Sparrow Diabetes & Endocrinology Services: what do users think?
Jennifer VanPeenen: NP doesn't listen to my concerns, refuses to order requested lab work.
Tom McIntire: I have read these reviews on Google and I'm amazed honestly. I've never had an issue with the staff or with the providers at this facility. I have had nothing but good experiences with them. The only complaint I have is that scheduling can be difficult as it can be a few months or longer before you can get back in, but this seems to be the norm nowadays with falling resources in the medical field when it comes to practitioners.Even, so they are usually really quick to respond to messages sent through the sparrow app and make exemptions on medical subscriptions if you need them and can't meet due to scheduling.
Jodi Menzies: Unwilling to work with you to develop your plan of care. Their way or the highway. Unwilling to listen to what you are saying or to consider that you have many years of experience with your own disease and have learned from those years. Advocating for yourself leads them to discharge you from their services. Save your kidneys. Find an office that is able to comprehend that we are not all textbook.
Jeremiah James: UPDATE: My previous review was just newness, I guess.Three years later and things have taken a turn for the usual. They are consistently 3-4 months out in scheduling, They are perpetually understaffed, underqualified, and underwheling in service. As a patient, you're forced to wait at least 15 minutes to be called back, then forced to wait another 10-15 minutes for the provider. Each appointment for me takes approximately 2.5 - 3 hours (which includes a 45 minute one way trip.) If you're more than 10 minutes late, they'll cancel your appointmet. Over the years I've no doubt had to wait hours for them. They clearly don't follow their own rules or care about their patients. As for the provider I had - Carol Tucker - was hands down the best I ever had. It's an absolute shame the front desk was so bad.Avoid this office as if your life depends on it - because it does.
Sherrie Bupp: I have went to Dr. Fletcher for years. She was a wonderful doctor. It she has left Sparrow to retire. Now I don’t have a doctor I was assigned a “PA” she’s nice, but she’s not a doctor. I was told they were replacing Dr. Fletcher they haven’t. When Dr. Fletcher was my doctor my A1C was 6.1 it is now 7.1 and climbing. It doesn’t matter what I eat my count goes over 200. I’m very depressed and am about ready to STOP EATING all together. Then it won’t go over 200. And the PA just adjusts my insulin intake, which Is NOT WORKING!!!
Cyle Cornish: Good caregivers. Unfortunately the office staff, management, and behind the scenes people are horrible. They do not answer the phone, rarely call back, and never follow through on communication with insurance or other providers. They will cancel your appointment if you are 10 minutes late, even if THEY are running an hour behind. It’s surprising that more diabetics don’t die.
Cynthia Logan: Front office staff awfully rude. Not on occasion, every visit and phone call. Not flexible on appointments at all even with advanced notice. My PA wouldn't listen to me at all. Told her thyroid medicines haven't worked after I'd tried many times, insisted I use them anyways, causing multiple problems. Not very helpful. Tried for a year. Had to switch clinics.
Bug in the rug: 0 stars.1st referral was denied after a 3 week wait. They told my PCP that low testosterone and osteoporosis isn't an endo issue. Had more blood work done and Sent 2nd referral in.Maybe they only see diabetes patients and they hired Dr. House (Hugh Laurie) to review all other referralsI can understand 3 weeks to accept a referral, but I've never had a doctor take 3 weeks to deny a referral. On a side note, It would be nice if the doctors would list their area's of interest on the providers page, so patient's can choose the right provider.
Shatara Thompson: I wouldn't want to give any stars to this office. The woman I spoke to in the referral department is completely unprofessional. She likes to yell at you and call you rude. This is why I am glad that my doctor isn't in the Sparrow system, I can't stand Sparrow anymore. My family members have been treated terribly in the hospitals, ER, and the doctor's offices.
Shawn Smith: I have been helped som much since my type 2 diabetes diagnosis. Carol is such a great PA. She listens and teaches and understands what will help.
Tania Bridgeman: What a way to make a first impression!!! The team was great and answered all of my many questions. I felt as if they really listened to understand and to provide a plan that meets my needs to manage the diabetes...I did not say my diabetes because I am not owning it...I feel I will beat it and stay on top of it with my hard work and dedication and with these great professionals especially Jennifer Caswell PA-C
Richard Woodrum: Takes forever to get calls back (if any). staff is dismissive and rude. They can’t get a scrip sent out to the right place to save their lives and I’ve caught their nurses in lies about taking care of things over the phone twice. And right now, I’m sitting in the lobby after they turned the lights off waiting for them to call me back because the receptionist wanted to leave at 4:45 and not stay till the last patient got called back? Like I’m actually sitting in an empty closed waiting room for a nurse to call me back....
