I’m a DIYer and received excellent help from Mark with tips and all the technical aspects of our hall and stairway project. He really knows his stuff and patiently took time to explain things throughly. We’ll be back for our next project!

Darlene Bentley: Are you looking for lighting & need design advice? Then request any salesperson other than Sylvia. She had no interest in helping me. She was very impatient & was obviously annoyed that I was taking too long to decide. She wanted a sale but didn’t want anything to do with customer service. I needed 5 lights for multiple rooms & was not about to pick the first thing I saw in the showroom. I don’t know if she wasn’t knowledgeable in design or just didn’t want to take the time to help me. I should have asked for another salesperson but I just ended up going to a different store.

Cody Michael: I had a commercial office space redone in Sterling Heights with new roll carpet and vinyl plank flooring. I am a general contractor and have done hundreds of carpet jobs with no issue. Shelby Design Center has done, by far, the worst install I’ve ever seen. The seams are poorly done, the transition strip is uneven, beaten to death, and poorly joined, and they tracked adhesive all over the carpet while they worked. I called the company back out to review the issues and was met by the most dismissive and unconcerned person I’ve ever met in a professional capacity - Mark. He didn’t own up to any of the issues, but sent a crew to “make me happy.” They were also pretty confrontational about having to fix these issues, but they did it to an extent. They got the glue off the carpet and clipped the pulled stands from the carpet. Two months later and we have runs in the carpet all over where they failed to properly seam the carpet. They missed glue spots that I marked clearly with tape and I had to go through and clean those myself. The transition strip still looks a mess, and the vinyl plank is still popping up in places.If you want a shoddy job with no accountability and a smug, dismissive “salesman” named Mark to come and tell you why you are wrong about the “quality” work, look no further than Shelby Design Center. If you want a job done that will last longer than a week, go elsewhere and quickly.

Tracked it down in no time, and made it a seamlessly easy process for us. Everything was - yes, can do! The entire team there was so attentive, kind and professional. I highly recommend them. Especially Christy-such a pro. And a great design eye! Such a wonderful experience.

Noe and his father were so courteous, helpful, and quick in getting our carpet laid. We appreciated being in the loop and notified when the start time had to be pushed back a couple of hours. MARY THISTLETHWAITE: SDC has been great about taking care of problems we had with our Hunter Douglas Duette blinds especially Michelle Bottini. When a repair to our shade was not done well, she got Hunter Douglas to send us a new blind and kept us informed during the entire process. Great customer service.
