Ellen Darmofal: Zahna is great! My dog Mur really seems to really like her. He was a stinker about getting groomed and I had tried several different grooming places in the past. Zahna seemed to have a way with Mur so I kept going to her. Mur always looks so happy when we go there and when I pick him up. He always looks so cute and turns out exactly how I ask him to be groomed. Even though Old Town Tails is quite a drive for me, it’s worth the trip. Everyone there is very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend Old Town Tails.

The second time we called in to schedule an appointment, the front desk lady was about as unprofessional as it gets and incredibly unhelpful. Other than her, everything else has been great but because of her alone we are choosing to take our business elsewhere.

Julia Moll: I have taken my cat here twice now for a sanitary shave. The first time was great. The groomer did a great job with the trim and taking care of our cat. The second time, I wasn’t happy with the work they did.The groom was sloppy. When I got home my cat’s shaved off fur was all over his carrier and lots of it still stuck to him. It seems like the groomer didn’t brush off any of the fur they shaved off. Later I realized there were bits of fur that were partially shaved but still attached to my cat. Those had to be cut off with scissors, luckily he is a long hair cat and they will blend in.I was disappointed with this experience here, especially since my first visit was so great. I would consider returning if I knew I wouldn’t go to the same groomer.

Courtney Cariano: Our usual groomer was booked 2 months out, so we had to find a new groomer just for the time being. We have a blue nose pitbull who is the absolute sweetest, but you know the serotypes that come with pitbulls. Upon dropping her off we made the from aware she gets a little iffy when touching her paws, they didn’t seem to find that to be an issue. When picking her up we were told her nails weren’t clipped and we should sedate her so she can feel as if she smoked a bowl of weed. (Their exact words). We were still charged for the entire amount, she doesn’t look or smell as if she’s been washed I’ve done a better job getting her cleaned up in our bathtub. We’ve never had an experience like this and will not be returning.

Lioness of Judah: Until covid I took my dog Zeus to Kelly's for grooming regularly. The boutique is small BUT the groomers are the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure to meet. They actually do love animals!The welcome we got was warm, sincere and friendly.My dog has chihuahua in his mix so he suffers from anxiety and tends to yip and bark in the kennel. There he was allowed to walk in the business area and was consoled often by staff. When I heard this I teared up because I have to admit, he's my baby, I care how he's treated.When I picked him up he looked and smelled so clean and had a cute scarf on! He looked so good and seemed happy.Ever since that one experience I've had others just like it making Kelly's my go-to for my dog.I can't wait until the covid situation is over or handled in a way where we are all safe, when that happens I'll be back cause he needs a bath badly!Thanks Kelly & friends!!!

Gabrielle Bezinque: My dog was there for 5 hours last time so we found a new groomer. They do an okay job but no dog wants to be crated in a strange noisy environment for 4 hours and then groomed, like did he get a potty break? Probably not!

Casey Bellgraph: I scheduled a haircut/trim for my ~50 lb husky. However, they did not know what kind of appointment it was supposed to be. After briefly running it by me (to be fair, I was caught off guard and kind of went with it) he ended up getting the bath package instead... on the same day we were going to the lake for his bday. The people were super friendly and did a great job with what they did (clean as a whistle, brushed out really well, did great with my pup), it just wasn't really what I scheduled. Yeah, it's half my fault for not correcting the package I wanted, but I scheduled it 3 weeks before and kind of forgot what packages they offered when I got there. My stomach sank when I found out I was paying $70 for a bath before we were going to the lake. He still smelled good after at least. Just make sure you know exactly what you scheduled if you scheduled it ahead of time
Deborah loszewski: I normally go to Another grooming place and I am much more satisfied with the quality of care I got from petco grooming out on east Lansing, my dog came back softer than he has ever been after getting groomed and normally when leaving the other groomer he sees he has a burnt nose he didn’t have that at all with petco I’m completely satisfied the price was a little more but he got a lot more services from petco and better care over all I would definitely recommend petco there standered price is cheaper than where I went before but my dog has super bad dandruff so that’s why it was more for us, but there prices are cheaper and great service summer d was the groomer and she did an excellent job

Kristin Scripter: Was interested in attending their grooming program but upon requesting the “online catalog” for information I never received it. The following week I sent out an email directly stating my interest in the program and enrollment. I was only met with a response stating I should go to the website and acquire the catalog that never came through to get any information I needed and to give a call for a tour. I very specifically stated I wanted to move forward with enrollment and this faculty seems incapable of 1) giving forth information themselves and 2) helping anyone with enrollment and navigating the program.

