Coffee First Cafe & Bake Shoppe: what do users think?
Alyssa B: FAVORITE coffee shop in Michigan. Look forward to this place every time I'm driving up to my parents. The menu is great, the drink specialties are fun and delicious, and the bakery is 10/10 too. Wish there were more cafes like this around.
Melissa Barnett: This place is always amazing. A hidden gem. I was just here today with a friend I haven't seen in ages. We were talking and talking and hadn't realized they had closed. We finally realized how quiet it was. When i asked if they were closed the owner (who is such a sweetheart) just said yep we're closed, but we're just here working anyway so it's no problem. Bless her heart... It's so nice there are still places in the community like this. And seriously their coffee and baked goods are phenomenal which is why I bring everyone here!
Tara Arcusa: Popped in today and my first experience was an excellent one. Coffee was yummy and so was that cinnamon walnut coffee cake. Mmmmm

Kathryn Friedlund: We came for the coffee flight. It was great! A fun experience. Service was great and the decor is cute. It was a little chilly inside and I didn't notice a restroom. Overall I would definitely recommend!
Justin Whitcomb: I’ve been coming here for a while but this morning I placed a last minute request for a large amount of coffee for our church event and they took care of us. Not only that the customer service is always top notch!
Katie Newman: This place changed my life just by existing! Great coffee shop! Great coffee! Great people!

Nitty Gritty Mama: Such a wonderful, cozy local coffee shop. Bet quiet and quaint. They have such a wide assortment of baked goods! I had a latte and my 3-year-old had a bagel with cream cheese. We played a giant tic-tac-toe game and just sat. I will definitely be back to this hidden gem! I especially appreciate the many different sugar-free flavors they have for coffee. Prices are very reasonable too.
Rachelle Dubois: Went here today for the first time and it was amazing! Amazing hot and cold beverages, baked goods and the staff was amazing!

Mark 'Storm' Farnik: I have spent the last five years travelling around America as a Logistics expedite driver, and been to literally hundreds of coffee shops coast to coast... And I must say that Coffee First is simply one of the top tier ones I've been to.Great food, lovely coffee, a cozy atmosphere and prices that are still quite reasonable in spite of inflation?Patronize this place if you get a chance, folks. This absolutely hit the spot on a snowyish October morning... And would hit the spot any time of day, any time of the year. It's absolutely earned its Mary Poppins impeccable review score because, well, this place is practically perfect in every way.
Tricia Muxlow: The lattes are so silky and very fast service, so friendly and helpful! This would certainly be my regular spot if I was a local.Parking: Easy ,close, lots
Monika Ostasz: Cute little place, they had a cool Halloween coffee flight that my boyfriend and I tried out, and it was very unique and a super fun experience!
Kathy Catalfio: My espresso was delicious, and the service was great. We were greeted, immediately, and all were friendly.Kid-friendliness: Unless the kids, themself, were NOT at all supervised by their owners!!! Apparently, screaming is allowed!?
Greg Subastian: Great snack items, friendly / family style environment, extremely popular among the locals boasting great coffee, frappes (chillers), smoothies and more!! A must try...❤️Recommended dishes Egg and Cheese …More

Angel: I got a tuna sandwich and it had zero flavor , straight out of the can. My daughter had the chicken noodle soup and that had a bad taste to it .

