I had no idea that underneath all of that ugliness I had beautiful red oak floors. My husband and I could not be here when they were working and we still felt comfortable leaving them alone in the house. They were prompt and did great work. We had one minor glitch as my expensive stove was pulled out and when it was put back in, they cracked the glass cooktop but Bruce took care of the cost. I would definitely recommend their services. Maria Kurple: Terrible experience! I was told one price over the phone and told the job would take one week. They came to see the floors a couple times before starting and the price and time did not change. Day one of the job and the price nearly doubled, a deposit for over half the job was demanded without warning, and the time went from one week to three. Our floors needed a lot of work so the timing didn’t bother me as much as the huge price increase. They did not show up at least once or twice each week and did not communicate this at all or reply when we asked if they were coming. One of them got in a fight with our painter so painting had to stop while they were there (two story home so painter was on a different level and out of their way). A piece of wood was cut out of the floor to see why some buckling was happening and they never put it back. They said a third coat of poly would help longevity, but since they had already been there for four (so even more than the three they increased it to) weeks and it had cost so much more than budgeted, we only did a third coat on stairs and in the kitchen. Our floors are gritty and rough everywhere and research now shows they probably needed several more coats of polyurethane. The kitchen and stairs aren’t as bad as the rest of the house, so it’s clear more coats could solve this. This was not communicated at all. We’ll likely need to hire somebody else to finish the job or try and do it ourselves. Steer clear of this company!UPDATE: Since I can’t reply to the owner here and he has not answered or returned my call, I’m editing my post. First, I never asked for a more expensive finish. The first day he sanded a spot on the floor, put something down, I said I liked it, and he handed me a bill. I asked what happened to the $3.50 sq/ft which would’ve been a bit under $9K and he did not say it was because of a more expensive finish. He said at $3.50 sq/ft he might as well pay me to do the work. A job that we budgeted $9K for turned into $16,550. Considering the cost of materials for what he did use, that’s an insane markup if that’s truly the case that we got a more expensive finish. Which again, we did NOT ask for. Secondly, like I said before, we were told additional coats would increase longevity. He said it was NOT needed in bedrooms, just high traffic areas. Given then cost of this and the project as a whole we figured we could handle needing to refinish again sooner. He NEVER said we’d need more coats so the floor didn’t feel like sandpaper. Quite the opposite. He said he was taking so long on the job so that this would not happen as our floors were so old and very dirty from 100 years of carpet on them. I’m not exaggerating on the sandpaper feel. The floor is ruining the feet of my toddlers pajamas. Had I known this, I would’ve gladly paid more for probably 4 coats even with them fighting with other contractors, asking to shower at our house, communication issues, and everything else.

Leam: We went through this business to get our floors done. All we wanted was to get a polyurethane coating on our floors to help strengthen them. They did not do our floors right we keep on seeing all of these scratch like spots on our floors which actually is the polyurethane peeling up from the floors. This should not happen if it is applied correctly, which in our case it was not. I have attached a photo of one of several marks all throughout our house and a definition of what the polyurethane is supposed to do which clearly ours is not right. Now we’re going through a different company who actually knows what they are doing and even said that this was totally wrong. Very disappointed with our service. Now we need our floors sanded and redone which will cost us much more money. Thanks a lot!!

Cameron Hanover: I should have looked these people up before I booked them. They were supposed to show up between 9 and 9:30 on friday. At 9:40 I called them and was told they were finishing another job and they'd get to me next. I gave up waiting for them around 3 or 4 o'clock. I left a voicemail asking if they were going to show up the next day. After 10 at night I get a text message from some guy named Eric saying "sorry, you got overlooked." Two more voicemails and no one will call me back. I found someone else to do the floors next week, and let Eric know, and he just got insulting. Completely unprofessional.They F'd up, would not own up to it; never offered to make it right; even when they planned to show up they never let me know.

Owen Wood: tl;dr: They probably won't ever even show up and their communication skills are like that of a toddler, much less a professional company.Called fabulous floors to have my hardwood floors refinished. They initially gave me a quote over the phone and scheduled a day approximately 2 months out for them to come do the floors. I never heard from them again. The day they were supposed to be coming out, I had to call several times to see if they would be showing up. They didn't. Then I got delay after delay, promised discount after promised discount, and excuse after excuse about why they couldn't come out yet. They also changed the quote and increased the price the week they were supposed to come out because they never saw the layout and wood floors in person. Eventually, both Jeremy, the person who was scheduled to come, and the number listed on the company's website stopped returning any communication at all. Go with somebody who is more professional and will actually come do work.

Paige Nicklow: I had my floors refinished & within a few weeks I have scratches all over my floor. I do have a dog & there’s No way he made all these scratches. I called Matt he said to send pics I did never heard anything. I called a week later he said he never received them I resent them again. Today 1 week later I still haven’t heard a word. I called him today to have someone come out & look at my floors. I hope I can get some help! I don’t think the polyurethane wasn’t put on thick enough. I can’t wear my heels in the kitchen because of scratches!

Alan Domzalski: I gave these guys an impossible task and they delivered. I closed on my house on 12/20, got them in on 12/21, they sanded, stained and refinished 1500 sq ft by working around the clock for 4 days (finished at 5:00 on Xmas eve) and I was able to move in on 12/26. It was way too tight a timeline, I’d never schedule it that tight again but Cornel and his crew got it done! Floors look great, Cornel made a few recommendations after showing up to do the work and I’m glad I listened. Oh btw, they were the best price I found by a wide margin. They have my recommendation (but I’d give them more time to spare the anxiety).

John Cleary: Fabulous Floors refinished entire first floor of home in Redford Township on 12/30/19 to 1/1/20. Floors have not been done since they were installed in the early 1950's. They did an amazing job of not only refinishing the floors, but the closets, as well. Re-finisher Cornel and his son took great care and pride in doing some great work, even worked on New Year's Day to apply second coat! Could not be happier and would recommend Fabulous Floors to anyone needing their floors refinished.
