Jeanne Donado: I called to reschedule a procedure and was asked to leave a call back number, which I did. Several days later hadn't heard back, so called again. The person who answered transferred my call to the scheduling dept., where I stayed hold for almost 15 minutes. Hung up, called again, and the same thing happened. It shouldn't be this crazy to reschedule. Couldn't help but think of someone who might be calling during a work break with limited time off, who couldn't wait a half an hour without getting through. I understand that many medical offices don't have adequate staffing, but in my view this isn't acceptable.
Adrianna Montgomery: Came here yesterday because my husband needed to redo his upper endoscopy, and all the staff were sooo kind from the beginning to end. It was just a much better atmosphere than being at sparrow. Everyone seemed to be so happy and in a great mood which made a better experience. Shout out too Connie in admissions, Joey the pre op nurse, Lori, and Lisa. And of course Dr Jones!!!! (Ask for Dr. Jones if you can, and come here to get your procedure if possible). Also one of the nurses even helped me walk my husband to the car because he was still a little wobbly. Thank you all from us both!!!
Carrie Howard: I had an EGD and colonoscopy earlier this morning, and I received excellent care from all the staff at the Lansing Surgery Center. My amazing nurse Joey got my IV on the first try, Dr. Jones was fantastic and addressed all my questions with grace and patience, and the nurse anesthetist gave me the best nap I've had in a while with absolutely no side effects from the anesthesia (I usually get extremely nauseous). Seriously, the prep was the worst part. Everything after that was easy peasy. If you have the option to have a procedure performed here, then I would highly recommend it. We were in and out in three hours!

Liz Horford: Everyone was polite and professional but more importantly everyone was kind. They made polite conversation to take my mind off the procedure. They were even extremely understanding about me being a few minutes late.This is a huge contrast to the doctor's office who ordered the test. I tried desperately to call them several times the day of my procedure to confirm the location for my colonoscopy. I could not get an answer as the phone system just kept trying to send me through their website. Imagine my surprise when I showed up at the office and there were three receptionists sitting there. First I apologized because I could hardly stand up due to the preparation for the procedure (no food and very little sleep and lots of vomiting for 36 hours). I asked where I needed to go. One of the young women said "the surgery center right down the road". I said "could you please write down the address." She ignored me and said "Lansing Surgery Center". I asked again so she finally wrote it down. Then I asked if she could please call them and tell them I would be a few minutes late. She said "no". Then the woman sitting behind her said "if you're late they won't even see you". Luckily I went and Lansing Surgery Center showed me that medical professionals can indeed be kind and understanding and believe in outstanding customer service.

Debbie Sees: Went in for cataract surgery and was amazed at how kind and skilled everyone was there. I felt so comfortable and well-cared-for. I highly recommend this center for any of your needs.
madeline curl: The receptionist that helped us was very friendly and helpful. However the taller, closer to the door receptionist is rude and unprofessional. Why would you hire someone who lacks empathy for patients GOING INTO SURGERY. Brought my father here for EYE SURGERY and she was incredibly rude and made comments about him not reading the sign. MAAM HE IS THERE FOR EYE SURGERY. Get over yourself. How unprofessional and what an unpleasant and rude person. Something needs to be done about her. He was incredibly anxious about having this surgery and she made the experience that much worse.
M Kowalewsky: Phenomenal! The kindest, most understanding staff! Our young son needed a simple eye procedure that required general anesthesia. We were nervous how he was going to fare considering he generally doesn't like medical related situations. The staff, especially Hayley, Annett, and others who I can't recall (sorry!) were so accommodating, explained everything, made us feel comfortable, had vast experience with young patients, and sympathized as they, too, are parents. Dr. Lewis from LO Eye Care was fantastic, too! Quick procedure and very well done! They all took wonderful care of our son. Just a great experience from pre-surgery all the way through to the day after phone call. Excellent! Many thanks!

Randi Trumble: Dr. Lebeda recently performed my tonsillectomy at MSC. The facility is clean, convenient, and easy to navigate. I felt very safe here. Every part of this experience was exceptional- Becky at the front desk was welcoming and informative. The nursing care I received was such that it made me proud to be a nurse. The nurse who called me to verify my information actually came to care for me in pre-op because she knew I was nervous, and hoped this would help me feel more comfortable. All of the nurses who cared for me practiced with excellence. Dr. Johnson, anesthesiologist was incredibly kind, and patiently answered all of my questions and changed my anesthesia course based on my personal needs. Dr. Lebeda is truly a wonderful physician who has been invested in listening to my concerns, and including me in my own treatment plan decisions. His explanation of my procedure and what to expect set me up for reasonable expectations for recovery. What could have easily been a traumatic experience turned into something truly healing because of MSC's commitment to great care.
Jeanette Minniear: This is a premier facility and as others have said, from the phone calls, check in, Drs and staff, it was an enlightening experience. I feel hospitals should operate at the same high quality care that I experienced at MSC.I had never had an anesthesiologist who gave me so much information and treated me with so much care. He even saw that I had a special warming blanket put atop me, as he saw I was cold.Very impressed!Great job to all at MSC!!!