Max Fata: I've been going to Sparrow Endo for almost two years... I've had a few bad experiences with some of the staff.I had one instance where they didn't refill my insulin correctly, but I will say the NP Carol Tucker is amazing. She's like family, has a really positive energy and is really a great person.
Roger Luedeman: Living on a medical. Doing 120U. What could i become. Deadwood. Bring it doomed.
Nate Bobb: I had been a patient here for about 5 years. I recently relocated and made the easy decision to switch away from Sparrow Adult Endocrinology. The care they provide is kind but utterly inconsistent and lacking competent and timely care. I've waited weeks for a response to multiple phone calls, I've been charged for appointments I never made and never received any notice or posting of a change in some of my lab values. Some of the staff is often rude over the phone and they have made remarks that are completely unprofessional. I'm not sure if all of this is due to understaffing or patient overload. Luckily I manage my T1D very independently, but if you're looking for a provider to help manage your disease I would be very hesitant to put your trust here. Very very disappointed in how I was lost in the shuffle on many many occasions.
mary coscarelli: My primary physician sent the office a referral to Dr. Javier office in December. I called twice in January to make sure they received the referral and was told both times they were still making a decision on whether or not I could be a patient. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's 20 years ago. Finally at the end of January they called and scheduled an appointment for mid-may. A month later they called and needed to reschedule because he wasn't going to be in the office. They postponed my appointment two weeks. 2 weeks later they called again because he wasn't going to be in the office. This time, their first available appointment was mid-august. The scheduler was very rude when I explained this was the second time they rescheduled my appointment and waiting 8 months seemed unacceptable. I would not recommend this office or this doctor.
Reilly Stover: I am a pregnant type one diabetic and they told me they would call my pharmacy and help me refill a prescription but they never called and now they’re closed and I’m out Of my medication. They are way behind on any of their equipment and won’t pay for an on-call doctor. Which has sent me to the hospital twice. Within 6 months of being with them their phones have been down twice. I highly recommend you not to go here.
Turney Gratz: Carol Tucker is an outstanding Diabetes NP
Christine: I have been going to see Dr. Fletcher for several years now, and she is an excellent doctor. She is always very friendly and professional, and I’m pleased with the treatment and care that she’s provided me. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for the front desk staff. For the most part they are rude and unpleasant to interact with. They often seem annoyed and unhappy with their jobs, which is a huge turn off to patients. I don’t even like to call up there if I need anything because they are usually short and snippy on the phone, as if I am inconveniencing them. I hope that these employees develop better people skills or are replaced with ones that are more personable.
Jim Greene: The front office staff and intake nurses seem to be on a revolving door with new staff every 3 months. They seem to lose the nice staff. Obviously there is a huge turnaround. Not good!!!! My nurse practioner is awesome and that is the only reason I stay with them. I don’t think Sparrow treats their staff very well.
Scott Waldron: I go for an appt. and a script refill for the next year and only get a 14 day supply. Also the receptionest there is about as cold as they come. It's like we are a big inconvenience and are waisting of their air space.

MSU Health Care Pediatrics | Specialty Clinic: what do users think?
Kate Blais: They won’t allow my daughter to see the doctor because I would have to have my 2 month old baby who is breastfeeding with me. I am now back to square one on getting a referral. All of the other MSU specialty clinics have had no issue with me having my breastfed infant with me at the appointments, and understand the reasoning for it. I would HIGHLY suggest asking for a referral to another doctor, especially with the poor attitude the receptionist has.
Jessica Waters: Everyone is usually pretty great. I’ve had a few issues in the last few months with my child’s prescription not being sent at all, and also no notes put in when he changed my child’s diet. As a new single parent I’ve set the bar pretty high because i want only the best for my child. Dr. Gold is the only doctor I’ll be scheduling my appointments with specifically because he’s the only doctor who’s done his job correctly and taken care of my child. There’s one young lady there who i don’t agree with her attitude and I’m not a fan of her. She’s rude and seems like she hates her life and job. Hopefully some hospitality training can be put into play.
Ashlee Jones: Daughter has been going here since birth. Originally due to my former pediatrician being there. He has since retired, hoping her next primary provides the same level of excellent care.
Crystal: Today i was very dissapointed, i have 4 children who have been going here for 3 year's, i was told i have 4 appointments that were missed..! And that a doctor had to review my 3 year olds file to see if they would continue to see him.! I know for sure i wasn't sent a reminder for his appointment. And also i do know we did not miss that many appointments. All it takes is one person to not do their job correctly and mistakes happen. Not sure we will be returning. Finding a new place.
