Mangiabevi Urban Italian: what do users think?
Nicole Vaxelaire: Fabulous experience. From the food, the wine, the dessert and an amazing bartender. Cheer
Jessie Harkins: Simply put, this was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had! The atmosphere is so charming and fun, and even though you're in an upscale restaurant , it has all the feels of being at home. Our server Diane could not have been any better. She was so sweet and attentive. We felt like we wanted to invite her out with us for a girls night out sometime! The food was to die for! You can taste the love that went into this cooking! And the chef/owner Mauro came out to meet us, and we heard some of the stories he had growing up in Italy. He explained that his lasagna, he makes once a year, the week of Mothers Day (which is why my sister's and Mom and I were there) which was his mothers recipe. We got a tour of the restaurant and even got to see the bee houses he keeps in the back. He was such a wonderful man. We all felt that we've known him forever! If you've not been to this establishment yet, please don't wait. You will be so happy you went.
Julie Cooper: Great food and service. I can't wait to go back.
Trevor Diehl: Absolutely amazing! Nothing short of incredible. Our waitress Kristen was phenomenal, and the food was out of this world!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Charcuterie Board …More
Connie Leannais: Attended an event in one of the private rooms. Really enjoyed ourselves. Food was delicious. The staff was wonderful and the obvious just made it perfect. I like the smaller tables of six people which gave us time to move around as well as sit and visit with other people at the party.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Rainman Cycleg: The best Italian food I’ve ever eaten. The prosciutto is amazing as well as the fresh bread. We ordered the steak Diane with spinach ravioli and everything was perfect. Chef Mauro has gone above and beyond to make everything perfect. Bravo!
G Money: 1st time dining there. Cozy quiet atmosphere. The food is excellent as is the service. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about ALL of the dishes. A great wine selection to complement the variety of dishes. I will return.Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Lamb Chops, Insalata Mista, Lamb Shank, Salmon Dinner ...More
Ashley Ciamillo: Alright, I don't often leave reviews but I had an expectation coming here and spent $380 for 4 people. We had numerous issues so here is the highlight:#1: Party of 4 (3 adults and 1 child). My 9 year old daughter asked for butter with the bread - we were confidently told they do NOT have butter. I asked if he could "double check" as bitter is a common kitchen ingredient. Answer still "nope".Just a few minutes pater they offered my dayghter "buttered noodles" as a kids meal option. We are Italian, we know that butter is not typical for bread, but even in Italy they will (reluctantly) give you butter when you ask.#2: Hard pieces in our appetizer. We ordered the sausage and peppers which was good, however there were 2 pieces of hard shell which I bit into, hurting my tooth. It looked like a broken piece of muscle shell of which there were no muscles in our appetizer. Not sure how it got in there...#3: Under-poured Vino! This is practically a crime for Italians. We payed a reasonable price of $12/glass but were each under-poured (all 3 glasses) by rhe waiter who brought the bottles to the table and attempted to eye each pour. We also got 1 refill each, in hopes it would be better or perhaps measured - but it was neither. We then decided to buy a bottle after we all discussed feeling under-poured. The waiter poured 3 glasses from our bottle which was less than 50% empty, validating that we were not crazy; we were definitely under-poured. By the way, we eat out multiple times per week. We drink a lot of wine and can eyeball a 5 oz vs. 6 oz. or 9 oz. pour very easily. If your waiters arent experts, give then a MEASURED POURER!!#4: The actual dinner was DELICIOUS. For the nearly $400 price tag and considering the above issues, we probably won't return but maybe one more time to see if it was just bad staff.
Jennifer W: Went to Mangiabevi for the first time after hearing rave reviews. 5 stars for food - We tried an appetizer and two of the entrees. Everything was delicious and beautifully plated (although I will say I found the pile of shredded carrots on my plate to be weird). Our server was attentive, and the prices were on par with Italian dining. The only thing left to be desired was bar service. Our table wasn’t ready at our reservation time so we were directed to the bar to get a drink and wait. However, when we went to go get a drink, we were very rudely told by the bartender that the only two seats open were reserved (even though no one had arrived to take those seats the entire time we were waiting for our table). He did tell us we could order a drink to take back to the lobby. We asked for a drink menu but he walked away and never made eye contact with us again. We were floored. The bar is quite small so it’s not like we got lost in the crowd. At that point we decided we didn’t want to tip him and waited to order drinks at our table. So, 0 stars for bar service.
