Reeder Pianos Inc: what do users think?
Sarah E. Ellul: Helped us move a grand piano into our house!!!
Raptor Raptor: The staff was very helpful and did not pressure us at all... we purchased a Kurzweil CUP 410. Purchased on Friday and they are delivering for free on Tuesday. Great store and great service.
Aashish Mewada: Honest and wonderful people to work with to buy or sell a piano. My family both bought a piano and sold one on consignment at Reeder Pianos and it was a fantastic experience both times. The staff is communicative and professional.
Linda: Had baby grand piano delivered to my mom up in Traverse City. Phillip and his helper did a wonderful job and my mother is so greatful for all their help. Thank you so much!!
Sarah Fritz: This place has so much love for these beautiful instruments. Such nice people too.
cher thomas: They were very professional & not pushy to sell. They are a Company that works w/ what you want, in all aspects. I felt very comfortable buying my Grand piano there!!👍🙏
Stephen Rumler: I've used their moving services multiple times, and they are exceedingly professional. They did a difficult upstairs move for me, and even at stressful moments, they remained calm and communicative with one another.
Rod6000 Armin: Y la atención es excelente y todo lo que respecta a piano y servicio es excelente
Chuck Dietrich: I love this place. I live in Grand Rapids and this place on the west side of Lansing also has the best selection of top quality European pianos and completely rebuilt Steinways...they look factory new. This is THE place to test drive grand pianos. They showed me the huge shop where the instruments completely stripped and rebuilt...amazing to see the process.
Jack Keys: Great deals for pianos very knowledgeable staff!
Ken Good: Lots of beautiful pianos
Piano Reeder: They really know pianos! Experts. Must-see restoration facility!
Sean Felani: Best collection of pianos
Peter Porciello: If you are a serious pianist, you will not want to miss this place. I have known the owners for more than 47 years! I stopped in on a whim today and got to play pianos AND got a tour of the piano rebuilding facility. When my Baldwin SD 10 was new this is the place Baldwin chose to transition my piano from artist service to my home. I strongly recommend stopping in there regardless of what kind of musician you are. Take a little bit of awe home with you!
Nancy: Nice selection of pianos
Patrick Sullivan: Outstanding service and world class craftsmanship. I was sold a terrible piano by a local chain store. My dream has always been to own a Steinway baby grand. After searching online inventories across the country, I found a 60 year-old used Model S for a reasonable price. I drove the hour plus to Lansing and Mr. Reeder personally met with me on the weekend to view the piano and gave me a tour of the factory. I whole-heartedly recommend Reeder if you're in the market for a piano or if you want to restore your own.
Carolyn Putney: I purchased a grand piano from him, but we were still in the middle of remodeling. Having a grand piano was a lifelong dream. He kept the piano tuned in the studio so I could go play it until we could have it delivered. Service above and beyond!!!
Jonathan Mueller: Great selection! Excellent assistance and help!

Marshall Music Co.: what do users think?
Steven Melnyk: Please note that this is my experience and yours may vary. I recently visited Marshall Music in Lansing to buy a Backun Clarinet. First thing that happened was that I was only given 7 days to test it rather than the usual 14. Okay, I can live with that. Second, the product knowledge shown by the staff regarding clarinets was not good. For example, the person showing me the clarinet did not understand the difference between a grenadilla clarinet and a clarinet made of cocobolo wood and claimed that the grenadilla clarinet was cocobolo). I bought it on Wednesday March 8 and on Friday March 10, as I was preparing to practice with the new clarinet, I found that the lower joint was cracked (the crack only showed up when the clarinet was assembled). Since Marshall was closed on Saturdays and Sundays, I had to wait until Monday to return it. All I wanted to do was to exchange it for another in a different wood (I had purchased it initially in Cocobolo and I wanted to exchange it for one in grenadallia wood - both were the same price when I bought the original one). I was shocked to find that the price of the clarinet had jumped by over 30% since the Wednesday (even though the one that I had selected was the exact same one that had been offered to me on last Wednesday) and I was expected to make up the difference. I returned the clarinet (which was done professionally and promptly). Overall, the entire experience was not pleasant with no adequate explanation being offered for the sudden jump in price. So, a combination of poor product knowledge, arbitrary decisions, and sudden changes in product pricing have resulted in a permanent loss of a customer. As I said before, your experience may vary but I was not impressed.
