Erick Fountain: This is the first review I've ever written.We paid for a new pool heater last September. After opening the pool this year, i noticed the PVC piping going to the new heater was smashed and laying there broken. While I was frustrated by that, I decided to just pay my normal pool guy to repair the damage mainly because I just wanted things to be open and working. Problem was, the heater wouldn't kick on. Kept reading IF, or ignition failure. So I called Wind, Surf and Sail to let them know something wasn't right. I called so many times, almost every time without a return call, that I began apologizing to whoever picked up because I was becoming "that" person.So 4 days after saying they'd be out, supposedly someone came out. They assured me everything was all set. They didn't actually tell me anything, I had to call the next day again to see what was happening because the heater still wasn't working. Kathy said "you're all set". I told her, no, same problem, nothing fixed. Kathy then told me the heater wasn't communicating with my board, but wasn't sure why. I told her I bought the exact same heater and everything was communicating well prior, so why now would there be a communication problem? She said "I have no idea". I said, ok how we do fix this and she assured me she was working on it. No call back, no anything for multiple days. After calling yet again, pretty much ready to lose it on her, Kathy told me that someone quit and was lying about coming to my house and they didn't know that part. (I had called three days in a row with no call back to let them know the problem wasn't fixed). So now we still have no working heater that was paid for 7 months prior and it's taking me countless calls (more than 20) to get anyone to listen.Kathy finally called A and F heating and cooling to come look at the heater because she thinks its a manufacturers issue. No call from them prior to coming out, but Larry came and found that whoever installed the pool heater left the "gas cap" on so the heater wasn't getting fuel. Evidently he took that off, reassembled the intake and it was good to go. I was mind blown.The heater was still in bypass mode and not actually working at this point. I again called Wind, Surf and Sail and spoke with Kathy to tell her it wasn't turning on still. She said she would look into it and send someone. Not surprisingly, that didn't happen either. Thankfully I pulled up a YouTube video and worked myself through the resetting of things and the heater is now working. A day later, I still have never heard from Kathy or Wind, Surf and Sail about finishing their job I paid for 8 months ago.I understand everyone is busy. I understand sometimes things can be complicated. I don't understand incompetence or when a business makes such little effort to do right by their customer. Their employee installed the heater, busted the pipes and left the gas cap on. And it took more than 2 dozen calls, paying someone else $140 to repair the PVC, and me begging someone to come out to diagnose the problem.To say I'll never use this company again isn't stating it strongly enough.
