R Z: Very open to people not of Thai descent, hense English Night. I had no problem getting in the zone the location isn't on a busy road so it's very quiet for meditation. Theyre always giving away useful reading material to be used for later also. I need to go more often so I can have a stronger link to the Sangha. 💪🙏 I would love to meet with the resident monks too.

Venus Denson: If I could give this place minus multiple stars, I would. I ordered 2 sides of greens to go. They were "gritty" translation: Not cleaned worth sh%t!. Every bite was pure dirt! I ended up getting sick that entire night from a few fork fulls of those greens! I will NEVER eat there! If you can't clean greens. You are just plain lazy and a threat to the community!

S Ganesh: Avoid this place. The “Abbott” is full of himself. Japanese sword service is a bunch of “wannabe”s. As a person fromIndia, with deep knowledge of Buddhism, I found this place a misappropriation…very little to do with meditation or the middle path. You do not have to sing songs in English or change your names to be a Buddhist. Change comes from within….Acting Buddhist is not the same as practicing Buddhism :-)
Mark Zarate: Wonderful organization with very knowledgeable Dharma Students, Reverend Kogen, and the Abbot Hoden Sunim. Attractive facility with a sangha that is very friendly, welcoming, and approachable.Come to a Sunday sermon and feel the personal warmth from the folks there.

Luis Eduardo Gonzalez: I've been searching for a place to practice zen with like-minded people for a very long time. When I stepped into Dharma Gate Zen Center it felt like I've been attending it forever.
Nicolas DeMartinis: I went here for a comparative religions class and am so glad I did. From the outside it doesn't look like much and I even got lost trying to find the building. When you walk in you will be greeted with some of the nicest people and they will walk you through everything. It was one of the greatest hours in my life. The guided meditation is something I have never experienced and left feeling so calm and felt like I discovered a few things about myself. Can't recommend this place enough and I will be back.

John Negus: You wouldn't know it from outside but very nice inside. Calm, relaxing. I go mostly for recovery dharma meetings(substance and process addiction recovery meetings). Their Buddhist services and classes are good too

It really is a hidden refuge in metro Detroit. They don't charge for things. They ask for a suggested donation. Really great like-minded people to connect with in this community! Check it out!
