a choice. Had it not been for covid delaying their care already I would have just walked out and still wish I had because it was not worth it for my daughter to now cry when I mention the dentist. I understand if a child wants to go back alone or if the parent and child are comfortable with that. But in a case where neither the parent or child are comfortable, it was a very awful experience being pressured in that way.
Lydia Tang: My family has really enjoyed going to this office. They have a whimsical train that travels throughout the office. The staff are all very kind and knowledgeable and my kids were never afraid of going to the dentist! Unfortunately, I switch jobs and they don't work with my current insurance, otherwise we would stay with them. A great option for folks with Delta Dental!
Michael Beliew: Organized reception staff. Prompt evaluation and treatment. Professional and very accommodating to children. Easy 5 star review
Amanda VanDyke: Couldn’t be happier with this office. The staff are fantastic and it’s such a fun environment for the kids! I wish this could be MY dentists office!! :)
Elle A.: Very patient and caring staff for my SPD child.
Dan: My son is 2 and a half years old. He had his second dentist appointment with Dr Myers. The staff is very warm and friendly. They are taking all Covid precautions including ventilation and vaccinations for staff - this tells me they take your health seriously. Lisa, my son's hygienist, was extremely friendly and engaging. She did an excellent job explaining the sounds and feelings of dental instruments. My son was a bit shy at first but the choo choo train that goes around the office and a big, stuffed Mickey Mouse in the corner helped ease the tension. Bedside manner aside, the staff is very open and willing to answer any questions you might have in general or specifically regarding your child's (or your) dental health, helpful eating habits, etc. I would strongly recommend Dr Myers office to anyone in the Greater Lansing Area looking for a great dentist office for their children.
Stacy Volkers: Dr. Myers and his team were amazing! Our 20 month old suffered a dental injury one night while we were on vacation in Michigan. After a quick Google search while were in the ER at Sparrow I stumbled upon his pediatric dentist office. I called the emergency line in a panic and he listened to me and eased my worries, even though we were not patients. He had his receptionist call us first thing in the morning with his availability and they were able to work us in that day. His entire staff was very helpful and accommodating. They took x-rays and photos and sent them on to our dentist here in Kansas. Dr. Myers was gentle, caring and took time to answer all my questions and concerns. They went above and beyond for us, even though we were not current patients and were from out town. If you are looking for a pediatric dentist in the Lansing/East Lansing area, this is your guy!
Maranda Gurnee: I have been taking my daughter here since she was 3 years old. I highly recommend this place, everyone is great.

Dexter Scott a DDS: what do users think?
Brian Seidenstucker: We have been taking our son to see Dr. Dexter for many years without issue. We were in the process of moving and unknowingly missed our son's appointment. They did not contact us prior to the appointment or after it was missed. My wife called to set up an appointment and was told that Dr. Dexter would not see our son unless we paid $200 for the missed appointment. We were told there was nothing that could be done because Dr. Dexter made the decision. They would not woek with us at all. The receptionist was extremely rude and condescending stating that yes $200 is a lot of money, but the staff was there and the lights were on costing them money. When I mentioned the staff and lights would have been on anyway, she told me it sure helps when there is someone in the chair paying for it. I was never naive enough to believe that they were not about making money, but I was fooled into believing that Dr. Dexter actually cared about his patients, which we now know is not true, it is only about the money. They would not offer ro work with us at all, it was either pay $200 or not be seen again. Basically pay the extortion, or find a new dentist. We asked to have our son's records sent to us and will be finding a new dentist. The front desk staff is rude, condescending and unwelcoming. I do not recommend Dr. Scott Dexter at all. He makes you feel valued, when the only thing he values is the patient's money and not the patient. Don't fall for his charade, find a different dentist.
Suzanna: Don’t even deserve a one star. We didn’t show up because we were getting tested for covid and omg god forbid I held off from calling them to let them know because we were all sick. They sent us a $200 bill and won’t accept my kids back until it’s paid. Literally just found this place and screw them. Won’t ever recommend them!
Jodie Sovis: I enjoyed this dentist office as a child myself. Now my kids get their teeth cleaned here also. Great staff. My kids love going to the dentist!
Sara Snow: All 4 of my children have seen Dr Dexter and they've all had great cleaning and fillings ( when needed) no complains. All have wonderful teeth!
