Fawad Ansari: Amazing service! They were closed and still made my order to go. The ceviche was delicious and the saltado was great too. Will be going back for sure.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Veggie Saltado - Vegan Stir Fry, Ceviche …More
Gary Wohlscheid Jr.: Best and very authentic Peruvian experience in Lansing! Finally! Good quality products with great taste. If you want to try something different and have never experienced Peruvian cuisine, go here! It'll become your new favorite spot. My wife is Peruvian and I fell in love with this cuisine when we got married. Loved it!
Jonathan Szostak: Tantay was catering at a charity event and had by far the best food of any of the other vendors. Thier soup was amazing, the chicken and rice was spicy and flavorful, and the quinoa dish was the best quinoa dish I've ever had. The next time I am in Lansing I'll be stopping by to try their actual restuarant. Give them a shot, you won't regret it!Vegetarian options: Vegan options, vegetarian options, all delicious options
Alicia Chiaravalli: The staff is super friendly- and this incubator kitchen is inspiring. I ordered the Aji de Champinones on this moist, chilly day- and it was perfect. Warming, flavorful, and delicious. They even brought out free samples of Pincones- a fried, sweet treat.

Jonathan Felman: Had the pollo saltado and it was so good, will be back to try the ceviche and others, I hope this restaurant grows bigger because their food is excellent

Andy E: What a neat little place! I live a couple hours away, but have been craving Peruvian food, so we made it a day trip to the city and stopped in for lunch. Food was absolutely delicious!! Can't wait until the next time we make it into Lansing so I can get more lomo saltado
Jim maddix: Wonderful food and service. When they expand it will be a favorite of mine.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
Landon Bartley: Delicious. If this is what Peruvian food is like I will be searching out Peruvian food. I had chicken stir fry and a bite of snapper ceviche. Both were really excellent & the picarones with fig syrup were a treat. I look forward to seeing their food truck at events (in GR too!) & I will be back.3☆ atmosphere just bc its a plain storefront restaurant and a function of the space. Food & service were both great; hearty lunch portion was $14.50, picarones were $2/ & Saturday-only.Vegetarian options: Several items on menu were vegetarian and clearly labeled so.Kid-friendliness: My buddy brought his two small children and they were just fine. The donuts are made of sweet potatoes a little expectation management goes a long way.
Eric Kastelic: Jose is amazing to talk with and the food will keep you coming back.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Brandon Gallegos: WOW!!! Lansing has a hidden gem! And this gem is called Tantay!! The food here was absolutely fantastic! I 100% recommend this place. The food was cooked and prepared with so much love. The food is a explosion of flavor; words don’t do it justice. You have to try it for yourself. We ordered Aji de Gallina - Chicken Stew, Aji de Champiñones - Mushroom Stew, Solterito de Quinoa - VEGETARIAN SALAD and Red Lentil Soup. Every dish was amazing. The Aji de Gallina - Chicken Stew and Aji de Champiñones - Mushroom Stew were both so creamy and decadent, with a perfect level of spice. Definitely will be returning and recommending this to anybody I know. I cannot wait to try more dishes. Peruvian food is amazing and they put so much love and work into their food. Also the owner and staff are very friendly. Thank you for the wonderful experience.
Aldous George: Fantastic Peruvian food! You can taste the passion and care that the chef puts in to bring you authentic Peruvian food to your table. Sure he takes a little longer to bring that out to you but let me tell you the wait is completely worth it. They are also the most friendly people. Give them a try.I had the ceviche, Lomo Saltado and Picarones. The ceviche was very fresh. There was a perfect balance of tart and sweetness with the citrus and sweet potato that completes the fish just so right. It was light enough to serve as appetizer but filling enough to leave me satisfied. The Lomo Saltado was perfectly spiced. It had the right combination of vegetables to beef and the potatoes on top. The rice pyramid was a great addition as well. I enjoyed every bite of it.The Picarones. It was my first time having picarones and I had no idea what to expect when I heard it's like a doughnut with yam and squash. Anyway, I wasn't expecting the most lightest doughnut with the perfect outer crust and a nice soft, moist inside. The orange syrup drizzle completed it in the best way possible. (For first timers, picarones aren't as sweet as doughnuts, it's still delightful just manage your sweet expectations).I'll be visiting Lansing more often now for this amazing meal.
Gary Schomberger: Hidden Gem of Lansing! Most Peruvian food is some out of a can/jar mix tire but this place is taking the time to bring in fresh food with real flavor. A must for those who know or want to explore the flavors of Peru for the 1st time!
Nicholas Humphrey: Went during the quarantine, when he had the outdoor tables and everything, best meal of 2020 !
mike martinez: Muy excelente es mi primera ves comiendo comida peruana! Me comí el aji de champiñones y es mi favorito voy a regresar y probar otros platillosVery excellent, its my first time eating Peruvian food! I ate the aji de champiñones and its my favorite, im definitely going back to try more of their plates

