Dachshund Haus Rescue: what do users think?
Mary Baughman McCoy: Not enough info for even deciding to fill out an application. Prices would be nice, especially the Seniors for Seniors reduced program, especially for adopting bonded Senior dogs. I love Dachshunds. I am a retired nurse, but I cannot personally fund your program. I think you are deceptive by not showing the fees.

Dachshund Haus and Corgi Rescue: what do users think?
Holly Wiener: We just fostered and have now adopted three bonded senior dachshunds! The rescue people were so helpful & kind, from helping pick up these 3 dogs, who were in poor shape, to getting them surgeries to get them in optimal health! It’s a great place to surrender a doxie & a great place to adopt one! ADOPT - don’t shop!!! These dogs deserve a second chance! Thank you Dachshund Haus & Corgi Rescue!!
lauren donofrio: I adopted my pup from them 3 years ago and he is the best doxie ever! They really take great care of the dogs until finding them a great home. Highly recommend.
Lisa Jo Mattheiss: Please support this super rescue. The veterinarians give these dogs the best care at a discount but the bills are still significant. Our foster homes take care of any disabled, sick, and injured dogs. Then they find them forever safe homes. Thank you for your help. 🐾 🐶
Mandy Moak: I am so grateful !!!! That I found such an amazing rescue. Highly recommend!
Alicia Prucknic: Best rescue ever! Hands down. Saving so many dogs and lovingly placing them into great homes.
Kimberly Boyd: I began with the Dachshund Haus and Corgi rescue around two years ago... first as a foster family and I now also help out with processing applications to adopt and foster. I am so impressed with the BIG HEARTS everyone in the group has... from those who are new/repeat foster families and transporters to those who support the group with their ever-important $. When we are alerted to a pup in need, everyone jumps in to get them to a safe place. It is all so inspirational and I'm so proud to be affiliated!
Amy Besser: I recently joined this group to help foster. I'm absolutely amazed how everyone works together to help these dogs! They lead a normal life like everyone (work & home life) & still work endlessly & immediately when a dog is in need. Many of the dogs that come in need extensive medical help & they always make sure they get any treatment needed. Everyone goes above & beyond. And I can't be prouder of the people I volunteer with.
Karen Codrea: This rescue is absolutely the best. I have adopted 2 dogs from this rescue and recommend others to do the same. They make sure that you and the dog are a good match and have saved the lives of many.
AdeH: This is an absolutely phenomenal rescue full of caring, hardworking volunteers whose number one priority is always the dogs! They take in all cases no matter the cost and work tirelessly to give them their second chance in life. They will match you with an appropriate dog for you and your lifestyle. I got my Rudy from them last February ❤️
Jennifer Bryant: Everyone I have talked to connected with this rescue has been so kind, helpful and caring! I recently volunteered to help foster with them and it has been amazing to see just how caring they all are and how quickly they jump into action to save these sweet souls !!
Melissa Guy: Dachshund Haus & Corgi Rescue is an amazing group of dedicated volunteers who takes great care in finding the right homes for all dogs entrusted to them. My daughter adopted a dachshund several years ago and had a wonderful experience!
Grammy reallysilly: This Rescue was awesome to work with. Our forever dog Brantley had already been to the vet and had a dental check up, shots, identification chip and a health report when we found him on the Dachshund Haus and Corgi Rescue web site.
Chris Myers: Amazing rescue !! They take in many dogs in need of extensive vet care. Volunteers work countless hours to insure they get the perfect home.
Kristen Elliott: I am so grateful I found such an amazing rescue. I signed up with the intention of just fostering. They helped make sure I knew what to expect when the dogs arrived, and provided vet contacts and instructions. They even had the dogs brought right to me. The fostering part couldn’t have been any easier. But giving the dogs up for adoption was a whole different thing. I was an epic foster fail. But now I have 2 amazing dogs that I love to pieces. When I can, I will definitely foster with them again, and probably fail 🐶 Thank you for all you do to help these dogs.