Mary chebli: It's been about a month since we took our dog there. The lady at the desk is not welcoming. She insisted immediately he would need a short shave. When I picked him up she charged me and let me tip before I saw him. Both of his ears were cut and bleeding. His butt was also cut. He was bald. He went into a depression and wouldn't eat as he is used to being warm with all his hair. It's taken him a month to feel and act normal again. I understand these are students but where are the instructors. We'll never go there again.

carolyn c: I took my lab there for deshedding, which they said they did. That was literally the only thing I wanted, (I asked on the phone and when I arrived) as I cut my dog's nails and wash her myself. I was hoping for some good undercoat removal. Unfortunately, there is absolutely, no difference in hair shedding. I know because I remove it daily. I suspect some short cuts were made and she wasn't brushed that long, she is a big girl. I could be wrong, but if they can't perform the service, they shouldn't say they do. I did call to try to give them another shot as I won't be bringing her back but Kensey(an instructor) said that's fine, don’t bring her back. She didn’t even want to try to make it right.
Ashley Hobbs: Don’t go here EVER unless you want them to cut your dogs QUICK and part of the pad of their paw, leave them bloody and then when you call to confront them they tell you it’s normal practice??? When is it ever normal to cut a dogs nails so short that you are cutting the quick and leaving them bleeding and in pain. You would think any basic dog groomer would know this information! The way this situation was handled after the fact was totally unacceptable, this is NOT NORMAL PRACTICE!!!
Rebecca: I had heard about grooming services & thought I would try them. When I went in to pick up my dog I saw several other dogs getting lots of attention. However my little dog was not even all groomed & was done very quickly! I asked why & the girl said "oh I didn't know you wanted that part done". Why wouldn't I want a full groom, that's what I requested! After them touching up several areas that they didn't do he still looked like a dog they didn't want to spend time with. I'm writing this review because I don't want this to happen to someone else!BEWARE!! You need to give explicit detailed instructions if you go to them!I will never return... my dog deserved much better!!

Island Ewert: Recommended by our vet and we have had no issues, only superb service for our poodle mix. I recommend scheduling at least 2 or 3 visits after your groom as they are busy busy! Better to get on the book than to desperately need your dog groomed and have to wait a couple weeks. They are so good with our dog, have been since she was a pup.

The staff is always very friendly and remembers my dog, which makes the experience feel more personal than a lot of other places we've tried. They do such a great job handling my dog and he always looks and smells great afterward. The only thing that I would change is for them to add some sort of price points/price ranges for their various services online. This would make me feel more comfortable with what to expect when we go. I would be more willing to take my dog more regularly and add on additional services if I can plan out my spending.

When you have a senior dog you want to take them someplace where they will be in good hands and you don't have to worry about your dog getting too stressed out. The Classy Canine is the perfect place for dogs of all ages. My dog is 14 years old and this is where I take her. I have been going here for three years since we moved to the Lansing area. I can't brush her myself (she gets very sassy and runs away), but my old lady dog will let the groomers here work on her. As a Shiba she has two major blow outs a year and when she gets a million little tufts all over her body is when I make the call. They do book up fast, that it can be difficult to get in right away, but this speaks the quality of this place and why everyone comes here.

Ann Russell: Do you wonder if your dog is being treated gently at the groomer's? Is your dog nervous about being groomed? Those were my concerns before I found the Classy Canine. I had a standard poodle who acted terrified whenever I took her to another local groomer. One day someone there joked about how my dog would hide in the bathroom -- closing the door herself -- whenever I brought her in. So I showed up early to pick her up and got an earful of abusive yelling from behind a closed door. That's when I looked for a new groomer.I took my dog to the Classy Canine for the rest of her life. We now have another standard poodle, and he loves going to be groomed there.The groomers are gentle and patient, and they agree to be monitored with security cameras so there's no doubt about your dog's experience when you aren't present. No medications are given to your dog without your permission. (At some places groomers administer sedatives without the owner's knowledge.) Prices are set at the going rate.I even know a vet whose dog always gets groomed at the Classy Canine.

Rachel Kostecke: We had a wonderful experience at Classy Canine! My dog Lucy has a severe anxiety when it comes to getting her nails trimmed. It usually takes 3-4 people to hold her still so we can trim her nails. We've tried other grooming salons and were never satisfied with the results. We took Lucy in to see Karina and Lucy did sooo well! Karina sang to her and as trimmed her nails and Lucy was so calmed by it that she didn't move an inch. She didn't require anyone extra to hold her and she left a very happy doggy, and I was a very happy customer :) I would recommend them and I will be returning.
Valley: They do such a great job with my Goldendoodle and Siberian husky!! Two breeds that are very difficult to maintain! They are always so nice and accommodating to my requests! Highly reccommend them!

Everyone in the shop adheres to the highest standards of humane handling of pets. Ariel loves to go to the spa for the day :) She is pampered and cared for by Karina and her wonderful employees. The girls at Classy Canine take extra time to make sure your pet is comfortable! If your dog or cat needs breaks they are happy to let them relax. Karina and the girls always go the extra mile!!! I love when they paint Ariel's toe nails and put bows in her hair!!! And of course all the girls are very knowledgeable so I know my baby is in good hands!!! Definitely give them a call!!!

I have a Shih Tzu who was terrified of being groomed and now with Karina's calm and happy demeanor she is pulling on her leash and running across the parking lot to paw at the door to get in and doesn't give us a second look when we leave her there. The cut is always great and she looks so pretty when she is done. Would highly recommend this company and groomer!! She truly cares for the animals as if they were her own and is always willing to talk with you about any problems or questions you may have too!!
