Wednesday Bally: There are never any carts in the store. Employee says the reason is because "shoppers are lazy and don't return them." Like it's not their job to retrieve the carts for handicap people such as myself (recently broke ankle). I had to make two trips out to my car while carrying 12 packs and other bags due to their being no carts EVER.

Ylli Lazri: Had a horrible Experience there. We went and bought a gift card there and when we tried to activate all of the money was siphoned off right then and there. I returned to the store where the card was purchased at the Sterling Heights and Van Dyke location to try and get some help on where to go to get the money back, and all i needed was for someone to point me in the right direction. Sandra the store manager happened to be there and she absolutely refused to help me and kept reiterating that it "wasn’t dollar generals fault and she can't help me". It turns out that I wasn’t the only one to have this happen to as Sandra (the manager of the store) admitted that other customers had this happen to them and she told them the exact same thing. Prior to going to the store that day, I had called the number located in the back of the gift card and customer service confirmed that the money that was in the card was gone. i went to the store where the gift card was purchased to simply ask if there was any other contact information they could give me in order for me to start a process and file the necessary claims for the fraudulent charge in my card.That was all I wanted to get form the store representative that day.Sandra was extremely rude, smirky, unwilling to listen and offer any sort of solutions. Instead of listening to my story, apologizing for the inconvenience, and give me a phone number or email to contact, she started yelling, making face gestures, laughing at the situation, and was acting very unprofessional. I have never had problems with the law and am a very peaceful person, however Sandra proceeded to contact the police and she was very dishonest when the law enforcement officers arrived. She tried to twist the whole situation into her benefit, and is a LIAR. My experience was so horrendous that if it was possible I would give this place minus 5 stars if i could. This was by far the worst customer service experience of my entire life, and the manager Sandra is the one that represents everything wrong with customer service at Dollar General. She should be properly trained on what customer service should be, how to deal with customer escalations, and problem solving. As of today, I am still missing my $500 that I had on my gift card.

Glenda Camp: Will no longer be shopping at this store. Two days in a row error I went to the store at 5 30 to find the sign posted on the door stating they closed at 5. The website indicates they are open till 10 PM. I tried throughout the day calling to verify the hours and all I got was a busy signal. It was a fast busy like the phone was off the hook. I realize many retailers are having staffing issues these days but at least answer your phone or update the hours on your website. It's a shame this is a nice store and very convenient for me but I will not continue to go up there just to find out they're not open.

Austin Rogers: What a total disgrace of customer service at this DG location.Came here because of an ad showing Lowe's gift cards 15% of Nov 24-26. I walk in store on the 25th (today), grab the cards and ask into confirm the 15% off. The cashier (and I believe what was the manager) next to her, tell me it was Thanksgiving day only. I thought to myself okay fine (but was pretty sure I read the ad differently). I went to my car and pulled up the ad, and what do you know it says 24-26th clearly. So I went back in and asked nicely if we could try to ring one up as the ad showed 24-26. The cashier didn't even look at my phone and just said "we can try" and seemed very agitated. She rang it up, no 15% discount. Okay fine, so I said alright thanks for trying I won't buy it. She didn't respond and just slammed a button on her keyboard, probably to cancel the transaction.Why exactly are you agitated a customer is coming in for a specific deal that DG advertised incorrectly? What a total disgrace. Go work in a warehouse if you don't want to talk to customers normally.I'm not mad about the deal not working, I'm annoyed that the cashier acted like it was a hassle to even try the deal - and that she completely dismissed that it was marked incorrectly on the ad. Kevin Cowell: I use to love this store until Nov. 12, 2020 when I came in to exchange a pair of bluetooth headphones for the second time because like the previous pair they stopped charging. When I told the manager what was going on he chastised me for returning it. In front of four other customers he blamed me for returning it, not the faulty product. When I asked if that's how he treats all customers that want to make a return he said I was banned from the store. I worked at Dollar General in Auburn Hills for a time and have never seen such unprofessional. I usually don't vent my frustrations in reviews but I feel no one should be disrespected as I was that day. This store lost a faithful customer because of an unhappy little man who sets out to make people feel as bad as he does inside. But beside this the store is a 10 out of 10.

I get that it's annoying when the self checkout clearly says "cash payments unavailable" and people try to pay with cash anyway. The store manager quickly got RUDE and IMPATIENT with me, even after I apologized to him for the inconvenience a handful of times. They're horrible at costumer service. I come in there, and get the same thing almost every other day, and the short haired lady always is rude when she gets what I asked for behind the counter wrong, and tries to argue with me instead of assisting me with what I asked for, Meaning shes telling the costumer what they want. Today at 10:00am I asked the short haired woman not to put my cigars in my bag after ringing me up and she mumbled something disrespectful under her breath and wanted to call her manager to escort me out because they claimed I was the one who started being rude, but again instead of worrying about the customer whom is a regular costumer they decided to be racist and disrespectful. The incident happened exactly like you'd see on youtube where a white woman would say or do something racist and or disrespectful to a black person and when the black person gives them the reaction they want they wanna threaten to call the police. I was excited to hear her say that, Because they had no reason to call the police I hadnt said I was going to hurt anyone I just made it clear I wasnt to be played with in any way shape or form, will not be disrespected and when I come in the store as a costumer I come in there for what I'm there for, i expect the same service as everyone else and I go about my business And will continue to do so.

Blackheart Lives: This is a smaller older looking and feeling building. It seems small and dated. I've lived around here a LONG time and I know how old the building is. That being said, it's a nice business for the location, and they have the right things at this store. They are using their space effectively. The staff are nice and that is always a plus.

Always well stocked and employees are usually friendly especially the young lady at the checkout that wears the wide head bands don't know your name sorry.
