Cynthia Armstrong: Very rude people at Office of retirement services.
Betty Kirksey: There is a very frustrating menu when you call them and no option to speak with a representative when the menu choices don’t address your question or concern
Janine VanStee: I have needed to make several calls to ORS in the past month, every time, I have had friendly, kind, and patient responses. I have had to wait on hold but have always been able to get through.
Barbara Kohl: The new method to access ORS is confusing and unreliable. Who ever came up with this new method that gives examples of screens that never show, apps that are insufficient and links to pages of the wrong departments has done a poor job! To have timed numbers on phone app to use on tablet is at best stupid.
Patricia Lesko: Just spent two hours on hold. TWICE I moved up in the queue. When I was number two, people began to be put in front of me in the queue, then I was sent to an automated message that told me to use the website, and I was cut off. The second time, I got to number one in the queue and had the same thing happen. Laurie Mitchell, who directs this service, has obviously never used her own phone services.
James Sancricca: Terrible communication. Nobody knows anything or are simply unwilling to help. Tracking my disability retirement pension application status is almost impossible.
Carol Christensen: Customer services has plummeted. Was the goal of cutting your staff to make Michigan citizens dissatisfied with their government?
Jill McGinn: Called early this morning. Was on hold for about 15 minutes, with a recording telling me that no one was in front of me in the queue.Then I was given the option to leave my phone number for a call-back, which I did. Was called back about ten minutes later, and person helped me fix problems with logging in.
Erik Swanson: I called the Michigan Office of Retirement Services twice on September 28, 2022. I got through on both occasions VERY quickly. I received outstanding, courteous service. I think some major changes have occurred to this department.

Denise Kling-Pelto: Was told would have to wait 3-5 minutes, gave up @ 21. None of the options worked for me.
Carol Arends: I was frustrated trying to connect with a person to speak with. I tried the call back system and when I was connected after one ring I was disconnected. The next time I stayed on the line and then was connected to Mike. He was pleasant, patient, and took his time answering all my questions and even walked me through the website so I knew where to go for the information I would need. Then he connected me with MIaccount and I spoke to Juwan. He helped me connect to my account, answered my questions completely and made sure I was able to access what I needed. Thank you gentlemen for making my experience rewarding.
Edwin Tatem: I would give it a zero if I could. I entered my dependents for medical Insurance three times with proof and they deleted my daughter as a benefit . This is poor care for people who worked in the system.
Mark Private: Absolutely the worse possible service. Impossible to reach anyone via phone. If you leave them a message they will not respond. Sad way to treat state employees that have dedicated their lives to providing quality service. Epic failure...
Pongene M: You can never reach anyone. The pandemic was two years ago and these people are still not accepting in person appointments.
Samone Rieberger: Rude, never help, and pass the buck to anyone they can and blame others. Absolutely worst experience ever trying to get information or help from this agency.
Eric Gohlke: Cannot get ahold of anybody at the retirement office for help merging the old with the new mi .gov account. Tried on line they reject my attempt indicate info entered does not match my account access. How about just creating a new account. Right now Mich office of retirement and social security are in the same boat can't get ahold of anybody. If you put in a new system hire more employees to help with the merging problem.
Nancy Wells: Can't access my account online and can never get through on phone.
Kyle Leemon: I've been trying to help my wife log in to her account for the past 5 years. The website has inanaccurate information on her account preventing us from logging in. We have called in numerous times and no one is able to help out. Incredibly inconvenient when you have to submit requests to get confirmation codes via USPS, which then is never delivered. They probably have the incorrect mailing address as well. After 10 years of contributions, we don't know what is in the account, how it's invested, etc. It's quite frustrating and and embarrassment on the ORS. If state employees didn't have to go through the ORS, there is no way a company like this would be able to operate. No one would ever use their services.