untuned: Nice place for music stuff and repairs of anything. Any music book you want so much random and cool stuff. I'm a little disappointed at the lack of guitars. It seemed that they only had Ibanez (not sure if I spelled that right) and another brand that I wasn't familiar with. From what I saw, they didn't have any fenders or Gibsons.Maybe they had some in the back some where not visible to the public. But I was impresses with the bass selection. And they had a Ukulele Bass which sounded really cool and was fun to play. Really great place though and I get all my stuff from either them or guitarcenter (more guitars) Recommend though! 🤘
Alex: I love this place. Smallish selection for guitar stuff, but they had everything I needed. One of the guys (skinny, bearded guy with a beanie) recommended some cool stuff to me and we talked shop for a bit which was really fun. 10/10 great service and atmosphere.
cmennare: Easy to work with
Danielle Hadley: Amazing staff. Great selection. Keeping music in schools. We love Marshall Music!
Valentin Narvaez: I haven’t shopped at or supported this store in a very long time because of my experiences. They used to have an employee stationed at the exit that was employed solely to awkwardly inspect and review customer purchases. A customer could not leave without the inspection. The customer distrust was 100% uncomfortable. On one occasion, an employee followed me around the store and tried to hide on an upper level (not accessible to customers) as I browsed. Once he realized that I saw him, he retreated with a look of utter disappointment. I’ve spent my money elsewhere since then!
Maggie Burch: I loved how they were nice and recommended a brand of reeds for the clarinet. I didn't know what brand to get. They are amazing
Harold Rothrock: Worst customer service ever young kids are cocky and the store sucks as soon as they got my money their attitude towards me totally changed go somewhere else believe me
Jim Misener: Rented a trumpet, deal seems good, they take care of all aspects, happy so far
Gene K: The staff was friendly and helpful. Place was clean. People were socially distancing for safety. Loved the experience and will return for future music related purchases
Ron McLouth: Olivia is incredible. Super knowledgeable and will help you find exactly what you need.
Megi Kourteva: Went there for violin bow repair. Personnel is always nice, knowledgeable and helpful.
Thomas Casey: Used to buy records here.
maalum zawadi: I've been calling the 337-9700 number and haven't been able to get through to anyone, not even the operator...I live far out, trying to get a hold of the repair and or organ repair department. I don't want to come all the way out and your out of stock or don't have what I need...is there another number I can call? please respond
North Country __ Scott Bates: Fantastic place to buy musical instruments and accessories for everything you need in the musical family
Fred X: High priced with very poor people being used for private lessons. These people don’t understand that music is one of the building blocks in a young persons development, not THE one thing that must be the only focus. Ironically, these people are far from what most of us would consider successful or where we would want our kids to end up. Think about who you want teaching your kids. Also, the person we had to deal with was a jerk who made my (extremely successful and positive) daughter cry. She has never done that before or since. These guys are really low class.
Darcy Hayes: We had a great experience there! The staff was great!
Aaron Ehlers: Thank you to the guitar repair guru Marshall Music has working for them. His name is Josh. I have for weeks now been having horrible tuning issues with my acoustic Washburn that cannot be blamed on humidity. I decided a new set of tuning pegs should fix it. Went to marshall Music Lansing store. Was greeted within 2 minutes. Told the employee my problem. Within 5 minutes he found Josh. Josh first gave my guitar a auick once over and my truss rod also was off. He also said my favorite words; we could liwer the action a bit more. Which I had just lowered. Josh guided me to a mid range priced set of tuning pegs. And then he said he could have it done in about 2hrs. I didn't even plan to get em on til next week. Well he was done in an hour and a half. My guitar sounds and feels even smoother to play. Maintaining perfect tone now, with a new set less than 6hrs old. Thanks Josh and Marshall Music.Play on.
