Angelmika: One star is an understatement on how Mr. Dawson handled my case. I paid the retainer including the fee to electronically file the motion. I collected and sent all my custody and parenting time documents to him. I also sent my CPS report regarding my ex husband. Prior to filing the motion he called and was on the phone for less than 5 minutes asking me questions that I assumed was going to be used in court…NOPE! I didn’t hear from him til 20 minutes prior to our court hearing…he asked me 2 questions pertaining to my ex which again I thought he was going to use in court…NOPE again. After the 2 questions we was off the phone. No discussion about expectations or anything. The decision from the judge went towards my ex. Mr. Dawson was so focused on making my ex pay all of his back child support or a lump some deposit that it made the situation worse with the judge. I did not file due to child support but regarding the safety of my children due to his reckless and neglectful behavior. Also too my case is in Michigan but I moved to Indiana so I guess he felt that he had to put little effort since I’m out of state. I had another court date coming up and he sent a letter that if I wanted to use him again I had to come up with another $500. For what??? He didn’t do $1500 worth of work the first case so why another $500?? I asked for an itemized invoice of services rendered and was completely ignored. I would not recommend anyone using him.

He doesn't care about the client and is only in it for the money. On top of that the firm had the nerve to charge me even more when all was said and done. This office is not honest and I would never recommend using this firm for anything.

I had a friend pay the retainer, and mr. Dawson was well aware of my situation and acted as if he would work with me financially and get me and my girls "what we deserve". Even though he personally knew my father, and my step mother worked for him at the time she passed away from cancer, he still was an absolute disappointment. He not only asked for money every time he knew I received child support, stimulus check or my taxes, but over charged for motions/investigations that I never asked for. He failed to mention that my ex husband asked that us 3 sit down to discuss outside of courts, all while I thought he wanted nothing to do with me or our infant daughter. He cares nothing about family, he will schedule motions to charge u more, and is attempting to put a lien on my bank acct even though I've paid him ALL income i've received the past 6 months. He does not communicate anything of upcoming hearings, does not call or recieve calls prior to or after important hearings, so any questions you have will always stay unanswered. The more you stress about what is important for you and your family, the less he cares to bring it up. But be damn sure he will file another motion about it, because that is another $1k in his pocket.He is a joke of an attorney, and I am embarrassed to have someone like him represent me in such an important case for me and my family. Do NOT make the same mistake I did.. DO NOT HIRE HIM.