Jaclynn Norris: I have been taking my son to see Dr. Gold since he was born. I like Dr. Gold. The lady who gives the shots, shes tallish 5'5 or so brown hair always looks like she is mad and has attitude..i do not care for. Literally came in and gave my son a hep a booster shot and didnt put gloves on at all. I didnt even realize it until it was too late. But its pretty unprofessional 🤷🏼
Matt Stephens: This doctor is “really supporting the reserve troops” who in reality have it worse than those who are active duty. To add insult to injury he kicks them and their families to the curb. It’s sad because the one time I went here the doctor actctually did something when the pervious doctor from the other hospital in town refused to do something. I gave 1 star because back in February my child went there for the first time. I have TriCare reserve select for insurance. When we went into the office they asked us if my wife and I had trouble paying our bills. To be noted we paid the copay in full without delay. At the time I was in between jobs with no prospective in sight. I finally got back on my feet within the first week of March. Fast forward to July 10 of the same year I called to make an appointment for my child. The receptionist said as of the end of February, TriCare no longer participated in the MSU Health System and their office. I was offered to still come in but I would have to pay out of pocket no discount starting at $115 and going up depending on what needs to be done. I called TriCare and they told me it was that particular doctors office’s decision. According to TriCare their insurance is accepted at Sparrow Hospital and every other MSU Health System. This is what I think happened they used that voluntary information about my financial situation at that time to flag us and drop my child as a patient because I had no job In February. The second but most unlikely opction is the doctor did not like the size of the payment from TriCare. Again TriCare does really good and is accepted most everywhere. This is the first place I have ever been denied “because of insurance”. How ever they won’t tell us my child is dropped or denied, they will say we won’t accept my insurance which is one of the best and one of the most widely accepted in the USA.TriCare prime vs TriCare Reserve Slect are the same but different. Both have advantages and disadvantages. Prime is free out of pocket but you have to go to military doctors or get a referral. Reserve Slect works like normal insurance. So there are payment to be made monthly with copays which are generally billed a month or two later.
Shared Videos: Thoroughly disgusted. Yes, disgusted! While we have appreciated many other Sparrow facilities, physicians, and care from those other entities, the Pediatrics Specialty Clinics and their designated doctors not only fail to impress, they disgust me and my daughter who had the misfortune of being the patient. We had placed our trust and hope in their care and were severely let down. No care was provided but rather the patient felt they were a lab rate to be groped and prodded but not provided any solution, any prescription, or anything at all really. Instead they only charted the concern and charged for the visits. And speaking of charges they even billed for a flu immunization that was neither requested or given - that's right, outright fraud in the billing. I would highly recommend steering clear of this place. If you don't have that option for whatever reason, be sure to have an eagle eye on your billing and actively look for alternative providers in the meantime. Good luck.
Anita Snider: Amazing Doctors and Staff!!!!

Naveen Kakumanu M.D.: what do users think?
Claud Risner: Incredibly disheartened with the office... I call but no return messages. I look online at reviews and the office says call and talk with them directly but that isn't helping me. Who can I call to talk to? I leave a message after calling and no reply. I leave a message with the scheduling staff who are answering calls for the nurses with no reply. I was told go to the ER for quick blood labs but I can't afford to go to the ER for my non emergency blood work. Like others I feel lost. Cancer took my thyroid now I need pills. You have the meds I need to live and control access to get my blood work completed so how do I get around that? I am polite and kind on the phone. Should I be yelling and be rude to staff to try to get more attention?I left two stars not one cause I'd be dead without you.
julian pardo: Christina Donley is a very detailed and good nurse practitioner. basely a wonderful awesome human being
Rachel Blankinship: I love Dr Aldasouqi,I have a rare condition that no one specializes in in the US. After my doc leaving U of M I was sent a referral to this office. He is Wonderful and exactly someone I am so happy to have in my corner.
Tyler Bliven: They keep brushing my wife's symptoms, under the rug.
Rose McGowan: It is hard to believe this office is part of MSU. My Dr. Office sent a referral. After 3.5 weeks I called. I was told yes they received the paperwork but they are not taking patients. I asked when were they going to call my Dr. office or myself and tell us. I was told we don’t do that; we just wait for someone to call us and ask. The woman was snappy, and unprofessional. This is not the service of other MSU healthcare. I’ve had such a professional, caring experience with MSU’s sports medicine, OMM, and physical therapy. My Dr. Office agreed.
