When I went to my appointment, my time was 12:50 pm, and they got me in at 1:30 thats ok for that, but if I call to reschedule, they will charge me $20.

Gonte demonstrate his behavior when I was in the lobby 35 minutes ago, I can say that it was more than unprofessional. To ridicule someone for having a medical issue in the lobby by commenting something along the lines of, “in all my 33 years this has never happened..” is not only rude but also very disrespectful. He then proceeded to comment about how the person in the lobby could have taken their medical issue somewhere else, but as I watched this unfold, the young lady in the lobby that was having this medical issue was incapable of doing this. I am appalled at how badly Dr. Sheldon handled this situation without taking into consideration how the person who was having the medical issue felt in this situation. I could tell that the person was very uncomfortable and for Dr Sheldon to passive aggressively ridicule them for having this medical issue in the lobby, was very unprofessional. Dr Sheldon did however reassure the person that he understood what she was going through, but he was in no position to understand the embarrassment that he put this young lady in. I hope that Dr Sheldon can take the time out of his day to have some compassion for people that have medical issues like this and also rethink the way he handles these types of situations.

Chanel Drake: If there were negative stars available I would give them five. Five NEGATIVE stars. I highly discourage anyone from seeing Dr Shartenberg. Sometimes you just need to accept that it's time to retire. I noticed on my POST-OP visit she had turned her back on me and was shaking as she was to trying to write something down. I wish I would have noticed that before my surgery. It scares me to see that a doctor who's hands are shaking, is using a scalpel near my eyes. When I mentioned it to another doctor he said, well he shakes too. Oh just great! We got two doctors in there who operate on people's eyes whose hands are shaky. That might not be something you want to admit to your patients when you are about to operate on their eyes. These doctors are working on our eyeballs with scalpels and they admit that they are shaky. Now because of that my one eye is lower than the other, I have incision marks that go past the corner of my eye, and it left a pocket in both corners of my eyes. Now I'm going to have to find another doctor who can fix it. Stay away from this place if you want to keep your eyes.

Sarah Shaw: I went to Fraser Eye Care for Lasik eye surgery. The center was recommended by my optometrist and I could not be happier with the results and the entire process. I am 34 years old and I have wore contacts for about 20 years. My vision correction was at -3.0 and I now see with 20/20 vision without any corrective lenses. It is absolutely amazing to not have to worry about contacts or glasses anymore.Beyond being happy with the results, I had a wonderful experience with the Fraser team. At my first consultation appointment, the Lasik coordinator, Kari, sat down with me one-on-one and explained the whole process from start to finish. I went through an extensive set of tests which made me feel good. This showed me that they wanted to really make sure I was a good candidate for the procedure. After all the tests, I sat down again with Kari and Dr. Basha (my surgeon). They both answered any questions I had and he explained the procedure again from his point of view.The procedure itself was very quick and I literally sat up from the operating table able to see better than I've seen in 20 years without any corrective lenses. It was and still is incredible to me. The healing process was easy and all I had to do was keep up on eye drops for a month or so. Since this was a referral from my optometrist, I am able to do all but one of my follow up appointments at my home doctor since Fraser is a bit of a drive for me. This is a nice convenience as well.The thing that I was most impressed with was the care of the team. Every person I was in contact with made me feel comfortable, safe, and like they truly cared about me as a patient and person. I can't thank Kari enough! I had, what I suspected, was a corneal abrasion due to my son poking me in my eye. Fraser Eye Care Center was able to get me in the same day I called. Dr. Bonafede (sorry if I misspelled that) and his team are extremely knowledgeable and have been so kind. Dave Dokman: Seen flashing in my field of view and discomfort in my rt eye- called my old Opthamologists (4 in office). Asked is this a serious concern and do I need to go to emergency or do they need to look at it. They said they would look at it and will call back after talking to the doctors. They didn’t call so I did 3 hrs later. All the doctors wanted to leave early for the holiday weekend so they said call somebody else or go to emergency. I called around and Rolain was the only office willing to see me- said he’d stay late to see me because it sounded serious. 5 pm on a Friday he diagnosed a rental tear and said I need surgery. Took me down to royal oak Beaumont at 8pm opened up the totally closed facility by himself and took care of it. That is so far above and beyond what most doctors would do for a patient, much less for an off the street new walk in patient. All I can say is he’s earned my loyalty for life. Knowledgeable doctor with a stellar local reputation. Not only that but all the office staff are the most helpful and polite people I’ve run across with no exceptions. His appointments run on time, everyone is efficient and helpful- always a pleasant experience. Hard to find better than University Eye Care.

