Demmer Shooting Sports and Education: what do users think?
Hiba: I recently had the pleasure of visiting Demmer Shooting Range for an archery session, and I must say it was an absolute delight! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome, and my instructor, Don, was simply phenomenal.Don's dedication to his craft was evident from the start. He possessed an impressive wealth of knowledge and expertise in archery, and his passion for the sport was contagious. As an instructor, he excelled in creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for archers of all skill levels. What truly stood out about Don was his respectful and attentive nature. He took the time to understand my goals and tailor his instruction to my specific needs. His patience and willingness to answer all of my questions were truly commendable. Don's ability to break down complex techniques into manageable steps helped me improve my skills significantly during my time at the range. Moreover, Don's communication skills were exceptional. He provided clear and concise explanations, ensuring that I understood the proper form, technique, and safety protocols. His encouragement and positive reinforcement made me feel confident and motivated to push my limits and achieve my archery goals. The facilities at Demmer Shooting Range were top-notch as well. The archery range was well-maintained, clean, and equipped with all the necessary safety measures. The targets were in excellent condition, and the range was spacious enough to accommodate multiple archers without feeling crowded.Overall, my experience at Demmer Shooting Range, guided by the incredible instructor Don, exceeded my expectations in every way. The professionalism, respect, and attentiveness I encountered throughout my visit left a lasting impression on me. I highly recommend this range to anyone interested in archery, whether you're a beginner or an experienced archer looking to refine your skills.A big thank you to Don and the entire team at Demmer Shooting Range for providing such an outstanding archery experience. I can't wait to return and continue my archery journey with their guidance and expertise.
ibrahim abuhaltam: Don was great
Muhammad Yameen CPA, CMA: Excellent place for beginers and also for advance learners. I visited thier once with my kids and the instructor love to teach us archery with their basic equipments for kids and I was using basic in the begining and advance later. If you are a resident of East Lansing the family membership is the best option for the whole family.I am missing the instructor and my center.I search for the archery training center in Maryland but unable to find the same or less than Demmer, I wish Michigan State University (MSU) can start a center in Maryland in cooperation with Morgan State University (MSU).Excelente lugar para principiantes y también para estudiantes avanzados.
David Hineline: Won't go only uses 22 caliber pistols and not allowed to bring higher caliber firearms.
Phenanthrene Blue: I had never handled a gun before and came to Demmer for an introductory rifle course. Our shooting instructors were extremely courteous, patient, and very safety-oriented, and the course was very informative. This is a great place for people new to firearms who want to learn more.
JJ Keesler: This is the best archery range in all of michigan!
Roosvend Lazarre: Very helpful staff
香港记者: 令人上瘾
Mfalme R: I had such an amazing experience at Demmer Shooting Sports. The instructors have done such a beautiful job setting up the shooting range. The instructor was knowledgeable and very helpful.
David Crawford: Very well maintained a Great Place to visit. Staff is friendly and knowledge.
Tracie Benzing: Wonderful facility with state of the art shooting facility
K. Dunbar: Lacks diversity. Some staff members stare at you the whole time which feels awkward and uncomfortable.
Priscila: Great training for pistol and shoot gun. I took the female only class and came in for a couples night once too. I don't come often but feel comfortable when I do. The instructors are patient, kind and make everything they teach you easy to understand for someone who never handled a gun before. Safety is key at this location and you can tell they are trained specialists.
Aaliyah Haqqi: Went there for archery with the youth committee & then the next week with some friends(almost everyone was a first timer). We learned quite a bit and enjoyed ourselves alot. The staff is very helpful and patient with the beginners. Sam is an awesome teacher especially for beginners, they should have more employees like Sam who take the time and help you with your aim, stance, holding the bow and everything in general.
Juan Suasto: Very detailed and experienced staff walk you through the first visit. The equipment works well and the rifle that we rented was right on target.
Sam Wood: Can’t wait to go back.
Jackie Womack: Having never shot a gun before I was a bit anxious. But the instructor made it easy and fun.
Juan Steibel: A great place for beginners and experienced archers. The staff are patient and knowledgeable. If you want to get into archery, don't start by buying equipment. Joint demmer and let the archery range crew introduce you to the sport and guide you through the process. Then you will be able to make a more informed decision regarding equipment. They have classes for all levels and a junior archery program that is second to none in Michigan. Are you an experienced archer? Join demmer for indoor and outdoor leagues and to make friends with other archers.
Angela S: Really enjoyed the 4 week women's program
Parker Rustmann: Really great friendly service here and great place for advice for shooting
david villegas: Great instructor very knowledgeable. Took the time to work with my grandson one on one.

Tracy Olsen: This is a wonderful members only sporting club. It has excellent ranges up to 200 yards with multiple options for pistols, rifles, skeet and archery. There are regular classes and events to take part in and most memebers are polite and safe. There will always be "those people" that all but ruin things for the rest of us but it does not change the fact that this is one of the best shooting ranges in Lansing. Memberships are extremely affordable as well. Grounds are well maintained and board members are personable. Highly reccomend this range.
dads fix: Excellent range, good pricing unlimited use.

