I’ve easily spent over 2 hours just browsing the huge selection of animals and products available for purchase.I wish I could’ve given 5 stars, but I have to knock one off due to purchasing a Parrot Finch that had 2 missing toes. For $299.99 for a pair, I would’ve expected perfect specimens. While I do understand these things happen, the employee NEVER mentioned anything prior or after catching the bird and putting it in the transport box. I only realized when I got home and put it in its enclosure. I really wish the employee working would’ve been more transparent and let me know of this.

Jeff Panaka: This is a legendary pet store in Lansing’s Old Town. There are all sorts of pets for sale here but their most famous section is this aquarium selection. They have an incredible variety of both salt and fresh water fish for sale. The staff here is also very friendly and knowledgeable. Make sure to check out the indoor stream full of fish during your visit.
Ariel Brown: I always love visiting this pet store. There is such a wide variety of pets. The staff seems very knowledgeable about the animals they sell and seem to care about the health of the animals. Just bought a beautiful betta fish from them, and he's been doing great. They don't have tons of cat and dog pet supplies, but they do have the basics. Mainly exotic animal supplies. Definitely recommend a visit.

Almost like a zoo!Went here with my friend so he could pick up dog toys and I could get some things for my cats...Well, my boyfriend and I have 5 cats and i dont understand why so many pet stores don't stock cat products. There's one tiny little section and it was really disappointing. The only good thing, is this is the only place I can find CBD treats locally for my senior cat who has arthritis.

We bought 4. 2 are fine and 2 we had to separate into a different cage because they became so sick just days after getting them. Cage and all components were brand new and clean. Vet said many birds from Preuss have been coming in. $500 vet bills w meds for one. Go somewhere else to buy birds! 24 hr "warranty" on birds is way too little

In my opinion this is the best pet store in the whole state of Michigan even when you have a question and you live two hours away the wonderful knowledgeable staff are happy to help with any questions one might have... This is a must visit place for children and adults alike beautiful exotic even if you have no money this place is like a mini zoo with so much to see and so much to learn from the very knowledgeable staff. Thanks you Preuss for such a wonderful place in Lansing!!

Mira Emenaker: Came from out of town on a road trip to visit this place and the zoo in Lansing. My boyfriend and I loved it! They have a great selection of nearly everything, and I truly enjoying wandering around and looking at everything. I’d love to see them stray away from using wire wheels with the small mammals and rodents soon, as those wheels can catch small toes and feet and can cause injuries. Other than that, I think the place is great! :) I got some cool bioactive supplies that I’m excited to use on a terrarium that I’m redoing for my crested gecko! 3

Amanda Barker: Great service and found everything I needed. They should probably put a sign up that shows there is dog food at the end of the cat area which is where I found the food I needed. Was confused when the website said the food was in stock but I couldn't find it. One of the employees showed me where it was. Maybe they should swap the grooming supplies aisle with the other dog foods to keep them all in the same area?
Fred Alexander: PetSmart is always a hit. The people are always friendly and polite. Everything has nearly doubled in price since covid and that's the only drawback.

Demetria Stewart: Long over do review. I always took my dogs here and always was good. My dog Laila is such a calm dog she doesn't even flinch when getting shots. I dropped her off nothing was wrong with her and when I picked her up she had big bulges in her stomach area. They obviously squeezed her. It was a new groomer and of course Banfield said it was purely a coincidence that they appeared while grooming. I took her to a vet clinic that could perform the surgery to remove the bulges which turned out to be hernias and they said that he felt that they were caused by trauma and he believes they did hold her too tightly. Never will I take my dogs to them again. $1000+ later which came out of my pocket and petsmart should have paid...no apologies the manager was actually kind of rude and not sympathetic at all.

crowpeets: Good selection and tanks are fairly clean but staff is very poorly trained when it come to bagging fish which is costing them money because the fish get too stressed and die. Last time I went they absolutely did not fold the bag down correctly so there was no air in the bag and they didn’t put a rubber band on it they just tied it.Please for the love of god train your employees on how to bag fish it literally would take 5 minutes and save you money and returns.

Grace Cooke: I just took my Bernese Mountain Dog here, and he had a full bath + extra brushing with Christina. She did an AMAZING job, he was incredibly soft and no hair tufts just randomly falling out all over my floor. Will be bringing him back to her for sure! 👍🏼

They had a buy two get one half off sale posted in front of the products and as soon as I grabbed the product off the shelf the employee came over and ripped the sale sign off and said sorry you missed it. They abuse the fish and your wallet. Go to your local pet store instead. Don't support these chain pet stores.
Craig Streeter: This place isn't even worth a star but I guess you got to give them one to rate them try to buy a male gerbil for my son got a regular associate she refused to sell me one cuz I didn't have the size of the cage I was putting it in so I told her to go get a manager he didn't want to deal with me so he went and got Mallory I showed her a picture of the cage I wanted to put the gerbil in and she refused to sell it to me because she didn't want to split the two gerbils up they're advertising them for sale as one not two that's illegal they're gerbils people come on

Patty Goldsmith: I don't live close to a petco. I bought some gravel and went back to return it soon as I got back to this store. They wouldnt return it. The manager on dayshift had an issue and didn't want to come talk to me. I think his name was Mark. I'm very disappointed I wasn't told anything about 30 day return policy. They said it's on the back in small print. Well who in the heck reads that?? They wouldn't even do a 1 time courtesy. It's usually a 60 or 90 day. So now I'm stuck with it and guess I won't shop here again

robert henderson: The staff is a four or five. This low rating is because I didn't realize that you can't exchange non-perishable items, such as the cat litter that I had, after 30 days. Mind you, I wasn't asking for a refund, just store credit.
Eric Brockway (Bruke): I've had good experiences there in the past so maybe this visit was a fluke but prices were not clearly marked, the selection of cat litter boxes was relatively small, and they only had one checkout lane open. I will visit them again but they're no longer my first choice.
Sherry Black: Always buy fish here, just gotta pay attention for sick behavior and they like to cross contaminate with using the same net on every tank , so their spreading ick. But will continue to shop here, just be choosy.

Chris Bezinque: I used to come here for my dogs grooming. It used to be only a couple hours from drop off to pickup. The last times I've taken my dog they are short staffed because the groomer is off. This happens every time I bring my dog here. My dog has hydrocephalus and separation anxiety. This is a problem if from drop off to pickup is 4 to 5 hours. This is unexceptionable.

PS PS: Let's start by saying that it took the shipper forever to load me in turn it created me to be late to Philip's pet foods. I got here thinking oh wow I'm an hour and a 1/2 past my appointment I'm sure they're gonna make me wait all day to get unloaded. Walked in to check in they greeted me with a smile and a good morning which was totally amazing as we amazing as truckers know we just don't get that.Both young ladies in there were absolutely terrific I highly recommend this place these people rock

Cynthia Limon: I arrived about 15 minutes early for my appointment and checked in at receiving. I was immediately given a dock which was simple to back into. Two hours later they brought my signed bills out to me and said I could leave. The only disappointment of this customer was that the trailer was clean when it was loaded at the shipper and when Phillips was done they left shrink wrap and cardboard all over the place. That's very disrespectful of a receiver to take their product and leave their trash for me to have to clean, as if I'm their mother. Otherwise they weren't too bad. I just wish if they caused a mess they would clean up when they're done.

Miguel Cin: Cute local store, I think , but they offer 13.95 diy doggie bath. They have the shampoo , towels , conditioners, and coat brushes. I will return.