Desi: After looking for doctor for our kid for quite some time, and interviewing few doctors for his dental treatment, we were referred to Dr. Dexters office and boy we are glad. Dr. Dexter was very thorough and upfront about the treatment plan for our kid. He explained the treatment plan to us in detail and answered all our questions to our satisfaction. We had to visit 3times as there were couple of extractions, filling and spacers involved. His office even shared his cell phone number with us in case we need to call him, in case our child was experiencing pain. The drive to Dr. Dexter's office was about 1.5hours for us but it was all worth it. After every treatment Dr. Dexter would call personally in the evening to inquire about how the child was doing and behaving, and offer suggestions and guidance on how to help the kid if he had any sort of pain. This shows his concern for the well being of his patient which at least to us is truly outstanding and commendable. What else can a parent ask for. We are very thankful to Dr. Dexter and his staff for helping our child and recommend him.
Sarah Kwilinski: It took us four weeks of phone tag to get our initial appt. He said my daughter has two cavities that need to be filled under sedation. That was three weeks ago and the incredibly rude and condescending receptionist still won't book the cavity-filling appointment. Wallpaper is peeling off the walls; the office is empty of patients. Worst of all--their policy during cavity filling is to sedate the children and then separate them from the parents. What mother would allow her young, vulnerable daughter to be completely alone with an adult male for over an hour?? In the age of Larry Nassar I cannot believe any medical professional would require this practice. We have moved on to another dentist. This place gives me the creeps.
Ayse Sapmaz: They just called us and ask to change our son dentist in a month before his next appointment. It was very very rude behaviour.
Jimmy L Lang: My three year old sons teeth were simply a train wreck. Dr Dexter fixed them up great. I have no complaints and they walk you through each step. He has called the evening of major work being done to be sure my son was doing ok. Scheduling can sometimes be an issue as they are in very high demand. There are simply very few that do the invasive procedures on children that he does. Thank you!
Victoria Shishkina: Nothing but good experience. They prefer children to go by themselves in the exam room which actually worked with my son. I was a little anxious about it at first, but I have to admit that he did better without me. Dr. Dexter was very detailed about treatment plan and gave a great explanation on the x-ray.
Jill Spiers: The office was clean and had a nice toy filled area for the kids. Dds Scott was great with my 4 yr old daughter. He was very thorough explaining her x-rays.
Jennifer Publow: I was referred here for my 7 year old daughter who has a huge hole in her tooth that is infected due to a filling falling out- I called to set up my appointment for her as her Dentist said it is going to require some work to save the tooth as she does not have an adult tooth under it ever growing in. So he wanted to save the tooth. Called and spoke to the receptionist regarding this and asked her how long before they will be able to see my daughter as it is important we get in soon she is on antibiotics to get rid of the infection until we can go get the work done in this office- needless to say as im talking to the receptionist and asking how long the wait is or how long she will be dealing with this. I was told well to be honest a hole just don't appear over night so thats on you- first of all I explained it was a filling that fell out! and she was rude! ended up telling me they just wont see my child in that office and hung up on me. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I WORK IN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND IF I EVER TOLD SOMEONE THAT AND TURNED A CLIENT AWAY I WOULD LOST MY JOB. I WILL REFUSE TO EVER STEP FOOT IN THIS OFFICE AND I WILL BE SURE TO LET OTHERS KNOW JUST THE SAME. POOR POOR POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE I CAN JUST IMAGINE HOW THEY ARE WITH CHILDREN.
Hannah Christian: Dr dexter is horrible to children I went there when I was 3 years old & I had falled needed my two front teeth pulled out & he never once numbed me or anything whatsoever & he slapped me when I was crying telling me to “shut up” again I was 3 years old and he pulled my two front teeth no numbing gel or shot just went in and pulled them like it was nothing slapped a crying 3 year old telling her to shut up wouldn’t recommend going to him . My mother never believed me until I was about 15 & one of her friends kids was harnessed to the seat and is or was suing him .
Kelly Taylor: Great dentist for kids
Mykela Unzueta: They want a 24 hour notice before you cancel or reschedule. So if life happens they can no longer see your child after 2 missed appointments. The receptionist who answers the phone in Lansing is awful. Clearly she needs to brush up on her customer service skills.

Discover Smiles Pediatric Dentistry: what do users think?
Chelsea: Waited MONTHS to get my daughter into this office for a Frenectomy consult. They rescheduled my appointment 3 times for “scheduling conflicts”. Mind you, they schedule MONTHS out because they said doctor is the only one that does them. So a 2 month wait turned into being rescheduled 3 times 6 months out from our original appointment. I understand doctors need vacations and emergencies come up, but seriously? I just cancelled the last appointment they tried to reschedule & already got into another office and scheduled her Frenectomy. Poor customer service!
