Seams Fabric: what do users think?
Grace C: The employee working was kind and extremely helpful. We had such a lovely chat about cats and she even gave me a free plant! The owner obviously puts a lot of care and love into the shops content and appearance. It's so nice to shop somewhere genuine!
Sarah Rapelje: This is my happy place! You always feel welcome! They have the best fabric! The quality is vastly superior to local sources. They are conscious of their sourcing, impact on the earth and sustainability. They are a true local treasure. If you get the opportunity to go do yourself a favor and check it out.
Tracy B: What a hidden gem, tucked away on the east side of Lansing, this little fabric store has the nicest fabrics. They carry a beautifully curated selection of natural materials, many I had only seen online. It’s so nice to see a store focus on Indy sewing and embroidery patterns, quality fabrics and excellent customer service. Hands down my favorite place to visit in Lansing.
Jeff Carlson: Very cool fabrics you wont find elsewhere very easily.
Laura Antonius: Seams is a wonderful store where it’s easy to spend a long time browsing. They have a great selection of high quality fabrics, embroidery supplies, sewing patterns for all ability levels, and some notions. It’s a small store so it can get crowded when there’s more than a few people. They offer classes periodically and the one that I took was really great - yes it’s a little pricey but you get hands on personal instruction from experienced teachers so definitely worth it.The service at Seams has been great every time I’ve been in. Staff is pleasant and helpful without being overbearing, they’re happy to let you browse away. When you do have questions you’ll find out that they are all extremely knowledgeable about their products and about sewing and textiles in general. 10/10 great place, will be back many more times.
Moeystar 232: Please don't go to Joann's, Michael's or Hobby Lobby for fashion fabrics. Support a local business and go here instead! Although their selection is a tad small, they carry beautiful, sustainable fabrics, notions, and patterns, all at a fair price. You're greeted INCREDIBLE customer service, and welcomed as a part of the local sewing community they're working to bolster. I absolutely love the fabric I purchased today and can't wait to go back!
Julie Powers: Popped in to check out the needlework section (small but well curated) and hung out with Jessy (the owner) as she was demonstrating indigo dye techniques. Love that we have this level of handcraft knowledge in the region!
Michelle Patterson: Nothing short of phenomenal customer service!!! Very helpful, patient and enthusiastic with answering all of my questions.
Rina Risper: Seams was the first business that I was aware of that mobilized to make masks during the pandemic. It was a great experience and coupled with their professional customer service and top notch products, I became hooked. Literally, I started stitching again. I purchased some embroidery kits and patterns. The store is well laid out and the colors and quality of the fabrics are fantastic. It is a must visit for lovers of sewing and needlework. The owner is in the photo.
Al: This shop is so incredibly lovely. The person who helped us was really kind and very willing to help. I loved their button collection and we got several little things. Totally a great place to check out.
Robert Jinksy: Amazing place for all your sewing needs. The person there was super helpful and they carry a ton of fabrics, threads, and sewing equipment. I will ne going there from now on. They are super knowledgeable!
Klaatu Nectarine: Really cool supplies!
Ivy Rose: cutest little fabric store. take all my money
Joanne Theis: I love this store, I love their fabric, staff is so warm, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The fabric I have purchased is impeccable and I love it.
Natasha Lawson: Super kinds helpful service with tons of fun fabrics, and embroidery kits. Will be back as soon as I finish the three projects I picked up today! 😂
Emily Leach: I love Seams! Such a great shop with helpful people, beautiful fabrics, and a lot of other really cool crafting/sewing necessities.
Whitney Herbert: The TARDIS of fabric stores -- it must be bigger on the inside, because I don't know how they fit so much amazing fabric into such a small space. But there are always 37 fabrics I need. The patterns are better than the generic ones you find in big box stores. And there's always fun gifty stuff for the sewists in your life. The shop is well curated, and run by extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff. The owner is a true pillar of the community and gives back in too many ways to even count. We are truly lucky to have this store in our community!
Rebecca Froebe: I went to pick up my curbside order today, and an employee rushed outside to get my info before I could finish dialing the phone to let them know I was there!I've never seen such service!Everything in my order was perfect. :)
Nora Madden: Tiny but mighty! This store has expert (but kindly) sewists on staff, a surprisingly broad collection of fabrics (especially for garment sewing), and great extras like embroidery kits, iron-on patches, indie patterns, and notions. They do have some higher-end, harder-to-find garment fabrics (like Merchant and Mills), but lots of affordable workhorses as well, for all kinds of projects. They also have "eco-conscious" options like organic cotton thread and estate-sale fabrics, and great remnants. Despite being a boutique in a high-rent area, they are not at all snobby, and are no more expensive than the big sewing chain store in the nearby strip mall. Queer-friendly. Shares some space with the equally-great yarn shop next door.
Deb Donovan: I purchased fabric from Seams twice online. The website is easy to use and the design wall is a really handy feature if you're using more than one fabric for a project. The fabric I got was represented accurately on the website. I received my order sooner than I expected.
Kate McFarland: I love ordering from Seams! They have a great selection of garment fabrics, and some wonderfully fun and funky quilting fabrics, too. Shipping is fast, and the one time there was a small question about my order, the shop contacted me almost immediately to get the information they needed from me, and got my order out into the mail the next day. Seams fan for life!
