Lansing Makers Network: what do users think?
Liutauras Gedvilas: So much to learn! Great community and if you’re a “maker”, you’ll want to make use of this facility and all it has to offer.
James Hays: I'm able to use a lot of tools here I wouldn't otherwise have access to. I've learned a lot and have enjoyed volunteering.
Joe Bowden: I took the Blacksmithing Beginners - Rose class. Instructor Cliff was great, I don't normally do craft or arts at all but I think it turned out really well and it was a fun experience.
Jair Johnson: Great blacksmithing class, knowledgeable staff. Definitely going back
Sir Ryos: Took the beginners Soldering class and had a great time. The instructors really know their craft, and the volunteers and staff are incredible people.
Andy Ball: Reserve right to give 5 stars in future. The entirely volunteer based program can take some time to respond to issues with equipment, but there are systems in place to keep these problems to a minimum. There is a wide range of equipment available for use, depending on what equipment you want to use it might take some time to get trained on safe and proper use.Very much like a gym membership for a shop without the predatory membership style. They have created an amazing welcoming and tight knit community. A large amount of thought and effort has been put into ways to facilitate this. The community works around an open online forum that is setup to facilitate the share of information, help, and organizing trainings.
Vic Reynaud: Great place ,clean with tools and equipment for many disaplens, friendly people.
Keith Davis: Awesome place!
Evelyn D: Love this place so much
Todd Buck: Blacksmithing
Tabletop Santa (Geektography USA): An interesting and needed space for the community. Offers so many different opportunities to learn useful trade skills and to be a part of a creative community. Absolutely recommend everyone visit this space, take a tour and join and make something amazing.
Jimmy Coyer: Love this place! Spend as much free time there as I can. Cool people show you how to make cool stuff!
Roy Stauffer: Best place ever
Chris Eakin: Refund owed due to COVID. I cannot get anyone to call me back or respond to emails consistently to resolve. Update: Situation was resolved and refund was remitted.
Scott Peck: Took my fourteen year old there for the taste of woodworking long grain cutting board build. My goal was to give my teenager an outlet other than video games. He had a great time and is interested the 3D printer and laser cutter they have available.
Don Jessup: This was a great experience
Brendon Thiede: Very cool place. My kids loved looking around
dan lance: Great community and a nice place to learn a new hobby (or ten!). I walked in as a total novice and never once felt anything but welcomed. These people love to share their passions. I've been a member ever since. Try the cutting board class for an introduction!
Eric Woerner: Although I am no longer a member, the time I spent there was great. friendly people willing to help out with design or how to use a particular tool. I wish I lived closer and had more time to spend there.
Ben Campbell: One of the best things about Lansing
Jeremy LaFleur: The place to go if you like blacksmithing. Anvils, hammers, forges, vices, tongs and stock all ready to use. Use of the forge area requires a full membership though.