Crystal Rendina: They were good with my daughter until the Work that was planned was not completed under anesthesia as stated it was. Anesthesia Is a big deal and for more work needed after Anesthesia was a shock and I was extremely disappointed. I just wanted an apology and the best dental care . I know she is good at what she does when it’s completed . But instead they let my daughter go as a patient. As if I had done something wrong… I just wanted answers of why the work didn’t get finished and what went wrong , instead I got coverup answers and a letter of dismissal. I just needed great dental work for my kid so we could finally relax and the work be all done . I honestly didn’t even want to review this place I wanted to try to work on the dentist patient trust and continue her care there. And to finish the treatment in the future when she was a little older, to be able to sit through it. I’ll be forced to move on and complete the work with someone else. Completely unnecessary and lack of empathy for my kid as a patient. She’s the one who suffers the most in the end .
Lark B: I cannot say enough good about this place. We've been to other dentists with our kids (both pediatric and general practice) and literally thank God that we finally landed here. One of our children has health problems that require special procedures and clearances and I cannot believe how far everyone at Discover Smiles bends to get her taken care of not only how she needs it but when she needs it. My other child talks about how much he loves the dentist and how she's his buddy. It's wonderful to be working with people who get kids so well and are clearly out to help and care.
Carin Ronan: We had a good experience with the clinical staff, but a terrible experience with the office staff. We felt rushed to get a tongue/lip tie release done just to have us pay out of pocket and feel uneasy about the insurance process. We were told we had to pay the full total out of pocket, then we were given a printed off medical necessity letter and we had to submit the claim to the medical insurance company. We were told if the medical insurance company does not accept the claim, then we can call the dental office and they would try to bill the dental insurance. Our medical insurance denied the claim stating it needed a prior authorization. I called the dental office and explained, just to be told they don't send in prior authorizations because they don't "deal" with the medical claim. So I asked them to bill the dental insurance, just to be told in ONE MINUTE over the phone of her checking "your dental insurance doesn't cover the procedure". They could have looked at that before I paid out of pocket - I feel lied to and deceived just to get my money. I will not take either of my children to this facility primarily due this situation.
Melissa Akers: We absolutely love our visits with Discover Smiles! My 3 year old has a great time every appointment. We used candy as a potty training tool so she has had silver diamine fluoride to help stop some weaker spots in her teeth. We have learned some tips to keep her teeth and overall health in tip-top shape! We loved our visit with Ms. Alyvia and Dr. Melisa! Thank you for making the visits fun!
Corey Vincent: I wasn't able to come in to my daughter's appointment but her mom was and she said they were great also love the location
Taryn Zischke: Amazing staff and office! Our 5 year old is never worried or scared one bit and she loved the tv on the ceiling!!
Walter Middlebrooks, III.: Courteous staff and "kid-centric" environment for children. Excellent combination for a stress-free visit!
Latoya Nelson: Great practice! Excellent care! We love Dr. Ramaswami and her team. Dr Ramaswami takes the time to listen; she is patient; and she sees you. We have had great experiences with all the dental hygienists so far. Today, we took our son in for routine cleaning and the hygienist, Kyle was great. My son was not having it today but Kyle took the time to make him feel comfortable enough to get through the cleaning. Dr Ramaswami did the same when she did the routine check. Finally, I had some questions for some issues my son is experiencing and Dr. R took the time to answer my questions. Every parent needs this level of support especially for toddlers. We are thankful!
Diana Dora: My son's first appointment was here today recommended from my brother and sister in law. Absolutely wonderful. My son cried and they were so patient and kind with him. Tried to distract him. Both the hygienist (I believe it was Anna) and the doc were amazing!
Amanda Wrubel: Absolutely amazing experience, great staff, friendly and awesome service/communication.
Crystal Bailey: All the staff is phenomenal with my little guy. Very professional and well versed with working with children. Big shout out to Ann, she's amazing.
Dusty Carl: The best kids dentist in Michigan!
Tom Grden: Dr Melissa was great with our son. He sat still and listened the whole time. They had some great tips on how to brush a toddlers teeth!
