Nick Thompson: I worked here when the ownership changed. The new owner doesn’t care about his employees and can’t pay anyone enough to care about their job, so naturally things have gone down hill. He had a good staff and wasted the chance to maintain the Oades reputation. They still have a great selection, but can’t seem to keep the store stocked & customer service has suffered.
Kody Kosloski: I forget my mask from time to time while working. I bounce around different vehicles when working etc (I work automotive). I visit this location often (Old Oades). Had a staff member here throw a huge fit about me asking for a mask and begin to tell me how I shouldn't have forgot a mask and it's been over a year with the mask thing. Let me mention to you they offer them for free for this reason exactly and likely the staff member didn't buy them. Guess I'll walk the extra 10ft and goto admiral instead from now on.
bob smith: Oades oades oades... used to be the best, not just in the Lansing area but going out a good 50 miles. Hell they ordered me a couple Sam Adam's Utopia beers in past years. We've had many great years. Lately it's not the same.Good selection, no longer great. High prices, no longer a little high. And the last couple times I've been it's not the same feeling. I used to be able to go to the counter and say what I wanted and it was grabbed for me... now I've got to lead the clerk around, no more 'hey if you like that double wood maybe try this'...

Jeff Boyd: This review is for the OKEMOS LOCATION. Stopped in and asked for some specialty bourbons. He said the staff gets first pick and that it's a perk of the job so you're probably not going to find any. He also added we don't like to see just anyone get them. I asked if I could reserve a bottle since others stores I have shopped at will do so. He said maybe if you were best friends with someone who works here but I don't know you so..... sorry. Horrible customer service and store policies. I would suggest shopping elsewhere.

Trever Trombly: Its your usual liquor store. But be prepared for a guy, who is always standing outside the building (but not on the property), to ask you for 3 things. Change, a cig, or if you can go in and buy for him. If you do buy for him, he will always be short on change and ask you to cover him. He stands there damn near every day, all day.As soon as you get out of your car or walk out the door, he will IMMEDIATELY ask you (from the sidewalk), for one of those three things. Unfortunately since he's not technically on their property they really can't do anything no matter how many customers he bothers. He also lives across the street so expect him there no matter what.

Harold Kaplowitz: Love the eclectic vibes and locally made offerings at this establishment. I’ve even made up names and personas for the regular crowd of employees I see shuffling in and out. First we have “Barbara” - that’s the elderly white lady. She used to be a receptionist but then she decided she wanted a career change. She loves QD butter pecan ice cream. Next we have “Carl” the portly Asian fellow. He’s a mild mannered fellow who’s lived in Lansing his whole life and just looking for something to pay the bills. Next is “Ted” the lanky white guy who looks like he still lives in his moms basement. He likes to spend his time playing video games. His fingers smell bad, and he loves QD donuts. If any of you see this review please let me know what you think! See ya soon for an Apple fritter and iced cold coke