S M: 🚫BUYER BEWARE🚫 Marshall Music has great products, instrument servicing, and some fantastic employees...but Debra in the Finance department is NOT one of them. God help you if you ever have to speak with this woman. If you're going to buy an instrument from these guys pay cash outright. I had multiple account issues with automatic payments and unfortunately every time I had to speak with Debra she spoke to me like I was trash. I was courteous in every interaction and still her voice dripped with contempt. I work in customer service and if I treated people the way she treated me I would lose my job. I fell behind on a few payments due to the ongoing problem with their automatic payment system and having just moved our mail was not being forwarded correctly so we hadn't received any notices. She sent a repo man to our home who blocked us into our driveway and refused to move. This retired cop shoved his badge in my face and screamed at me that he wasn't leaving without the instrument. We had to call the police for assistance and we paid off the instrument. If anyone that cares from Marshall Music reads this please remind Debra it costs NOTHING to be decent. For anyone reading this who is deciding whether or not to make a purchase do NOT finance unless you have some serious street cred. this place resorts to intimidation to collect. Wow.😳😟😢
Kim Dyer: This is going to sound strange. If I had a brass musical instrument I cared about, no matter how damaged, I would keep reading.I have a keyring that I have had for 40 years. Obviously it is special to me. Sentimental value FAR above monitarial value.Part of this brass key ring had worn to being razor sharp instead of solid. A Google search on "brass repair" led to Marshalls . The worst they could do was laugh, so I asked.Within 24 hours they had repaired my signature keyring to better than original. They didn't laugh. They fixed 40 years of wear without judgement. If they take that kind of care with a KEYRING imagine how they care about your treasured Instruments.I am beyond impressed.
Jonathan David: I'm going there tomorrow

Music Manor: what do users think?
Frank Pennoni: I’ve been going here for decades(this location and their old one north of here) and I’ve bought guitars, amps, strings, drum sticks and all things music. How you know a store is great is by how they handle a challenge.Recently I treated myself to a guitar set up. After getting the guitar home and playing(I use that term lightly as I’m more of a hack) I wasn’t quite satisfied. The Manor Team went over and above great customer service to make my guitar play the way that I like my guitars set up. I blame myself for not communicating properly and they insisted that they wanted me satisfied and wouldn’t accept further payment after my initial charge for the set up.I would recommend them over the other music stores in town and although they are all likely great musicians they never do the music store thing and play circles around you to show off. I’ve done business w all of them and the Manor has proven to be the most consistent, friendliest and simply the best customer service of all of them.Trust them for all of your musical needs as this is a well run operation and hopefully the owners take good care of this team so they stay on and continue to make the Manor the best music store in Lansing!
D S: The staff is always so nice and helpful. For being a small store, they have a good variety.
anon anon: Good god the owner with glasses is insufferable. “Me is angry, so me will act like me 3”.
Pabbam: Great selection, helpful staff. Will be back!
tom ogletree: Just a fun place to go
Dylan Sisk: Went in to sell a instrument after calling only to get there and them to say they're not interested
Michael Lee: First, I have to begin this post by saying the staff here is fantastic and they never make me feel like an idiot. So that's why I have purchased several items from here through the years, I had not yet experienced their workmanship for instrument repair, however.I took my Seagull acoustic guitar in Monday for fret level, crown, and polish work, based on a third-party recommendation.I checked a competitor, but discovered their turnaround time was about 2 months and was going to cost will over $200 for the basic work, not including any extras. So I was a little skeptical when I called MM and they said the turnaround time was typically about 3 days and would only cost about $125.Sure enough, I got a call Wednesday, just two working days later, that the work was done. I was slightly and cautiously skeptical, wondering what the finished product would look and sound like. But that only lasted until I picked it up and took it into the back room to play it before paying. The frets look absolutely beautiful and the guitar sounds fantastic!I won't hesitate to take my other guitars here for work in the future. Thank you Music Manor staff!
Mike Nolen: Staff are friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Dropped off my bass to have a new pickup installed and get it restrung, also had them set it up properly. It plays great now. Definitely going back to them for work on my guitars.
Benjamin Long: This is an excellent shop with very friendly staff. I've had two guitars serviced here this month and the repairs were done very quickly and at a very reasonable price.
HB Aquatics: Got a sweet guitar for a good price, friendly people, cool store. Lots of instruments. Check em out
Ashton Wright: super friendly staff, and so helpful when i was looking for guitars, didn't make me feel like a burden or a pest, which i really valued, & my guitar is perfect! i even got 2 free picks :)
Basic Guitar Dude: This store has the most helpful and knowledgeable staff of any music store ive been in. No matter what instrument you play and what music you play from sunday worship to doom metal. They can find exactly what you need. Their repair technician who is always available even just for answering questions about gear you might want as well as own is is the best in the business. If you own a guitar i wouldnt reccomend a setup from music manor, great price, quick turnaround and its the best work ive hever had done. Made a 22 year old guitar from my room play as well as the day i bought it. I will always be going to music manor from now on as my first choice in instrument sales andService 10/10
Larry Campbell: Great staff good prices
Peter M: I came in here about a week ago now looking at keyboards. I knew almost nothing when walking in the door but that changed during my visit. The staff here is nothing but helpful and genuine. They answered a lot of the questions I had plus ones I didn’t know I should have asked. Next time you’re in grab some stickers and spread the word about this place and support local.
