G Fatima: We have crossed the Detroit Windsor Tunnel a couple times and the overall experience has been really good. The officers are vigilant, do their due diligence on asking the right questions and make sure we are made comfortable for our interaction. There is a $6.50 CAD fee to cross the bridge on way and the round trip is $11. The tunnel is well maintained and extremely clean, it does get very very busy on weekends and holidays.

Hatim Jamnagarwala: Use the DTW app with trips loaded when crossing from US to Canada and use your bank card when crossing from Canada to the US for a good toll rate. If you travel often then just get the Nexpress Tag for your car for the best rate.

Brittany Hardy: I am visiting MI for the week and was excited to travel to Canada using the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel. The tolls themselves were easy to navigate. The border patrol agents on both sides though were overly aggressive and unnecessarily rude. Overall, not a great experience and probably won't use it again.

Barry Lee: After being not permitted to leave Ontario for two year lock down we (my wife and I and Sadie our dog) where finally ready to go south again to our home in Arizona. Our retirement plan had been to buy a house in AZ and be snow birds which we had enjoyed for several years. We finally got to visit my wife s family two weeks prior crossing at Gananoque to N.Y. with no problems. My wife is American citizen with landed immigrant status. We have been married for 40 years in Canada. I am a retire police officer. Neither one of us chose to be vaccinated for covid. As we still live in our cottage in Ontario for the summer it is not built for winter living. For the last two years we had no running water, we got buckets of water from a hole cut in the lake which were heated on a wood stove. It took two weeks to ready ourselves to go to AZ, winterizing the cottage, getting out of country insurance all the things necessary to leave. After a 6-7 hrs drive to Ambassador crossing we were refused entry due to my vaccination status. We were misinformed about the us entry rules and have already crossed one. Our understanding was no flights only for unvaccinated only. I know not knowing the rules is on us, although it is hard to get correct information on line. Thing is , the same custom control people that operate on the boarders both north and south should follow the same rules. There are thousands of immigrants illegally crossing the boarder to the south, im sure non or few are vaccinated or even legal in any way. I am 75 years old with cancer and have already lost two of my retirement years to Ontario mandates, now i am turned back for one reason, i am unvaccinated. This may be legal but is not right in any ways. PLS NOTE I wrote this for the wrong crossing, its for the Ambassador bridge crossing. Also, i have been added as a person of interest any time i attempt to cross into the US or anywhere.

Devin D: No option to pay with debit. Travel master cards don't work. Bridge was closed and had no way to get back to Canada. Bridge forces you to pay for a 4 way pass that is $20 at a other booth. I'm sure the tunnel is better on other days but only has nex press or credit cards only. I prefer to use the bridge anyway. Much more pretty.

Ahmad: Bad experience when crossing to Detroit as a US citizen. One of the lanes was marked as (open), upon passing through it, the officer yelled at me saying (back up) so loud. Then he turned off the (open) sign thereafter.Very rude and unprofessional from his side. He should have checked that his lane is marked as (close) instead of yelling at travelers that are passing the border with peace. Truly, he disturbed my entire day with his bad behavior.

Gregory Beznosov: As most other reveiws mentioned, you have a few good officers here but that's where it ends. I am a US Citizen trying to get back into the US from Canada. I had all the proper documents, however the first officer that assisted me made a huge blunder and cancelled all my travel and entry docs. I was then yelled at numerous times and told get the **** out of there and turn back around. I kept on trying to explain I don't have a way to print out new papers and when I asked for just a pen to write stuff down (since you can't use your phone in there) I was questioned for 10 mintues why I require a pen. after 6 hours I got past and approved, upon which the main officer(who is the one that yelled me at me several times) started yelling at me again and stated see what happens when you follow the rules? This main officer was yelling quesitons at me and when I tried answering him he just talked over me. Meanwhile, as I was being insulted and yelled at, a different officer yelled at me why I was still in the building and I should get the heck out of there. At this point everyone in the office was just staring at us. I do understand they're trying just to do their job but there was no reason to be treated the way I was treated. I am a religious jew, maybe that's why?The main issue is, they made the origninal mistake but just kept on yelling at me. at least admit fault and explain properly what I need to do.Just sad to see these people who have no life and get a small power trip yelling at people for no reason. I wish everyone else that passes through here the best of luck!

He asked me a few questions about the petition, what I am bringing, checked a few details and even updated a mistake on my USCIS petition. I paid a small fee for I-90, passport stamped and thats it all done. The whole process took about 20 mins. This officer has made my POE experience a smooth and easier one.

Nexus is a big part of making it possible...so when one of ONLY two (yup, busiest North American border crossing and that's all we have) Nexus Customs lanes is moving cars at 1/4 the pace of the other...well, let's just say it is hard not to ask the question: have you never heard of SLA before? That's right, does Canada Border Services even understand what Service Level Agreement means?

Kara Zorel: Toll machines are always malfunctioning and customer service is horrible. The tunnel has a leak like a water fall, even after a 22 million dollar renovation. Also they do still take cash despite what the sign states.
