Jack Dooley: Their patio cover is an excellent product, the customer service is second to none. I shopped local and on the internet and this company had the best product, great price, and they were professional in ever sense. The design and manufacture results in a very well made, strong, and durable product. Though a "kit," it does require construction skills and experience and a novice builder should seek an experience builder person to help. There are many variables to how a home is built, and this product is suitable to make things work, but it does require some decent construction knowledge. They offered great support for any questions I had, and I am a semi retired journeyman carpenter. Do not hesitate to give these guys a call.

I had to put the project on hold for a few months and the company honored the quote they provided, and completed the project within a reasonable timeframe. I was told it would be about 8 weeks once I put the deposit down and they were spot on! Job was done in a day, then they came back the next day to fix up a piece of siding that was not expected to need replacement. So thankful it is done and would highly recommend this company to anyone getting a flat pan awning.

Darren was my sales person and was very patient with my indecisiveness as well as uber responsive to my multiple texts and emails. The entire process was smooth and enjoyable but was also interrupted by covid. Yes, my install was delayed but it's completely unreasonable and selfish for anyone to think their install is more important than people's well-being. I patiently waited and it was well worth it. Samantha Latella: We purchased a home that had a preexisting awning, and were given the information for this company to do the install each year. 3 years later and it still continues to be the absolute biggest headache. Every single year we call in early March (this year, March 10th) and we wait months for the install to occur. They have appalling customer service and use the same excuse of scheduling “group install” based on location, yet they don’t seem to have an actual schedule, just lie after lie promising “next week” but unfortunately never show up. For an awning that in Michigan we get May-August to enjoy if we are lucky, it’s incredibly frustrating to go through this hassle year after year, when we can’t enjoy our patio (despite warm weather) because they never show up to do the install in a timely fashion. If you are looking for an awning, look elsewhere!Update here...apologies for the length. Over the past months, my husband has been calling and speaking to the company on the phone - eager and anxious for updates and plans as to when they think they’ll be in our area for install as things are definitely heating up in Michigan. During his weekly call today, he was told that we were removed from the list due to the fact that I put this review out here. It appears that they had already been in our area since his call last Thursday, but due to a review speaking to how delayed their install has been for us, we received no service at all. It was then suggested that if we take the review down, they would put us back on the list and we’d have the install once they were back in my area (whenever that would be). Rather than either 1) replying to this initial review, or 2) reaching out to me directly to address...they opted to just remove us from the list and then try to barter with my husband to have it removed in exchange for their services. As stated above, clearly some concerns with customer service here.Further, when my husband suggested that we might need to find another service provider if the delays continue, which entails getting an appointment to have a new awning quoted, the question came to him as to whether he contacted RO Awning to have them come out and do a new awning quote (??). He asked “why would I be calling and asking you to come out and give me a quote on a new awning, when I already have a solid awning and i am just waiting so long for your install services? The only reason I need to have a new awning quoted is because other companies won’t come out and install the existing awning that i currently have.” The response was “You should just go with another company, thanks”....followed by him being hung up on.So in summary, when they do awning repair work (done for us in Spring 2019), it comes out well. When they install the awning (done for us in 2017, 2018 and 2019), it comes out well. However, you have to be willing to put up with some incredible delays and uncertainty on timing, and when you voice an opinion on their services provided you are met with RO Awning’s version of extortion (e.g. “pull down your review and we’ll install”) and an ultimately disappointing outcome. I would not recommend this company to anyone, and feel that this review here is only the first stop on my many efforts to make sure the area (friends, family, acquaintances, strangers) are aware of how they do business.