TATSE: what do users think?
Jennifer Trocke: This place looks closed. Drove from out of town and the chairs were all stacked up, no hours on the doors, etc. We came at 5pm on a Saturday and the reported hours are 4-8 that day.
Alexander Woods: I love, love, love the food here!! I have been excited about this place since it came to Lansing. The owner is a great person and you can taste the high quality of food provided and the friendly service given. My go-to is a spicy chicken bowl with the vegetables and plantains. Great music, great staff, and they even have events to attend on the weekends. Just ask!Parking: It's city parking, so it's free after a certain time but you have to use the passport app or the kiosk to pay for parking. It's not expensive in my opinion.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a handicap parking spot, next to a even surface to use a wheelchair
C Blanks: I really enjoyed my meal at Tatse! The food was flavorful and tasted like someone put their heart into creating a comforting meal with fresh, quality ingredients.
Sean B: Wow! Is all I can say about an unexpected culinary delight. A small unobtrusive store front hides a great food experience a stones throw from the State Capital. We would have walked by if the owner wasn't coming out.Our order was taken at the counter, and brought to our table. It is a small menu, but the food is good. Alcohol options, canned soda and beer available.Food is delicious. Definitely something out of the ordinary. Large spicy chicken bowl, small chicken bowl and 2 drinks were 42 dollars. Not a bad deal for something out of the ordinary in downtown Lansing.Family owned and run, with a chill atmosphere this place becomes a nightclub after 10:00.I will probably go back the next time I am in town.
Lori Smith: I love the Fufu and 🍲 🍜 🍵Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5 …More
Myah Gamet: The atmosphere, food, and the staff were all amazing, and i cannot wait to come back and try more!!! So exciting to see new and delicious food in Lansing
Mitchell Hemesath: This place is great. Food is very delicious and it is fast. I wish they had more options on the menu, but what they have is amazing.Vegetarian options: I think their bean bowl and veg bowl are vegetarian.
Metaga Moïse Dembele: African vibes with great-tasting food, music, and atmosphere. YOU! Need to check it out for yourself to feel it!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Jeremie Jay: The fufu is not good it’s not even fufu 🤦🏾‍♂️ y’all need to get the white oneVegetarian options: Idk what to say fr but y’all need to do good fr
Kris Kobylarz: Food was delicious! We loved the Spicy Chicken Bowl! Goat in the Egusi was good too!Would have loved to give it 5 stars but it was a bit expensive.Very good culinary experienceRecommended dishes Fufu with Egusi, Spicy Chicken …More
Stacyann “Cici” Clarke: Food is a little expensive, but extremely delicious and worth every penny. This place has a unique ambiance, vibrant style, and friendly service. The only change I think would be helpful is better take out containers, (maybe plastic instead of the cardboard containers for the egusi soup). Again food quality and taste is spot on.....yummy. I will definitely be back.
QweenBee: Food: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Aquina Huntley: Fufu and Egusi soup was delicious 😋will definitely be back. Had a nice experience here and the inside of the restaurant was a vibe with the music playing!

Angela Zeigerbacher: Great food! I've tried the veggie bowl, bean bowl and yam bowl and they're all great. Perhaps the yam bowl is my favorite and definitely a side of the delicious plantains!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Hojoon Kim: I used to live in East Africa. This restaurant is more rooted in West Africa which is something I have not tried before. Nonetheless food is as authentic as it gets. With first bite you will know how much effort has been put into the food. Highly recommend this place
Bill McClain: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Parking space Plenty of parking Parking options Free street parkingMore
KeyBreed: I am writing this review from a place of pure embarrassment and sickness. Thinking I would trying something new and support local black owned businesses I ignored all red flags from them not having what I originally wanted to the rudely unenthusiastic person taking my order. I did not know I was gonna be robbed of a beautiful day, being spent not knowing which end this $20 spicy chicken bowl was gonna forcefully come out of me. I’m truly disappointed in myself for not turning around after walking into this place. I didn’t enjoy this meal I didn’t even eat 25% of it. I’m just glad I didn’t let my son nor my dog eat this. So please people do not be like me. Go somewhere else.
Lori W: Great food nice owner we'll be backFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Blaine Buckingham: Stopped In for Lunch after hearing about the food... I am In LOVE!! Sooo good!! I'll be back for sure!Service was great! Food was prepared really quickly and neatly..I'm soo impressed really! :) give them a try!!

Elizabeth Mestelle: 10 Stars if 10 were an option. We parked right outside on a beautiful day! The hostess seated us immediately in a sunny spacious dining room with lots of room between tables. Our waitress Keisha was very attentive without being pushy. The huge menu offered a choice of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and small plates. The hardest part was selecting what we wanted. My guest was very pleased with her choice of a cup of asparagus bisque and the Kickin' Pastrami sandwich. I chose the Wet Breakfast Burrito! The rosemary sausage gravy generously served over the delicious burrito of eggs, bacon, hash browns, peppers, and onions was beyond superb! To top it off, my friend's birthday entitled her to a fabulous complementary dessert. She chose the bread pudding soaked in a caramel syrup and topped with real whipped cream. Wise Keisha brought it with two spoons so we could share! We love Soup Spoon Cafe!Vegetarian options: So many options! And they all are delicious.Kid-friendliness: A nice restaurant to teach kids how to enjoy good food in a wonderful atmosphere without being stuffyParking: Michigan Avenue has parallel parking.
