Greetings Tour: We painted this parking garage structure into our Greetings from East Lansing mural. We quickly learned of all the nicknames including “habitrail”, “hamster cage”, etc. as well as the public’s varying opinion on the structure. Aside from negative and positive views, there’s no doubt this is a very unique downtown landmark for the city. We went up to the roof to catch the sunset one evening and we think it’s a very fun, colorful structure that actually matches our RV custom colors! The painted garage within our mural can be found at the back of Harrison Roadhouse restaurant.

Christopher Hessler: The hamster cage is an utter eye sore BUT it's a landmark in downtown EL. I dont know what they could have done to make this thing more hideous. A neon cowboy or inflatable Barney the dinosaur would make this thing more appealing - inflatable dinosaur would be pretty cool actually. On the good side parking in here doesn't fill the nostrils with the aroma of stale beer, weed and pee - so good job on that.