Kellie Oxie: Beat calamari I’ve ever had!! Great for going out with your friends or for a date night:)
Michelle Kozyra: Delicious food and spectacular service
Jessica McMannus: You cannot dine here unless you have a reservation. My husband and I were in the area (from out of town) and wanted to stop in and have dinner. We were turned down at the door and told we needed a reservation. We explained to the host that we were from out of town and wanted to try the place out. We were happy to wait if needed. The host told us we still needed a reservation. Never suggested any accommodation or mentioned that the restaurant was full that evening which seemed very rude.
V Bachi: April 17, 2023 we had a reservation for 5:45 for my son’s birthday dinner. This was our very first time going to this restaurant. Let me start off by saying Dianne our waitress was phenomenal. Secondly, the owner, very friendly and very inviting and last, but not least Chef Mauro where do I start off the food that he made was out of this world and he personally came out and thanked us for coming in and asked us how our food was. Such a humble and kind man. Just to throw an extra out there He is a celebrity chef, and was aired on Food Network grudge match. if you are looking for authentic Italian food, please do not pass this place up you will not forget about it.

Tom Fallone: Hands down the best Italian food in the area by a mile..prices are above what other Italian restaurants are, but it's well worth it. The food is rich and incredible, always cooked perfectly. The owners and wait staff are always super friendly and accommodating. We've gone twice recently and can't wait to come back ASAP
Angela B.: This was our 2nd. time to MB and it's been great both times, good food and atmosphere. Very friendly staff.....Thanks Stefano, for the BD dessert. Will see you soon!

The Statler French American Bistro: what do users think?
이예리: Steak frites란 메뉴는 스테이크가완전 오버쿡이었습니다. 주문할때 굽기정도를 물어보지 않았는데, 미리 말씀하셔야할것 같아요.Twin lobster tails는 맛있었습니다!
Jasmine Palmer: Food was not tasty. It was mother's day and I was disappointed. I tried to enjoy but it was not good.
Marissa Resendez: We had a wonderful team dinner at The Statler. We tried a little of everything, the oysters, cheese plate, artichokes, beef tartare, scallops, steak, halibut, burger, mac and cheese. The jalapeño margarita was very good! A must try for sure. Everything was delicious and the service is stellar. I look forward to coming back next time I’m in town!
Tamara Robinson: The service was good. The food was not. They didn’t season anything. I ordered the short rib that came with mashed potatoes. I also ordered Mac & cheese. The short rib had no flavor & the Mack & cheese had a runny sauce with breadcrumbs on top. Yuk. All for $97.00
Stefano Teofili: Prezzi troppo alti per la qualità del servizio
Alyson Bryson: We were excited to try this restaurant and enjoy a nice dinner before our 7 pm Sunday evening show at the Fox. We had a reservation at 515 and were seated right away. Unfortunately the experience was quite disappointing from there. My husband and I each ordered a drink and received it about 30 minutes later. I ordered soup and the short ribs. The soup came 50 minutes after placing the order, and the entree arrived at 650, an entire hour and 10 minutes after ordering. This gave us about 3 minutes to scarf our meals before running (literally) to our show. We did express our frustration to our waiter, who did everything in his power to help facilitate things. He was clearly stressed and overburdened with customers, and I'm only assuming the kitchen was just as short staffed. Food was good but we were too rushed to enjoy it, which was unfortunate for such a pricey meal.
Susan Richard: Food was excellent! Our server Katrina was excellent and even got us an Uber back to our hotel using her own uber app! She took great care and gave great recommendations on the menu!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Valet or paid parking are a must, and enjoy a fine meal before a game or event in the D.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Braised Short Ribs, Potted Foie Gras Mousse …More
Ron Reed: The Statler is a good place to dress up and host friends for a night out. The location is great if you want to go to a game, concert or the theater after dinner. It's also a place I stop in with friends after a Pistons game. The menu has excellent variety and the food is very solid. I've never had a bad meek here and the bar is stocked with high end choices.
