The laws and policies towards foster parents causes a lot of mixed experience, which has nothing to do with the agency itself. There is a lot of turnover, but that’s normal in this industry - it’s a hard one to work in.

Teresa Matheny: Talia and Tonya have went above and beyond to help us adopt our son! We had an extremely difficult case (by no fault of theirs), and they refused to give up. I have never worked with an attorney that gave me their personal cell phone number. They have both worked non-stop round the clock and have been available at all hours of the night, even for my moments of panic. When I say all hours of the night, i mean i have called them both several times at 11pm or later, and they always answered - ALWAYS. Through this difficult process, they have proven to be more than just our attorney - but we consider them our friends. I honestly don’t think we could have gotten through our adoption without them. We will forever be indebted to both of them - they made our family complete!

Tara Noel: I am a birth mother and when I found morning star.. I was able to set up the most amazing adoption I didnt know was possible. I was able to find my son 2 angels who were sent to me to love and cherish him the way I do. Personally, I wanted to be a lil more involved then just a regular adiption. Morning star made the whole process very stress free. All done at MY pace which was very important to me. Now my son is 2 and has a better life then I could ever have imagined and I get to be apart of it! Thank you Morning Star❤

C Wink: Wow. This "Rescue" is terribly run. It's heartbreaking. We know the couple that fostered the Momma, a feral neighborhood cat. Put in an application for one of her beautiful babies, took a few emails over a month to get a response... first red flag. We then learned the kittens were unceremoniously taken from that home at about 7 weeks old, and they (Carole) had the audacity to tell this generous, animal loving couple that they should take a break from fostering.... what kind of pet adoption org. does or says that?Then the phone call about us adopting the kitten that we've been getting updates, pics and videos on for 6 weeks... no relevant questions asked, didn't even inquire about the temperament or personality of our beautiful, energetic, spoiled 2 year old baby kitty that we adopted from the Ferndale Cat Shelter (EXCELLENT organization, very thorough application process), OR all the LOVE, amazing cat towers, window seats, toys and attention the kitty would receive. Seriously, Debi (who sounded beyond disinterested and like I was bothering her) just asked where my husband worked and that was about it.The whole process was beyond weird and extremely unprofessional. Ferndale Cat Shelter is solely volunteer run too, so that excuse holds no water... seriously, what are you looking for in an adoptive family? You asked ZERO questions that actually matter in the kitties best interest. I really hope these kittens get amazing homes, because your criteria is sorely lacking. You all really missed the mark on this one. I will strongly not recommend you in the future.

Andrew Rodney: Do not become a foster parent with this agency. It may very well lead to the death of a child. My wife and I were recently and from the CEO on down they were horrible to work with. Per other foster parents, they are in the middle of a downward spiral. We took a placement of two children with a very complicated case and they assigned a first-time caseworker to it. The children's lives are now in danger because of the negligence of the agency. When we involved supervisors to address issues, the problems only got worse. The worker that got us registered with them was great, but all of their case working staff are terrible. Do not be fooled. Go to Bethany Christian or another more reputable agency. Working with Spaulding may well result in children dying or being seriously traumatized as was our experience.
