We worked with this company last year on a deck restoration, with full intentions and discussions to add on an extension once our above ground pool was installed.Fast forward to this year in which we met with Al C. to discuss the dimensions and finalized the plans for the additional project. All was set and we were to get the deck installed in April. With the unforeseen events of 2020, we patiently waiting until Michigan opened up, only to be told over and over again that we were on the top of the priority list for completion. Al C. never once reached out to us, and showed annoyance with our texts to him. There was a complete lack of any type of communication or interest on Al’s part.After finally being told that the materials were ordered and would be delivered on a Monday, we received a call from Al on Saturday noting that he could not remember any of the details for our project. He asked us, the homeowners, to explain the drawing that he drew in the initial meeting. Then, he asked us to remeasure everything for him. This followed by him telling us he had been on the phone for over thirty minutes and needed to get off the phone. Please remember, he called us and asked us to give him every single detail of the project – that he could not follow or understand.Finally, he told us that he did not even want to do this project but didn’t want to leave us high and dry, which followed by him hanging up on us.The complete lack of professionalism that occurred is something that we have NEVER experienced before. He put on the show to imply that he would complete the work, but in the end our ‘small’ job was not of value to him. Again, remember, that we spent thousands with him last year and actually had neighbors give him work as well.

They were going non-stop in sweltering heat yet remained very polite and professional. For us it was the little things like not throwing garbage all over our yard, not using bad language or inappropriate talk while working, breaks were very short and they just wanted to do a quality job and get it done on time...and they did! So we had them come back during their off-months (winter) and assist in finishing our basement. Sara H: I would highly recommend Autumnwood to anyone needing to build a deck. I spent months trying to find someone to work with me on planning our deck. Everyone either had unreasonably high bids or were unable/unwilling to do a permit. Enter Bayn and his crew. During the bidding process he worked with me to design the decks/porches in ways that met my needs/wants and made sense structurally. He also had insight into the codes and made suggestions that saved us money and hassle. He also was willing to use some new structural hardware that we wanted that he hadn't before.His bid was solidly in the middle-high range, but they were worth every cent. He was clear about his schedule when he bid the work in Nov 2021 and that the weather would determine if we got a deck in 2021 or had to wait until spring. Luckily, the weather held out to the day they needed to dig the footings.His crew then finished up the decks quickly and beautifully, taking our family's egress needs into account. His crew of two and he finished both decks in five (very cold, sometime snowy) working days. While they were on site they were respectful and CLEAN, even vacuuming up the metal shavings generated by the railing install, which was above and beyond and appreciated.We built our weird @ss dome home a couple years ago and it is nice to have decks finally. Autumnwood is definitely a company we would hire again. It is hard to find someone that listens and treats the client like they might have a brain in their head too. Team Clarkin: We hired CRUM through the Home Advisor site in late 2019: our 12 year old cedar deck was in serious need of a strip and refinish, and Doug really stepped up! We got a fair quote that included replacing rotting boards and railing tops...he even matched the railing top custom design with a router and alot of patience. The previous contractor had used a thick coat of paint that Doug had to strip off to re-expose the grain of the wood. He carefully power washed and meticulously sanded all of the surfaces and then applied two coats of PPG stain...he's a stickler for detail, and it shows in the results!