Melanie R: Here is my timeline of events and why I would never recommend this company:April 8th: Mark Friedman came out to give me a quote. At the time he was a 1/2 hour early, friendly and efficient. He told me that he would email me the quote the next day, and asked me to respond to it so he knew I received it and to make sure I checked my spam, because sometimes the emails go there.April 9th: No emailApril 13th: Called the office and spoke to Kelly and explained Mark had come out to give me a quote on Monday and I had not received it yet. She said she could not find my quote in the system and she would have to look in to it to see what is happening and would call me back within an hour. This was 9:30am on a Saturday. She never called me backApril 14th: Sunday, I went on my Next door app, trying to see if anyone could recommend an awning company who wants my business and explained this situation.April 15th: I received a phone call from Mark, telling me he didn't appreciate my post because he had a family emergency with his mother and his mother is more important than getting his quotes out. After he continued with his temper tantrum, I explained to him that those are absolutely valid reasons, however no one bothered to contact me to tell me, and Kelly had no idea about this situation since she had no idea when I spoke to her on Saturday. He then told me he had just done my quote and emailed it to me this morning at 8:15am. I checked all my folders, no quote.April 17th: I received a phone call from Kelly in the office asking if I received the quote. I explained this whole situation, along with Marks temper tantrum and that no I had no quote. Kelly got defensive and said "You did speak to mark, he did your quote on April 12th" Again explained to her that he told me he did it on April 15th. So either Mark wrote down a different date so it wouldn't be caught that he took so long, or she is lying to cover up for Mark. I asked her to please leave a message for the owners so I could speak to them about this situation and its very unprofessional.April 23: As of today I have not heard from the owners.So in light of all this nonsense, I would definitely not recommend this business. They seem quite unprofessional and rude. They may have good work? I don't know. But I think what they don't realize is an easy "I'm Sorry that happened" "How can we make this better" goes a long way. They are not in business for customer service that's for sure.*Update* Today April 25th Mark Friedman decided to show up at my house unannounced looking for me to harass me about my review. I was not home at the time, so he told my mother who was there babysitting that I am being childish...lol. This is insane. Stay far far away people. We will be making a police report for harassment!

Although the gentlemen was very nice and knowledgeable, I have yet to receive a quote and will be looking elsewhere. I have even called them twice since and still have no quote. Do yourself a favor and get quotes from other places that actually value your business and don't just waste your valuable time meeting you for nothing.

They were great to work with, held the awnings for us till we finished painting the house, then proceeded to get on their installation schedule, which was less than 48 hours to installation.. Heather Morrow: Supposed to have an Awning installed 3 weeks ago, every time I call I get a lady that answers the phone , she is very crabby and unprofessional, unapologetic, and keeps blaming the installation on the weather, which we have have multiple days where the weather has been fine. the customer service is terrible, and they do not meet deadlines. Don't bother giving them a date that you need your product done, because they will completely disregard it. We are a large corporate company, and will be taking our business elsewhere.

Sonya E.: Update: They got these done in a shorter amount of time than I thought it would be. Our 3 awnings were about 35 days from start to finish. It's a process with 3 visits to completion. Choose your style, color, material, then they do a preliminary measure, order material, then back to their shop to cut metal poles/rods to build/weld framework for patio or window awnings, then arrive with crew to install. Even though I did not get the angle cut on the sides for my window awning as I was told I would get I was assured that I received a more substantially built awning that required the straight cut sides because of a stronger welded frame. We also purchased a large patio and front porch awning that look incredible. They've already been tested by a couple of rain storms with up to 70 mph winds! They did fine.My Earlier Post: The salesperson had a very meager showing of examples of the different colors and materials available when I chose the color for my awnings and I ultimately decided I made the wrong choice after getting a few opinions. If you order from them make them bring substantial swatches of their awning or you will suffer the wrath if you change your mind about the color or material. As a customer who put down half the cost I feel I at the very least reserve the right to change my mind for as long a process as it takes to finally get these awnings installed and especially for as long as my family has been a customer of this company.

j cat: When they're good, they're good. But their problems are mostly with communication and service issues on work already done. Must have switched owners or something for it to be like this. Seems like they're pulverizing that good name. We've been trying to get through just to get an estimate on awnings we need. We haven't gotten any response to our emails or phone calls. Obviously they're still in business if there are reviews from only a few weeks ago. Please Blair call your customers back at least to let them know if you're too busy to give estimates so we can find an alternative which I am doing right now.

L G: No one works harder than these guys. We had a complete disaster of a plumbing project that tore up half our deck/awning frame. They we able to reassemble it and make it work for us for the time being for no extra charge, in 90 degree heat no less. Very happy with the products and service I’ve had for the last 4 years when we inherited the awning the house came with. We won’t go with anyone else when the time comes to rebuild.

Shontel Hamilton: This company was amazing! My awnings were ugly and reminded me of a haunted house with plenty yucky stuff on them. Ironically, this is the same company that installed the awnings about 20 years ago, prior to me owning the property. They followed up and showed up earlier than I anticipated. The installers were nice and even screwed in a loose shutter. It's so hard to find companies who will show up to do the work. Keep up the good work!