Alysha DeMay: Pros: hygienist and dentist were great. Very friendly and made the experience comfortable for my 2 year old.Cons: communication - I provided my insurance information 3x yet no one informed me they do not take the most common type of insurance: BCBS. Very frustrating to be surprised with a $200 bill at the end of our appointment.Punctuation - we waited 20 mins after the scheduled appointment time before being called back. Everyone was leaving for lunch and they locked the front door. So weird. Made me very uncomfortable to wonder if we were forgotten. Finally - For some reason they schedule new patients in my sons age group only at 12:20 or 12:30 which is right at nap time. Why?
Melissa Haddad: Very friendly, patient, and accommodating office!
j cool: 10 years my kids have been going there and $100 to reschedule. Outrageous.
Alain Nkurikiyinka: The best customer service, all the staff makes eye contact and say hi to you. They have a very professional team that knows how to make a child comfortable throughout the visit. Honestly this was the best experience I have had in health care so far.
Beatrice Barajas Mills: My son has Autism and does not deal well with anxiety towards people, and has sensory issues. At Discover Smiles, he has not had any issues since day one, and surprisingly looks forward to going to see the dentist. I'm a very lucky mom to have been referred to Discover Smiles. A huge Thanks!¡ to all the staff and Dr. Ramaswani 😀
Michele Dwyer: Fantastic experience, every time!
Andrea Childress: Thank you from the bottom of my heart for an absolutely wonderful first visit from start to finish! 🙏❤️ We had a few less-than-stellar experiences with our nervous patient at other “pediatric” dentists so I was hoping this office would work for us. Happy to report that our expectations were exceeded at every turn, and our child raved about how awesome the appointment was. Thank you all! A great team!

Dr. Melvin S. Jung, DMD: what do users think?
aminah hossein: This is absolutely worse place to take your kids to.Extremely rude staff and racist staff. They went for such an aggressive treatment for my 4 yr old putting him under General anesthesia. They poorly communicated with me and end up having me rescheduling me with heavy amount.I recommend DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS to this place!!
Lauren Polzin: Dr. Jung is friendly and helpful! We have had nothing but good experience with him for the past 5 years!
Angeleah Lynch: Dr Jung is knowledgeable and works well with both patients and parents. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a good pediatric dentist.
Laura Listerman: My children have been coming here for over 10 years. We live about 40 minutes away but it is well worth!!! Dr Jung has done an awesome job, including an emergency call & care for my oldest son ~ almost lost his front tooth due to colliding with a fellow basketball player.
Melissa Brannan: Dr. Jung is a great pediatric dentist! He take the time to explain any issues and truly handles your kids with care! Thank you Dr. Jung!
Deidre Brunner: I couldn't be more pleased with the care he gives to his patients. His staff has to be the best around. Dr. Jung explains everything to us in detail.
Sherry Martin: My kids have been coming here for 11 years! Still love it. I highly recommend these folks. Very friendly. Very knowledgeable. Very responsive. And for the little ones, very entertaining:)
Adam Alexander: Dr. Jung made me the best mouthpiece that I've ever worn.It has definitely saved my teeth during combat sports competition.
Shawn Benavidez: I have been taking my son to Dr. Jung for over eight years. I couldn't be more pleased with the care he gives to his patients. His staff has to be the best aaround. Dr. Jung explains everything to us in detail. My son turns 18 soon and he plans on staying with the awesome care that Dr. Jung and his staff gives.
Ashley Marie: This office came highly recommended to me through a friend of mine. Her kids love visiting Dr. Jung and staff, and now mine do too!I am so grateful, and beyond pleased that I decided to make the switch to someone who specializes in children ... as my oldest unfortunately had a traumatizing experience at our old general dentist. I will not be making that mistake again.I couldn’t ask for a better dentist. It is easy to see that Dr. Jung really cares about his patients. In fact, my husband has had to change jobs in the past year... and as a result our insurance coverage has drastically changed. But I still continue to bring my kids here because I simply do not trust anyone else!
xlatin: Great Dentist!
Sas Squach: Wonderful atmosphere with very friendly staff. Was very pleased with the treatment my daughter recieved from Dr. Jung. Would recommend this office to anyone
BRANDA MELINN: Awesome dentist and great staff! Highly recommended!!!!!
Jesse Wright: Absolutely love this dentist and his amazing staff. Great with my son and very positive people!
Angalee Blatter: Hands down, the worst dental experience I have ever had, and I wasn't even the patient. I took my son here to get a cleaning done and he had some cavities. I will never go back and do not recommend anyone taking their kids here.