Lianna Sam: Eating well is not what goes down at this place despite it's name. We ordered two steak bowls since she said she couldn't make us chicken bowls bc of one ingredient that was out of stock for a long time "bc of covid" which was the beans... um okay so pick up or order beans from somewhere else or make it without beans then. Nope, instead it's totally not offered. Okay fine. I also ordered a smoothie after the cashier confirmed that they were made with fresh fruits and nothing else. She took our payment at the register, and then began to make my smoothie without washing her hands or putting on gloves after touching money. I watched her take a plastic cup to the back and pick ice up with her bare hands and place it into the cup. Then she came back out to the front and filled it with pumps of flavored syrup and blended it up. The only thing about the smoothie was the fresh were the germs from her bare hands that went into it! Needless to say I didn't drink it =[ The food came out and it was clearly a pre-cooked steak that was gray and had cold spots from not being reheated well enough. It came with pre-packaged guac, and pre-packaged corn salsa (should've said corn on the menu) over a bed of quinoa. It tasted like frozen, re-heated cafeteria food. Nothing was fresh except a couple pieces of bell pepper in it. I took two bites out of hunger and couldn't eat anymore bc it sucked so bad. This place could really use a little music to break the dead silence. Like many people, we don't like to say anything or complain, so we took a loss and left and decided to never return. Upon leaving it was clear to us why the parking lot was empty and why the majority of the dining room is closed. A lot of people have good experiences here bc all they order is the coffee. Go somewhere else if you want to "eat well".
Abhilash Bingi: Cozy coffee shop with friendly service and good vegetarian options to munch on. And you get coffee in an actual mug, which is a rarity these days. They have some board games too if you want to chill for a bit.Loved the havarti sandwich and the med wrap was good too; I'll just have to ask for a little more hummus next time. I didn't like the broccoli soup, it was too sour for me.Will definitely be back soon.Vegetarian options: Loved the havarti sandwich and the med wrap was good too; I'll just have to ask for a little more hummus next time. Christine: Salads were wonderful! You can get all sandwiches in a gluten free wrap as well. Gluten free desserts, too! The smoothie I had was sooo delicious. Will definitely be back.
Kathy Bretón: Love the food and the coffee choices ..great, friendly place.
James Alexander: Great food and great service for a good price.
Eric Davis: Got the Pesto Chicken Quinoa bowl and a cup of chicken noodle soup. The Pesto bowl had a really weird taste to it and it was only warm. The chicken noodle soup was cold. Sitting here in bed tonight, my stomach isn’t feeling great. 🙁
Ryan Drew: For a wrap that costs over $8 I would have expected it to at least be bigger than my hand. Or at the very least be properly wrapped in it’s paper; rather than crumpled into it and thrown in the bag. The place was almost completely dead. The woman working did not appear to be well versed in customer service. The layout of the building was very uncomfortable. From the outside to walking in. Once inside I felt confused and a dark unwelcome feeling. I just wanted a gluten free wrap for my son. Next time I’ll go to Beyond up the street for a brighter experience and better quality sandwich.
Brandon Freeman: Turn off online ordering when you are closed. Got charged for food I cannot get. Ffs.Edit: called in today and was able to get my food after all. She was very helpful. Thank you! Changed to 5 stars.
Christina Marshall: Great place to study! Nice food options and very quiet. I’ll be back!
James Tomlinson: Great food and great service
Carina: Cappuccino was perfect! Italian sandwich made on in house cooked bagel was also delicious and the decor in there is very inviting and homey!
Andrew: Love this place, has the best bagels/sandwiches and smoothies are good too. My new go-to. Also Lori is awesome, hope she’s taken care of well because she’s a gem every time I come in!
Carrie H: The sandwiches were very good. Fresh ingredients. Friendly staff. Fair prices.
Kiersten Al-Qizwini: Hidden Gem! I’m surprised this place isn’t crazy busy all the time. I’ve gone 3 times already since I’ve discovered this place and it’s been dead each time. Selfishly, I don’t mind. This place deserves to be busier, though. The food is great and large portions! The chicken is real, not processed, and they have a great variety to choose from. The customer service is top tier. My son didn’t like an item WE ordered, and they replaced it with something else at no charge. I didn’t even ask. Can’t say enough about this place. We will definitely be back and will continue to recommend.
Mark & Cindy Charbonneau, Realtor Realty Executives: Very good gluten free wraps!
Erica Sneath: I came here on a weekday around 1:15PM. When I arrived, no one was at the counter. I saw a woman in the back but it took a few minutes for her to acknowledge me. She was not friendly and muttered something about how she was busy. I waited between 5-10 minutes for her to come out to the counter. She first handed a man some food she apparently had been preparing in the back. She then went back behind the counter but continued to do something I couldn't see before finally deciding to take my order.I understand places can get busy, but I was the only person standing in line. If she was preparing food in the back, she could have let me know and that it would have been a while before she could take my order. While she took my order, she never smiled once and seemed annoyed when I asked a question about which flavors they had.I asked for a 20 ounce flavored latte. It was over $6, which is the same price as the Biggby that's not too far away, but I can use coupons there. The drink had hardly any flavor (which I was charged extra for!) and was very bitter. As I was walking out, I noticed that the drink looked small. I looked on the bottom of the cup and saw that it was a 16oz cup. I was charged for a 20 ounce and received a smaller size for a drink that didn't even taste good. I would have went back in and said something, but I hated the taste and just threw the drink out.If you enjoy lattes that are more on the bitter side and are light on the flavor, you may enjoy this place. Just be prepared to wait if anyone before you orders food and don't expect friendly service.