Rachel Martin: Does everything they can to ensure no dachshund (and now also corgi) is never turned away from the rescue. The head of the rescue and the numerous fosters/volunteers dedicate their time and effort without any hesitation. I am forever grateful the rescue saved Sophie from a horrific breeder experience so that I could adopt her and love her forever!!!
Tammy Robertson: I’m a new foster mom for this organization. The amount of selfless service and love for these dogs demonstrated by the volunteers is astounding. The stories of some of these dogs would break your heart and if not for this rescue, so many would be euthanized. I love being a part of a group that loves weenies/corgis so much, that every single one gets to live out their life to the fullest.
Cathy Christensen: We adopted the sweetest senior Dachshund from the rescue. Dachshund Haus saved her from a shelter after being picked up as a stray. The application & interview were easy and everyone we spoke with was helpful. An overall wonderful experience!
Rita Karrip: Best rescue I've ever dealt with. They put animals first always even if it means not adopting them out because uts best to remain a forever foster. They never give up in a dog before trying every single option no matter the expense. They take in so many difficult cases knowing they will spend thousands of dollars to get no guarantee on a long life to be gained from it because a life of love even short lived is what's important. You will not find more passion and compassion than you do with the folks at this rescue.
Cathy Harding: A sharing and caring rescue! Every person I’ve talked to puts the dogs welfare first and foremost. The fosters are so dedicated and the dogs receive the best care. Sometimes these pups have had a rough life and their health isn’t the best…..Dachshund and Corgi Haus Rescue makes sure the rest of their life will be the best it can be!
Julie Cooper: I decided to join this recue and become a foster after I saw what great things they have done. The dogs live their best life after we pick them up. I am so lucky to be apart of this organization.
Mary Marlatt: This rescue is amazing and always doing their best to find fur ever homes. I’ve Adopted 5 from them in the last 5 years.

Humane Society of Macomb: what do users think?
vandana r v: They are amazing! Went there to donate some dog food and they were so kind, and I saw the place was also amazing. Someone parked next to me had just adopted a cute doggo too.
Toni Dempkowski: Gave us a hard time adopting a cat. I needed an Emotional Support Animal and they asked for my paperwork to get one. I have had a service dog and an Emotional Support Cat in the past and there is no such paperwork needed.
Carmen Pascaretti: Good people. Very pleasant adoption process.
Metri Pcs: Awesome people work there!
Christina L.: Dr. Collins is the only vet I’ll take my babies to. She is competent, caring and respectful.
Michelle Savoyard: Very caring clinic. I'm disappointed that they can't take new patients right now, but they have always been great!
Gursharan Kaur: Very helpful, great service and all my answers were answered when I adopted my cat.
Crystal Harding: We absolutely love our girl!! So happy we did this 💓 our family is complete ❤️Stella "Zoey"
Jennifer Shemansky: Dr. Lynn Hartfield has amazing patience and has gone above and beyond when it comes to caring for Maya. She has walked us through Maya's care every step of the way and we couldn't be more grateful. Thank you for what you do!
R V: The vets are very caring of my dog. My dog, is an American Bully and is friendly only with people who have good vibrations. My dog was jumping on the vets lap and wagging her tail.
Patricia Riley: Always a good place for my j dog
Lon McClure: We always donate our gently used pet items that our fur babies haven't used in awhile here. They also have an outdoor drop off for returnable bottles and cans.
Jodie Belisle: Love it super easy awesome worker too... love my doggy
Laine Hall: I can not say enough good things about Dr. Lynn Hartfield and the care and compassion she has shown to my pets. I can NOT imagine having to diagnose and medicate and care and love hundreds of pets on a daily basis. I know how dreadful I feel when one of my pets is unwell and they can NOT tell me what is wrong .. Dr Hartfield has that burden upon her shoulders on EVERY patient she sees .. she has amazing talent and compassion. EVERY person I have either talked to or met at this clinic obviously has get passion for the animals they treat and care for. Two times lately .. I have the fortune to have her assistant ( Bobbi ) administer medication to my pets. As with Dr Hartfield.. you can feel Bobbi’s gentle and caring demeanor and my pets sense that loving care also. If you are seeking out a vet clinic .. I do not think you can do ANY better than Dr Hartfield and the staff here.