Kenneth Morgan: Nice a friendly staff I was very satisfied
Elijah Zech: I enjoy this place. Very knowledgeable about a variety of instruments. Well rounded staff. Neat store that deserves a face lift but I enjoy that kind of vibe. Would recommend going if you’re looking to get a repair done or to buy.
J R: Very good , needed a singular aged tuning key and the front desk guy went out of his way to track one down, prices are reasonable check it out for sure
Andrew Plizga: I'm from Metro-Detroit and just happened to be driving through Lansing one fateful day when I came across this fine establishment!!!!¡!¡!
Ava Bug: Staff was really friendly and helpful and they have stuff that you might not find at a box store
Djmoe Qawwee: One of the best place in town for live instruments and dj equipment. Also do repairs.
Richard Courtland: Bought all my guitars from music manor.

Piano Lessons with Natalia Bezuglova: what do users think?
Kanishka de Silva: I want to thank Natalia for teaching and transferring your professional piano skills to our kids as I see a significant improvement, enthusiasm and interest in Andrew's piano skills within a very short period of time. Your teaching skills are very effective in making a positive and significant impact on beginner pianists like Andrew. Thanks for doing what you are doing and please keep up the good work! Kanishka
Jennifer Gentner: Phenomenal teacher of all ages and skill levels
Hend Azhary: Natalia is a very thoughtful and professional music teacher who puts a lot of thoughts into how she presents the material, my son is so lucky to have such a talented teacher like her.
Dayna H: Natalia is wonderful. She is passionate, professional and friendly. She expects you to practice and do your best. If you do that, the return on your investment will be more than you could imagine. I'm very happy that she's my teacher!
Peter Neofotis: Natalia Bezuglova is a pianist of incredible skill, talent, and knowledge. It is such a gift to be able to take lessons from a pianist of such calibre who gives her students careful attention and generally shares their love of the piano! I'm an adult learner and I'm so grateful for her guidance!
Nhan Le: I feel fortunate that Dr. Bezuglova doesn't charge me extra for tagging along with my son. Artistic sensibility, left brain vs. right brain, resilience, sweetness, humor, courage,... That's just a sample of spillover experience I get while sitting in my 7-year-old's piano lessons with her.Dr. Bezuglova meets our son's learning needs without compromising the artistic and technical standards of the music. We feel 100% secure in her knowledge of music, of piano techniques, and of developing musicianship. Her empathy helps our son aspire to higher goals and build inner motivation to reach them. His learning journey is not without setbacks. She teaches him - and us - how to cope with disappointment and channel it for successes. We make great new friends from her community of pupils.Educational science and anecdotal experience confirm the pivotal impact a great teacher can make in one's life. Dr. Bezuglova has the skills and passion to be that teacher for your child. Through music, she's already changed our son's life - and ours - for the better.
Borzoo Bonakdarpour: My daughter started studying piano when we lived in Iowa with another teachers. Then COVID started and she received online lessons for almost 18 months. When we moved to Michigan she started in-person lessons with Natalia and she had a huge jump in every aspect, technique, musicality, interpretation, etc. Natalia is a great teacher and musician. We are extremely happy!
Max: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
Melodee Babcock: Natalia is patient and professional. My girls just started lessons have learned so much already.
Raj Gundamraj: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueMy daughter progressed really well and faster on the piano with Natalia. She learnt Suzuki violin, however didn't know much music theory. Natalia taught her professionally well and made it interesting for my daughter.
irasalenko: Natalia is the best teacher forever for us! She is a professional musician, she has about 15 years of teaching experience. When she works with students she always full of energy and ideas for new projects. Natalia offers and selects all musical compositions for students individually. Natalia organizes and leads the concerts for her students every a half of year. We are are so happy with this experience. Very recommend this teacher!
Mulan Zhang: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueAll thanks to Natalia ! I learned a lot with Natalia. Great experience 😁
Cathleen Wang: Positive:ProfessionalismMy favorite piano teacher!
L G: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityNatalia is simply wonderful! My son has thoroughly enjoyed his lessons and we have been amazed with his progress. Natalia has an incredible background in piano. However, it's her ability to connect with her students and inspire them become more accomplished musicians who love the music they play, that really sets her apart.
