B.: I paid $250 for a consultation in which my legitimate claims of discrimination and retaliation against my employer of 20 years were questioned and belittled as if I were on trial at the law office. I was then advised to settle with my employer for an amount of less than one year of my annual salary because, according to the attorney, my employer is making the case to fire me. Well, of course, that’s why I need a lawyer to counter my employer’s illegal discriminatory and retaliatory conduct. Just because the employer is making a case doesn’t make it legitimate and incontestable—the employer has fabricated charges and retaliated against me for my civil rights complaints.It is very hard to find passionate and ethical legal representation in employment discrimination cases in Michigan. Unfortunately, this experience added to my psychological distress and I paid $250 for it. I was under a severely mistaken impression that this firm is passionate about employee rights. I was very wrong to assume that. In fact they are apparently buddies with my employer’s general counsel. Lawyer berated and tried to shame me about my salary, as if I haven't earned it through my advanced studies (multiple higher education degrees).I would not recommend this firm to anyone I remotely care about who is seeking justice against an abusive and unethical employer. Very traumatic experience which added to the trauma of employer’s abuse.(Note: I'm an ivy-league trained lawyer myself. So I know what good law practice SHOULD look like. This 'aint it.)