Teresa Gibbons: They started my mom on a weekly insulin dose because she was consistently missing shots, and she finally has her diabetes under control for the first time in years. It is hard to get her in for appointments and they have been wonderful working with me over the phone and through emails getting her dosage correct and answering questions. They also called the pharmacy directly and resolved some problems with a prescription recently. I really appreciate all their help! Thank you!
Kevin Eynon: One of the absolute worst endocrinologist. Do not ever go here. The prescription refill is a joke it’s a automated leave a message system where they always mess up your script when calling it in. I’ve told them many times on this machine please give me a call if they have any questions while leaving a detailed message and still they never call and always mess my scripts up. This office cares about one thing and it’s your $ not your well being.
poet عماد خمو: A good group, especially Dr. Ahmed, I saw him on several appointments working and asking and also preparing you for any information you want, thank you.
Erin Lampani: My first appointment was a wonderful experience. The doctors explained things very thoroughly, answered all my questions, and never once made me feel rushed. I greatly appreciate doctors this thoughtful and thorough. One of the best experiences I have had at the doctors office.
Miah Garcia: Karen that works there was so unprofessional of the multiple times that I visited this location I believe that she’s the one that also put in my file that I no longer wanted to receive services now calling in a month later I can’t get in and that they are no longer excepting new patients now I am without my meds thanks to Karen who said that I was no longer wanting their services
Askr Mer': Despite the other bad reviews, my Dr. is great! Coming from another state to MI, she cares about me more than my Dr. I had back home.
CrayCrayShea: Canceled an appointment I had. Called them to reschedule and they couldn’t find a date and they said they would call me back. Never called me back.
Becky Wartella: Absolutely the worst. Find a different place to go if at all possible. They don’t care about your health here.
Ashley Stommen: Worst doctors office in the area. I've been canceled on multiple times by them and then you have to wait 3 more months for an appointment that they then just cancel. I got my scan done in December and I've been waiting 6 months to get in. They do not care about people.
Ken Bode: I had a terrible experience here in the past.
Andy Jeglic: It's like I don't exist to their whole team. They didn't call in my prescription until I called them and asked where it was. They didn't set up a follow up appointment until I called asking when it was. I got my blood test results in, and two weeks later I had to call them asking about the results before I heard from Dr. Adawi. They wanted me to get follow up bloodwork at intervals, but never told me when an order was put in, so now I'm two weeks past when they called an order in. This place is a joke, and they obviously take in more patients than they can adequately care for. I've never experienced such poor patient care.
Durandune: Would never go here again...
Whitney Whiting: Nurses are great, but one of the receptionist are pretty rude. She cut me off while trying to ask to speak to a nurse about a dosage of my medication.
Mary Ann Metler: It isn't like it was in the old days. The phone system is a train wreck, shame on the health team.
Shacara Wright: This Drs office appears to care when they’re talking about performing surgeries and doing life changing procedures thats going to put money in their pocket but they do not care about their patients. I had a total thyroidectomy that they BEGGED ME to do and started to refuse care because i didn’t want too. I finally did it and now theirs an issue with scheduling, the follow ups were every three months as if my neck was not sliced open and after the 3 months it was every 6 months less than a year after surgery, they constantly want you to come in so they can bill insurance yet DO NOTHING AT ALL! Today 40 mins before my appointment they call and say the provider doesn’t accept my insurance and now i have to wait ANOTHER however many weeks to be seen due to my hectic work schedule and them not having any openings. All in all, find another endocrinologist or you will be left for DEAD on their watch!
Joshua Jackson: Waited 6 months for an appointment, I'm type 1 diabetic, need to be seen every so often to make sure my A1C and everything is alright, robocall tells me 10 am tomorrow, I get there, before my appointment that next day, they tell me "no, it's at 2:30, sorry." So I call them inbetween this time to say "hey, your robocall told me 10, I already went out there today and now I'm back at work, I cant come in today, can I cancel and reschedule for another day?" And the lady in the office didnt seem at all worried about my health, just a "well you called 24 hours in, so we have to charge you for late cancellations and we dont have any appointments til after the new year.". Inconsiderate and rude like.

Sparrow Children's Center: what do users think?
Andrea M. Pena: my daughter took her daughter in and was seen fairy right away after triage. nurse and both doctors that saw my grand daughter were VERY nice and had a wonderful bedside manner with the little one, made her feel special. my granddaughter even drew a picture for the doctor and the Dr. expressed to her how special it was and going on her refrigerator! very please with our experience.
Jazxo Weeknd: Aside from good health care , the nurses and receptionists really treat with the lowest of tolerance, and are extremely rude. I Understand it's a tough flu season, however, I'll be switching hospitals or self treating.