Ivengo Iv: Natalia changed our life- my daughter started playing piano! We were SUPER lucky to have Natalia as a piano teacher for my 6-year-old daughter during 2017-2018 academic year we spent in East Lansing. After our sabbatical, we moved back to Austin, TX and still could not find even a closer match. Here is why.Natalia is a high level professional: PhD in music from Michigan State, winner of the numerous competitions and an active performer with diverse repertoire. Those achievements translate into exceptional teaching. Natalia has highly effective methodology to teach kids reading notes. My daughter learned how to read notes within 4 months!Natilia is well organized and focused. Every minute of the class is absolutely well spent. She balances theory and practice nicely as well as concentrates on both: technique and musicality. On top of that, Natalia is emotionally invested in every student and knows how to motivate them. My daughter is naturally smart and got used to the fact that many things come easy to her in school. At the same time, my daughter quickly realized that “good enough” attitude dominant in school will not work in her music classes. She realized that she needs to work toward perfection, otherwise the sound is not beautiful. Our learning journey was not always smooth, but I am so glad that Natalia was able to motivate my daughter. Natalia found music pieces my daughter was eager to play – waltz and jazz. She was so excited and proud of herself that she even performed those pieces in front of her school class.Natalia has a sweet personality, but she is a demanding instructor, who kept my daughter on the edge of her abilities. That is why we had a progress that we can not replicate now.I was present in two recitals, organized by Natalia and I could tell that she could easily cater to both groups of parents/students: those who want high level results and whose, who came to her lessons to master deeper music appreciation.I recommended Natalia to our friends in Lansing and as far as I know both of them keep having lessons with her and absolutely happy with the results. If you look for the music teacher, look no further, Natalia is an excellent choice!
X C Y: Shawn went to America four years ago and we were so lucky to have met Natalia in Community Music School. She is a such a beautiful teacher, beautiful in her skill and in mind. Even today Shawn still remembers Natalia's wonderful piano class and the Concert Natalia had organized for Nepal earthquake. Shawn learned a lot from dear Natalia and even today has still kept a great enthusiam for piano and music. He has passed ABRSM piano performance test for Grade 8 with distinction(135 points out of 150 points). And several months ago, he also had his own piano concert for 30 minutes and got his ARSM diploma with distinctoin (46 points out of 50 points) . Now he is Shawn ARSM! He also is an active piano player in his school music teams and some music activities. Dear Natalia, thank you so much for having laid a solid foundation for Shawn and more important, inspiring his love for music and for beautiful things!
Ann Kronrod: We have 4 girls and all 4 of them took lessons with Natalia. The year before that they all had lessons with another teacher and at the end of the year i felt that none of them made any progress - they didn't know how to read notes, they were playing simple and non-inspiring pieces, quite dully actually. When we started to work with Natalia, I saw a quick change: first, the girls started loving music. They started singing. They started listening to music more. They even composed some pieces on their own. At the end of the year the girls played with passion, emotion and technique they did not have before. We then relocated to another state and the girls did not continue to learn piano. Three of the girls went on to learn other instruments besides piano: guitar, ukulele and drums. But 3 years after we left, one of the girls asked to have piano lessons again and her level was so high that she was admitted to the local piano guild. The youngest of my daughters joined a chorus where they had to read notes, and even though 3 years have passed, she remembered note reading. I think this story speaks for Natalia's passion for music, her excellent approach to music education and her talent in bringing up young musicians.
Gyuli Kambarova: Natalia Bezuglova is a very dedicated teacher who encourages students of all ages and levels to unconditionally love music! She opens the whole world of different styles of music where you can quickly learn any type of piano music: solo, duets, chamber music, you will learn your favorite soundtracks by ear, play with play-longs, find out more about music theory and music history, improvise and much more! Her students love her for her kindness, wise advices, passion, and patience. She is an extraordinary musician who leaned piano for decades as a student of a very prestigious conservatory named after S. Rakchmaninoff in Russia. Also Natalia received her doctor degree as a pianist in Lansing University. Being a composer and a piano teacher, I asked her help and advise multiple times and she was always happy to help me! Her performances are full of musical ideas, they have brilliant repertoire and various styles! I strongly recommend her as an astonishing teacher and an accompanist who will change your life forever!
Natalia Bezuglova: Love Natalia! She is wonderful!
Vladimir Peller: She is an excellent teacher. Very professional.
Cristian Meghea: I highly recommend Natalia. She is a great pianist and teacher. My daughter started piano lessons with Natalia when she was 5 years old, and she loves it. Natalia is great with kids and the children make good progress. Our daughter loves piano and her lessons with Natalia.