I had become frustrated with a decline in my vision.Expertise: I found that Dr Everett does a comprehensive assessment (3 hours worth) of your eye health. They do several tests and maps of the eyes. They also assess your personality to see if you will be a good candidate for a successful procedure.Bedside manner: Dr Everett explains options for your eyes. He is a very patient doctor willing to take the time to answer all questions. He gave me his recommendation and, after listening to him, I asked him to repeat everything he had just said. He said sure and patiently went through everything again.Results: I had my right eye done 1st with an AcrySol® IQ ReSTOR® +2.5 with ACTIVEFOCUS™ Optical Design lenses, then left eye 2 weeks later with a +3.0 lens. My vision is now 20/15 for distance and I can read tiny print (1/32") without glasses.Summary: I did a lot of research on ophthalmologists before selecting Dr. Everett and I wholeheartedly recommend him and his Henry Ford Ophthalmology staff. This is the guy and staff you want!Bonus: The staff are super competent, friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient.Footnote: I developed an inflammation in one eye 3 weeks after surgery. They were all over it. With treatment it healed without detriment to my vision.

Mani Veerappan: Dr. Haddad is a very good eye surgeon I received PRK 2 years ago. The follow up doctor was Dr. Radeo. I told Dr. Radeo I had issues with my eye feeling stuck to my eyelid in the morning everytime I saw him for follow ups. He prescribed me various drops and would always say ‘on the bright side you have 20/20 vision”. Dr. Radeo does not listen to his patients, but provides bandages to the problem rather than a real solution on. My issues with my eyes have got to the point that I have had severe pain when I wake up some days and erosion in my left eye. I saw a different eye doctor for a follow up recently and they said the layer that was healed did not heal properly and should have been reshaped two years ago during my follow up visits. I recommended my brother recently to Dr. Haddad for lasik, he’s a great doctor! I would be wary of the follow up appointments with Dr. Radeo, he does not listen to his patients concerns or take them seriously. There are risks with any surgery, but lack of care from a healthcare provider should not be one of those risks.

Justin Rieser: I came to Dr. Haddad through a series of glowing referrals, my wife being one of them. I’m also an OR nurse who works with eye surgeons. When I brought up that I was having a consult for SMILE I was told Dr. Haddad was one of, if not the best, in Michigan for lasik and smile. That really sealed the deal for me! The staff was very friendly, and day of the procedure I went in feeling anxious but was very relaxed when it came time for the actual surgery. Dr. Haddad has the experience and the best equipment, which is really what you want when having surgery on something as crucial as your eyes.

Laurene Reed: As a physician (an ER doc), and as a patient with exceptionally bad vision (severe near-sightedness and astigmatism requiring VERY thick glasses), Dr. Haddad is the only ophthalmologist I trusted to perform my surgery.I went to three different Laser Eye specialists in the area to get a feel for their teams. Laser Eye Institute was the only place that struck me as professional, trustworthy, and frankly, highly qualified. In fact, the employee who did my initial eye exam was OVERqualified- a working optometrist in the US but also had an ophthalmology degree from another country (New Zealand I think?).Unlike the other two locations, he and Dr. Haddad found a corneal ulcer scar in my left eye (from an infection I had as a teenager and I was not aware was still visible) which meant I should have a different type of surgery in that eye. If I had let one of the other places do the typical surgery, it likely would not have worked. To put it in the laymen’s terms as I understand it, the piece of the cornea that they remove with modern laser surgery would have gotten stuck when trying to slide it out, and at best, I would have had to undergo another surgery.They found this old ulcer using a modern machine that scans the cornea in high detail. The other offices did not use this machine, because they did not have one. When I asked Dr. Haddad how/why he had this machine, he admitted that he bought it himself because he felt it would be worth the expense over time.Obviously he was right.My surgery and recovery went exactly as they said it would.Amazingly, the cost was the SAME as the other two offices, around 4k. They had an impressive financing department so people can make whatever payments worked for us.Regarding the other offices in that area… I’ll just say that one office dilated my eyes without telling me what was happening… as in “look up, I’m going to place some eye drops”… then did it… no warning before the appointment so that I could arrange for someone to drive me home. At the other office, the only person who examined my eyes was an optometrist- which means that I would not have met my surgeon until moments before my surgery.Laser eye surgery is not a “simple procedure”, in my opinion. I recommend you select your surgeon carefully.Every person I know who went to LEI were just as impressed and satisfied as I was.In case you’re wondering, my Rx was -4 and -4.5 in my R and L eyes respectively. I had a left eye PRK procedure (this eye had the corneal ulcer scar) and right eye “LASEK” (modern version of the LASIK but with a flap for better healing).Best money I’ve ever spent.