jeffrey asquith: Great
Mark & Cindy Charbonneau, Realtor Realty Executives: Very nice staff, so great full for their compassion and professionalism when we had to put out fir baby to sleep!
mommabasshead: Heard great things so I was hoping to get my kitten in! Well? Not happening! All I got was “call back in one week, call back in December, call back at the end of January”No! I’m done!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ll pay for her elsewhere! This place is a joke’
Scott Merkle: Excellent people 👏, they truly care.
Aiasha Pearson: Very friendly, caring and dedicated staff!
Joann Monteleone: Love it
Sandra Schnars: There were no dogs available. Guess that's good they all have hi e for the holidays . Website needs to be updated more often

Tigerlily Cat Rescue: what do users think?
Mike Adair: Are they excepting cats now?
Julie Swanson: My inquiry was answered the next day by the foster mother and Tigerlily reached out to me that same night. We set up a meeting a week after we submitted the inquiry and they were so lovely. They let me and my partner take our time meeting the kitties and really get to know them. I love my two adoptees so much! I also really appreciate the time Tigerlily put into going over the medical history and giving me an in-depth folder of my cats adoption papers. A great experience all around!!
David Evans: Wasn’t answering phones nor taking in rescues at the moment
Ashley Albertson: Does not disclose cats that have had previous serious behavior issues and try to adopt them out after an attack that had to be treated by a doctor.
Ginny St. Charles: No experience
Sarah Pearsall: I was not there. But I hear they are great
Bill Best: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Reliability,Responsiveness,ValueI'm 75, widower, adopted a perfect cat in just 2 days. So fast, efficient, such a beautiful, clean presentation. Thank you
Travis Hoskins: Filled application out never heard back. Called literally everyday multiple times they never answered. They clear thevoice-mail rarely just to never call you back. Went to the adoption event with daughter to get bonded pair of at least find out what all I needed to do, but after waiting 30 minutes I was told they didn't have enough cats for the event and no one showed. I get they are volunteering but why volunteer to do nothing.
Maisy Cece: Don't pay attention to these bad reviews! They definitely seem to be personal issues more than anything else. My boyfriend and I recently adopted two kittens from Tigerlily Cat Rescue and we totally enjoyed our experience with both the foster family and rescue workers. This is a great organization and I would recommend them to anyone looking to adopt a cat. As I said, we adopted kittens, but they have adult, elderly, and special needs cats too all looking for their forever homes. We are so happy Tigerlily Cat Rescue helped us to find our partners in crime!
Cheryl Strukel: Great people!!!! So Loving and Caring!!!!
Ali I: Terrible service, they didn’t respond to any of my calls. I sent my application a couple weeks ago and still no response. Haven’t even responded back to my voicemails.
Uh Me: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Reliability,Responsiveness,Value
Rocky Saxena: The experience was excellent. I submitted an application for the domestic long hair cotton and a week later I received a call from Gene where we set up a meet and greet the very next day at Pet Smart in Troy. The foster lady came and I was able to meet cotton and paid the adoption fee, filled paper work, and I was able to take the beautiful cotton home with me right there and then with my cat carrier. The whole experience was excellent and I highly recommend this place.
Pam Zeman: Not very helpful i have to say.
Martie Schultz: I have a great deal of experience with Tigerlily, as a volunteer as well as an adopter. It's too bad people don't understand how a rescue works (Tigerlily is a rescue organization, not a shelter). They are staffed by volunteers who have jobs and lives outside of the rescue, so are not always able to respond immediately. Not to mention the fact that rescues sometimes get dozens of calls a day – you may think your call is the most important one they have to return, but yours is no more important than any of the others. Tigerlily carefully screens all of their adoption applications to determine what they consider to be the best fit for the cats in their care. Just because you think you’re the best adopter ever, they are the ones with the experience in making the decision. People can be very critical when they don't understand the process and the work that goes into rescuing and finding suitable homes for the animals in their care – maybe they should try volunteering and learn something.