Rose Lake Shooting Range: what do users think?
Ryan Miller: Nice range but the fat old range officer needs to go!
David Robinson: The DNR range officers are awesome at this facility. They are super friendly and professional, and true experts . The facility is top notch!!!
John Parish: Great place to shoot clay pigeons.
Kyle Smith: Top notch range personnel. Very helpful and broad range of experience. Excellent experience going to this range.
Joseph Church: No range weapons may be loaded while entering .Doesn't say anything about yes or no to cpl holstered weapons, but you're not allowed to have on site.Unless in a case, not on hip, with no ammo in magsOnly allowed 6 rounds in any firearm at a time. (Less then a low capacity mag)3 seconds between each round.Only one weapon may be loaded at the bench. (this much makes sense)Decent setup for clay.Max 100 yards.Fully outdoors.Unless you live 5 minutes away I would recommend almost anywhere else.
James Edwards: This is a real nice place to shoot.
Robert Wagner: Nice archery range with multiple targets yardages are posted. Well kept and clean.
Tony: Beautiful range. Actual sidewalks leading to the target stands. The only slightly negative was the absence of a 200yd range, gravel road to the range and gravel parking lot. Then it would have been perfect. I would still recommend it to everyone. There are procedures to be followed, but easy to follow them. Safety above all..
luther senter: Great range very clean during staff is very helpful!
Chris Adamson: Nice free spot, rules must be followed but otherwise pretty laid back.
Chris Chamberlain: They were nice and helped me and my little guy sight in our guns. Yes, they are strict with their rules, but it's for everyone's safety (they don't yell at people anymore). Good place. Good people. Good times.
paul bozzo: Always helpful staff, clean, organized, and for me, close to home...
Keegan Budden: It was fun
Nathan Elwood: Everything about this range is top notch. Excellent use of tax dollars which makes this outstanding range absolutely free. The RSO's are friendly and knowledgeable. I told one that I had a dumb question and his response was: "The only dumb question is the one you don't ask!"You show up, bow/firearm in its case, ear/eye pro on, sign in, follow the rules, and you're good to go. They have some sand bags, rifle rests, and even spotter scopes available. Safety is a priority, so as long as you don't mind the 6 rounds per magazine max and 3 seconds in between shots rule, you can't find a better range. Highly recommended especially for beginners.
J Litroff: Ray and the other gentleman working today were extremely helpful and professional. I drove over an hour to get here with my father and will be back!
Nick: Great place for new shooters, or to take your kids. I would also recommend this place to sight in your firearm. This is not a place for training! It is free, with that being said there are a lot of rules that you need to respect. If your looking for the freedom of a gun club range, you should join a gun club. Personally I'm thankful that the state provides a free place to go shoot.
M P: It’s a fudd range with a 6 round limit with 3 seconds between shots but it’s free and I’ve never once been nervous for my safety at a DNR range. Definitely a great use of our taxes
Jenna Crisp: Excellent, clean, safe place to shoot. Range officers are friendly and helpful.
Martin Butler: When I was last there were two shooters. One in rifle and one in pistol. The the rifle shooter was done in 5 minutes and range officer continued to let the 1 shooter on the pistol to continue for the remaining 25 minutes.
Donald Hart: Great area, well maintained and you can’t beat the price! Always have a good time when we come. The range officers have always been friendly and professional when we have been there.
Javon Tinslet: Really clean and great safety practices. Definitely going back. Plus its free $0.

DNR - Shooting Range, Dansville: what do users think?
Kris Lalone: Nobody likes a Government ran range.Expect to be restricted in what you can do with pointless DNR rules.
Cody Wilton: Ive tried to go out to tue range 3 times and the gate is closed but yet it says open and yes ive tried to call them and no answer
Daniel Jaynes: Nice place, seasonal
Dan Wisinski: Great improvements. Place looks brand new. Check hours before going
J. Ervin Bates: Love this range. Sad to see Zach is gone, because he was a good guy to deal with, but Dave is equally personable. He is all about safety, and I am good with that.
Devin Lamb: My family and I were there today 7/27/19 and had a great time. The range officer was a nice guy. He gave us some good pointers on the pistol range and thanked us for bringing our kids. We are looking forward to our next visit.
Roger Weldon: Just wanted to say I was there that day the fellow had the experience with the rifle case issue and being criticized. I was on the pistol rang at the time and it was kinda pissing me off the way this person was treated its amazing how this guy treats some people, because I shoot there often and have seen the same type of behavior with other people seems to be racial profiling also. I agree the guy before was way better person to work with. He was only outspoken when the situation required and then never in a demeaning way. This guy last year was on a power trip I really wanted to let him have it a few times but did not want to get banned from the range. The Range is very nice though besides.
Denny Barnes: This is a great place. And it does not matter how long you have been shooting THE range master is in charge!
andrew mercer: Great range, has 25,50,100 yard ranges, as well as archery. 6 rounds only ok.
Kyle Pulse: I'm actually very sad to give this rating, because up to this point I have very much enjoyed my time at this range. However, today (8/18/2018) I had a very negative experience with the staff. The rangemaster who was in charge today was extremely rude to myself and a friend who was with me. I am an experienced shooter, and I practice safe habits at all times. This rangemaster was hovering over me the entire time I was there and corrected literally everything I did. I opened my gun case incorrectly and had to put the rifle back into the case, and then reopen it in a way the rangemaster approved of. He did not approve of the way I placed my targets, he critiqued my method of reloading magazines. Literally everything I did I was viewed negatively and corrected. By contrast, the former rangemaster has never given me any difficulty at all. I followed all the same rules and practices to which I had been accustomed by my 20-30 prior visits to this range. I and my friend left after 20 minutes and only fired 24 rounds. The rangemaster ruined the experience, and embarrassed me in front of my own guest and the other shooters. I will not return to this range. I will be contacting Michigan DNR Monday to report this.
Justin Wilzer: Nicely updated. And staffed by DNR officer now for safety. Friday thru Sunday only.
Lee Charles: Great range for pistols and rifles. I've been a couple of times and haven't seen it busy but heard it can be right before hunting season.Be aware that they do not allow bird shot, and targets can't be human silhouettes but it's a free range. Another location has skeet shooting
john buyron: good facility in good condition, range officer very helpful even though it wasn't needed and he was very attentive to what was going on
Robert McPhee: Great range, better than it was
Me You: Friendly staff. Great set up.
