Matt S: This is a very peaceful Japanese garden that is accessible from the foot paths on the Cranbrook campus. It’s about a 10-15 minute walk from the parking lot of Cranbrook Gardens. You can also walk there from the Cranbrook Science Museum.
Janet Schneider: It’s the last manicured Japanese Garden I’ve ever seen. It’s as if they don’t understand the concepts beyond the original plantings.

Mike Goethe: A small sanctuary from the surrounding suburbs. Well tended flowerbeds are followed by riotous plantings of native flowers. The goldfinches flit from plant to plant seeking seeds while migrating monarch butterflies gather nectar. Plenty of benches and interspersed with shady spots to rest. Well worth a stop.

Brian D: January 2023 - first stop at the zoo from my 3 daughters. We love this place. We got to see them take butterflies out behind the glass and onto the tree (picture). The woman said they are wet, and could not hear why. However, she said they will dry off and then fly. It was really cool. The next room has some birds. Before you go into the butterfly room, there is usually a globe and other items. I was told sometime this year, the stuff should be back. Maybe some new things.

Marc Andonian: This is a great zoo with a ton to see. The city had really put a lot of time and resources into it and it shows. The staff is knowledgeable and it's a huge place to explore. And fun fact, the penguin exhibit is the largest in the world! Definitely a fun day trip for people of all ages.

Three-quarters of the animals weren't even seen or there Building closed. Went on a beautiful day. No senior citizen discount what a shame. People on a fixed income can only attend the zoo when they hit the lottery.

C Crombie: Cranbrook House is the administrative house for the Cranbrook campus, so most of the interior isn't open to the public. They do hold events there and it's a beautiful old building with lots of character.The gardens are immaculately maintained and cared for. They are an amazing site when in full bloom.

Robyn Hejhal: What a neat getaway where you'd never expect it! Every turn has something special!The full walk around the longest path is about 1/4mi & takes about 10 minutes. Completely handicapped accessible all the way around! (Although there is a bridge that currently has ONE slat that needs to be fixed.)The pictures I took are posted in the order taken.I fully recommend going in the FRONT Entrance to the garden- there is a 2nd Entrance off the Cancer Inst. Parking lot.This walk is chock-full of surprises, sculptures, fountains, a labyrinth, seating areas, a mini library & a beautiful walk with 3+ bridges!If you're in the area, I totally recommend you checking this out!Dog-friendliness: Perfect to take your pup on a paved shaded area!Picnic area: No picnic tables per se, but PLENTY of places to sit, eat enjoy scenery!

This garden is directly across from the Cancer center, so always be mindful that this garden is a healing garden. The flowers and sculptures are soothing. The healing stations are incredible. I'm very glad I found this place. TIP:. Try walking the labyrinth......it's a beautiful inlaid stone maze that can really get the energy moving💜

Last year, I waited too long to buy veggies, and they no longer had some of the things I wanted, so I bought what I could from Ekerts and bought the rest from a big box store. Well, my Ekerts ones completely blew my big box ones out of the water. More harvest, healthier plants, etc. You never know until you try, but I'll never go back to big box. #EkertsForLife

I got sucked into that vortex of seeing a plant that grew in my yard as a child and ended up buying it for nostalgia's sake.Do buy their "Eckert's, Potting Mix"! No more Miracle grow for me, now that I found this mix. My flowers and vegetables are doing great in this mix. I even used it for my repotting my house plants, and they're diggin' the mix too.If you plan on frequenting there, get their punch card, but note, it is only good for the season you start it in. I had a full card I wanted to use from last year, and they wouldn't let me.

Kathy F: Eckert's has been my go to gardening spot for over 12 years . Great staff knowledgeable and stupendous plants to pick from ❤ I wrote that from before. All true except one change the gentleman who was writing up my bill. The girls at the register said he has the final say. I spend over $300.00 at least each season. I found only one of the hanging begonias in the color I needed. It was damaged only one tubular was still alive. I asked if it could be marked down. He replied nope and continued tallying. I was also over charged. I figured that when I got home. I was so upset by his demeanor I really just wanted to get out. There were two older women in front of me that also were treated like an inconvenience. He wouldn't listen to what they were trying to say. I'm giving it one more try tomorrow.