Rachel Williams: Absolutely terrible experience with this shelter. They were the most unprofessional and unresponsive company I have dealt with in years by far. I went in to the Petsmart in Troy and met the foster family of Lillith the cat. We got to play with her and speak to the family that had been fostering her for about 4 weeks. The family told us that we seemed like great candidates and that Lillith does well with other cats. The foster family really seemed to take a personal liking to us and were hoping we were going to fill out the adoption application form.I was considering one other cat at the time, so I did not sign the adoption papers at that moment. However, I did come back and sign them later that day when the foster family had already left. That was on Saturday 12/12/20.I followed the sign's directions to make a follow up call the next day. I left a voicemail on Sunday morning. I did not receive a response from the shelter on Sunday. On Monday, I called and left another voicemail, in addition to contacting Petsmart as well. I wanted to be sure that the cat was still in fact available. The Petsmart assistant manager said that she would make contact with the shelter as well in hopes for a response as she saw that the cat was still in fact available. It wasn't until Monday evening that I heard from the shelter. There was absolutely no apology or remorse whatsoever for the two unanswered voicemails or lack of communication; however, I decided to move past that. The shelter worker asked me various questions about the cat that was already living with me, (another 1 year old cat). We agreed on the best way to introduce the cats, very slowly and over a long period of time. She said I sounded like a great candidate and that everything on the application looked good. She only asked that I send her photos of my current cat's recent vaccines which I did immediately after hanging up the phone. The shelter worker say that she would take a look and call me RIGHT BACK.I waited a long time that evening to hear back from her, as I was so excited and wanted to pick up the kitty that night.I never got a response from her that evening.I texted her on Tuesday morning asking for an update on the adoption process. No response.I then called her several hours later and left another voicemail, hoping for a response on whether or not I could expect to adopt the cat or if I should continue looking elsewhere. However, I would like to mention that she REALLY lead me on to believe the night before, while on the phone, that everything looked ready to go/good match.Still no response. It was not until late Tuesday night that she finally texted me back, (again, zero apologies for not responding sooner, zero apologies for the lack of communication, etc.)All that was said, was "We think that Lilith would do best as an only kitty and will be looking for a home with this in mind. Thank you for your interest."Still, zero apology. I was DISGUSTED. I reiterated that I had spoken to the foster family themselves who agreed that Lillith would do well with other cats, and that they seemed to be very approving of us being the new owners. I expressed that I was shocked that the woman working the shelter (who, was not around Lillith at all- Lillith was in the petstore) had such a vastly different opinion of the cat's best interest than the foster family that the cat lived with for 4 weeks.I also expressed that that information would have been very nice to know the night before when she lead me on to believe that I was going to be the new owner of the cat.Again, zero response. So unprofessional. I was disgusted and reiterated to her that it was really too bad that she would prefer that the animal stay in a shelter than to go to a good home. I also told her again that I was experienced in introducing cats slowly etc.Do NOT use this shelter. The lack of professionality and communication was an absolute disaster.
Rachel: Positive:Responsiveness
Amanda Leitch: Great volunteers and the best cats and kittens around!
Brandy Webster: I really admire this place. My boyfriend and I are very much looking to adopt another kitty, but would unfortunately (despite our feelings about it, and me willing to try other options, he is not) need to declaw a kitten if we were to get a kitten. The lady I talked to said in their policy there's a thing about not declawing any of the kitties, and even though it means we couldn't adopt the kittens we initially wanted, I know for sure they will go to a loving home where they do not need such a trauma induced onto them. Hopefully we can find an adult kitty that we won't have to declaw that we can adopt into our family.
Steven Milam: Bad. No service. I went back to I ❤ dogs and adopted my new fur baby where they actually care and get back to you.
Tina Novak: I adopted my two rescues from there. They take exceptional care of their rescues and they are a NO KILL ORGANIZATION!LOVE THIS PLACE!
