User 8th: They punish student excessively for unreasonable reasons. They focus more on jokes with friends then bullying and actual problems. The teachers pick favorites and it shows because they punish students for “stupid” things but they won’t punish students for actual problems they have done if they like the student. I loved Saint Lawrence and would never say anything bad about they school till now, they are out of control with punishments. The principal and teachers don’t listen to students and are Beyond disrespectful. They care more about how many people are in the bathroom or thinks normal students do then actual things that hurt people. I have been at Saint Lawrence for 9 years (kindergarten-8th) and I would not send my kids here.

I have found my children have received the same high standard of education and religious teachings year round. I could not be more appreciative of the curriculum, staff, and support staff for their commitment to our kids. From the minute you walk in STL feels like “home” and I will continue to recommend our school community for any prospective families.

Jeanne Barrett: What a wonderful school! The standards are high, the classes are small, and the students and faculty genuinely care for each other. God is at the center of every activity. My graduating senior said “It was the best year of my life”.
Josh Ross J-RO: My wife and I have been involved with Chesterton since before it opened. We both know the founders, Alejandra and David. Wow! What a fantastic school and mission. When learning about the curriculum, I was literally in tears because I was so in awe of what the students are able to learn there. I personally LOVE how they integrate all the classes, include logic, music and the arts, and so much richness. I highly recommend this school for parents who want their children to grow up to be saints.
J-RO School of Music: I am very impressed with the curriculum and quality of education at Chesterton! I highly recommend this school for strong Catholics and Christians who want a classical education.
David Tay: I mentor the boys as they are trained to Enthrone the Sacred Heart of Jesus in homes. All the boys are part of the Chesterton Men of the Sacred Hearts Honor Society, and attend a 45 min class outside of their regular school work once per month.What I was impressed with is that when the expectation bar is set high, these boys will strive to meet your expectations.The traditional Catholic education model stresses drama and taking part in a play. I watched boys (and girls) who had zero confidence in public speaking turn into stage actors with voices that projected clearly.I also observed that 9th, 10th and 11graders bonded together as a tribe or brotherhood. There was no "I'm better than you because I'm in 11th grade" action.This is the only Catholic High School that I know of that 1st hour is Hole Mass where attendance is taken.There is JOY in this school, come experience the difference yourself.
Serpentcrusher7 OLOSS: Chesterton Academy of OLOG is a wonderful, classical high school. One beautiful thing that Chesterton Academy is centered around is our faith. The school takes seriously the faith formation of each student.The teachers are amazing as well because each of them not only have devout faith but incorporate what's true, good and beautiful into the subjects they teach.This is the real deal high school if you want your child to develop a strong formation that trains the mind and the soul. I have no doubt that my children will continue to have a solid grasp on great literature, great formation and great experiences to form them for the future at Chesterton.

Meteor Burger: I witness parents driving fast through the special needs parking area for Mary's children. This is very dangerous as there are slow moving disabled people as well as wheelchair bound trying to board their vehicles. No regard for their safety apparently.

Robert George: The traffic light in front of your church is useless except for maybe on a Sunday. Please time your light so it is a blinking yellow Monday through Saturday, so it does not impede traffic on every day during the week. Thousands of people burn through thousands of gallons of gas sitting at your pointless light. Do us all a favor please!!!

I attended Austin Catholic Preparatory High School and the Augustinian values of Truth, Unity and Love are emphasized just as they were when Augustinians filled the old school in Detroit! We are so happy to be part of the Austin family!
Jodi Wisneski: Very happy with this school. We transferred from a much larger private school and are infinitely happier here. Small school, small classes, family oriented. Warm and welcoming atmosphere. Parents are welcome to have lunch with their kids and attend Mass. While parents are encouraged to visit their children, nevertheless independence is stressed and the staff looks to prepare your child for adulthood. Classes are varied and there are many different options for your child despite being a small school. So glad we made the switch!
Jean Heath: Registration admission process has been flawless! Have heard so many great things about Austin. We’ve already met so many awesome people, can hardly wait to get started this fall!
Nathan Salamon: Their programs are infinite, with room to create your own club. They use iPads to complete assignments and turn them in. I personally have never been able to make friends, but in the first year I knew everybody's name.
David Kocenda: This school is the best kept secret for a pre-ivy league feeder education. It is growing in size and reputation since opening only 2 years ago. The academics are on par with the elite private schools in the area (Cranbrook, Country Day, Sacred Heart, Everest Academy) and for a lot less money. All instructors hold a Master's degree in their field prior to being able to teach here and most are college professors as well.The academics are challenging. The school is beautiful with them assuming the remainder of the existing building and under going more renovations. The equipment is top tier. Uniforms are required and adhered to regularly. You are here to learn or you won't be here long.Simply put this place is amazing!