Claire Pomerson: Our 4 year old had to get tubes in his ears. The entire staff was amazing! From the lady at the intake desk to the nurse in recovery, every single person we interacted with was friendly and GREAT with our son, making him as comfortable as possible. The facility was very clean and nice, as well.

Jeff: This is how all business should be run.Everything about my experience from leading up to my visit and days after was amazing. Any questions I had was answered with professionalism. Warm blankets, drink, snacks, post-op to ensure I was comfortable. Everyone seemed like they loved their job and enjoy working there.Would 100% recommend to anyone.

Jamie Klinger: The billing department here is rude and is overcharging for procedures done before initial screenings are even done. They want payments up front when the insurance covers 100% for screenings. They billed for diagnosis instead of initial screening. My uncle went in for just a regular screening and they billed him for diagnosis which was $800, which the insurance wouldn't cover because they changed the word from screening to diagnosis.

Kristen Kamal: My 71 year old mother underwent cataract surgery here for her second eye (first eye completed two weeks ago) earlier this week. As a fellow health care professional, I’m appalled by the quality of her care and the lack of responsibility taken by the staff for what occurred. Her first surgery was only complicated by five failed attempts to obtain IV access and otherwise went well. For this surgery, her eyes were not properly numbed, no check was in place to ensure they were, she was quickly given Versed for sedation and rushed back into the surgery room (to maintain the busy schedule). Unfortunately, she was not properly sedated and awoke multiple times during her procedure due to the pain(again she was not properly locally anesthetized prior to being sedated and inadequately sedated). The surgeon, anesthesiologist and other team members all noted her awakenings and verbal complaints. They were unable to achieve further sedation without intubating, so they opted to proceed without better analgesia or sedation. After the procedure, NO REPORT of these events were mentioned to my father who was her care partner for this procedure. It was only when she returned for a follow up the next morning and my mother stated to the surgeon that she recalled being in terrible pain throughout the surgery and was helpless to stop it from proceeding that the surgeon admitted these facts. The most insulting and disgusting behavior perhaps, is that the nursing manager spoke with my mother over the phone later that day (post op day 1) only to tell her “You received everything you received the first time, so we did everything correctly.” (A cover your license phone call with zero empathy for the patient’s horrendous experience). This is a sentinel event by Joint Commission standards and should be investigated as such to prevent this from ever happening to another patient. Unfortunately, there has been no talk of this nor any real evidence of true empathy on behalf of this surgery center. Would not recommend when there are other facilities striving to provide optimal care and patient experience.
Kenneth Palmer: Came here today for an Upper Endoscopy. The whole process only took about 3 1/2 hours from check in, to procedure, to leaving and going home.The nursing staff was fantastic. Very friendly and made you feel very comfortable. I didn't talk to a single person that was not smiling, unlike the big hospitals where everyone looks disgruntled. Dr. Wood was also very professional and met with myself before and after the procedure to ask how things were going and to answer any questions.If given the option between a big hospital and this Genesis, I'll be coming to Genesis.All in all a very very good hospital/surgery/procedure experience. Probably the best I have had so far.

A “K” B: The Grand River Surgical Center was an impeccable experience for me. Dr. Sufyian is a great, knowledgeable, and a very friendly man. I highly recommend whoever needs their nose surgery, to see Dr. Sufyian. I am more than happy with his procedure he had conducted on me. I wish I had done it sooner, but didn't know.

Lev Raphael: Wow! This center was so new-looking and spotless it could have just been unwrapped. The staff was friendly, fast, efficient and I couldn't have had a better surgical experience. One small glitch: the "boot" they gave me was too big and awkward. Luckily I had a smaller one from a previous surgery and switched.

Kelsey Casper: Dr. Deepen is a great surgeon. Had my gallbladder removed and feel 100% back to normal. The recovery took about two weeks. No more pain.
Pratiksha B: What an amazingly warm and welcoming staff! Everyone from Lindsey at Check-in to Marige who was the MA, Sue who helped schedule our appointment were all great. Having healthcare related issues is never fun, but with an office staff like this where everyone genuinely cares for your well being and making you comfortable it helps make dealing with health related problems a little easier.
Joseph Messer: I kinda feel robbed. I paid cash $75, which I really didn't have. sacrifices were made with the hope of getting a bit more answers. We spoke for maybe 5 to 10 minutes. no hernia, but still no explanation for pain and his examination caused more pain and discomfort than what I had before I came in. I have the sneaking suspicion that if I would have had insurance, this visit would have gone a bit differently. On the positive side the staff were very friendly and the office looked nice. Thanks

Thomas Richardson: Very disappointed with the follow through from Dr. Deppen. He ordered a CT scan for a possible hernia which was completed and never followed through. The CT showed cancer on a kidney as an incidental diagnosis and yet I never heard from him or his office. Ended up having a partial nephrectomy by another surgeon and still no follow-up other than a bill for an office visit.