Austin Schneider: Ordered a French burger, medium rare - comes with truffle fries. Server comes out 20 minutes later with an American burger (completely different toppings and fries) so I ask for the correct burger. 25 more minutes pass and I get served the French burger well done with minimal toppings (just a tiny dollop of sauce) steak fries - which are served with the American burger.Burger and fries is such a simple meal and Statler really messed this one up.First time here and I will happily let people know that they should dine elsewhere.
Bear Brewer: Great food and great staff. We will definitely be keeping this in our rotation. Valet parking is a huge plus.
Ryan Pettey: Today was our second time. The Ragut is incredible, as is the key lime pie, and the service is top notch.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Lobster Bisque Soup Dietary restrictions accommodated Not sure Parking space Plenty of parking Parking options Free parking lot, Paid parking lot, Paid street parking, Valet, Paid parking garage …More

JoJo Williams: Saw this place on Fox 2 News a couple of times. Recommended by Nosh with Josh…Pricing reflects service NOT food.I had the rib it was very tender thumbs up.However everything else was….My friend ordered Mac n cheese with lobster the sauce is liquid few shavings of lobster with bread crumbs…NO thanksI got a cheese platter 🙄$110.00 later my friend bill $97.00 we decided we will NOT return.Bob Evans pot roast is tender as well and about half the price of the rib here
LiLi Sheree: I was the first person to walk through the door when they opened and was greeted with a smile. I decided to sit at the bar and the bartender told me he liked making mocktails so that was a good start. He made me a huge mock Aperol spritz and it was delightful. Then I opted for the oyster rockerfeller as a starter. The oysters were huge, flavorful, and cooked well. My main dish consisted of the short rib and the brussel sprouts. I did not know the brussels were shaved but I prefer them that way. The flavor was well-balanced- some restaurants overdo it with the balsamic but it was on the lighter side so I could taste the butter flavor, as well. The short rib was seasoned to perfection but it was either cooked earlier and reheated or just not cooked to the tenderness I’d prefer. It was not chewy but there was resistance when I tried to take it apart with a fork. A perfectly tender short rib shouldn’t need the assistance of a knife but nevertheless the flavor was outstanding. My only gripe is I wish there were more mashed potatoes to accompany the short rib. Overall I was pleased and would like to go back for happy hour.
Joe Lanni: (Jan 2022) The food was good and our waiter was great, however considering the amazing food and restaurant scene in Detroit, the Statler was overall lacking. There seemed to be no significant creativity on the menu, and the ambiance seemed oddly dated (even though the space is brand new). The place was packed, but without a more notable menu (both food and drinks), I’m not sure how long that will last. And I know they are still probably working out the kinks, but I can’t not mention a few disappointments: we had a reservation for four people at 8:00 PM, but weren’t seated until 8:45; there were no hand towels (nor hand dryers) in both the men and women’s restrooms; our table wasn’t set when we were seated; and there was a hair in my water. With so many other outstanding dining options in Detroit, I will not be returning to the Statler.UPDATE Feb 2023: We visited the Statler one year later to give it another go. The experience was unbelievably similar to the last, so at least they're consistent. Food was good, but lacking in creativity. Waiter was amazing. No hand towels (nor hand dryers) in the bathroom. Literally the same review from one year ago.
Stephanie Buhagiar: Appetizers and drinks were top notch. My entree was OK (short ribs), I believe it could have been more flavorful. Other guests in our group had the scallops and said they were phenomenal.Lobster Mac&Cheese was amazing, but the pomme puree was sort of dry.The service was slow, but it was a busy Saturday night.I would visit again, and probably try the scallops 😊
Christa Linderer: It's a nice atmosphere in the Statler. Some dishes were good, others didn't hit the mark. The sauce with the mussels was overpowering The bouillabaisse was a seafood dish but not a bouillabaisse. The steak tartare was too wet with vinegar. Wine selection was very good. Oysters outstanding. Creme brulee was very good.

Jerald Putnam: Me and two friends went to get lunch, we had the dismay of being served by josh. They each got carbonara, and I opted for the unlimited soup salad and breadsticks. After 10 minutes we all got soup, after another 15 min he returned with my friends food, and ignored my empty plate and walked off without even addressing me at all. We had to call him over to refill my soup after another 15 minutes of being ignored. By this point me and both my friends were pretty upset with the service. If I dine here again and Josh is serving me, ill just walk out.
