It's Your Birth Midwifery Services, LLC - Jenny Zaner, LM, CPM: what do users think?
Ana E: I switched from my OB/GYN office to Jenny around the time I hit 3rd trimester, and it was the best decision I could have made for myself and my baby! The amount of personal attention and care Jenny gives is amazing, and I went from feeling overwhelmed and pressured by my previous care providers to calm and empowered with Jenny. She took the time to thoroughly discuss every question and concern I had, not just at the initial appointment but every single time I saw her. She always made time to give me her full attention and never rushed me. She took the time to thoroughly discuss the evidence and pros/cons of various tests and options, so that I could make truly informed decisions. I felt empowered to make the right decisions for myself and my baby without pressure. It's hard for me to really trust care providers, but Jenny is someone I can trust implicitly. At my labor she was calm, reassuring, and when I got to the point where I felt I had no clue what I was doing, her calm, reassuring guidance was exactly what I needed!
Carly Jakstys: My experience with Jenny throughout my whole pregnancy, delivery and postpartum was excellent. Jenny is compassionate, knowledgeable, and provides informed consent with each medical decision. I felt totally comfortable having a homebirth with her and would choose her services again in a heartbeat!
Chenelle Larsh: Jenny is amazing! I transferred to her care at 20 weeks and it was the best decision I made! Jenny showed me what true informed consent looks like. Even during the newborn exam she talked to my son about everything she was going to do prior to doing it. She is very knowledgeable and presents all the information in an unbiased way. My home birth experience was better than I ever could have imagined. It was a true family experience and Jenny gave me the space to birth in a way that felt instinctual. I felt very supported during pregnancy, labor & delivery, and postpartum. If I get pregnant again I will without a doubt have Jenny as my midwife!
Abby S: Jenny is the best of the best! This was my 4th baby, but 1st home birth and first time with Jenny and she was more thorough than any provider I’ve had in the past. She is extremely caring, knowledgeable and highly skilled in her field. She was so helpful at empowering my husband and I to make choices that best fit our family. I’m so thankful for her care. I had the best birthing experience and she and her team were phenomenal in how they supported and cared for my whole family. I cannot recommend Jenny enough!
Emily Candela: We loved Jenny! She made our first home birth a wonderful experience. We were always very confident in her knowledge and skills.
Lauren Marie: If I could give Jenny 10 stars I would. We met Jenny at a home birth and I said to myself, if I ever have a baby I need this woman on my team. A few months later we hired her and it was the best decision we made. She cares about your overall well being, your nutrition, you mental health and keeping you a top priority. She is extremely professional, however I felt as though I was speaking to a friend during our appointments. She never judged me when I asked ridiculous questions and the actual birth went as planned because of her expertise. My birth wasn’t seamless, there were definitely some obstacles and I never once felt at risk or afraid because I knew Jenny would do what’s best for me and the baby. I highly recommend Jenny as a midwife to anyone considering homebirth or birthing at a birthing center.
Karla Sanchez: I have so much gratitude for Jenny and the rest of my birth team. I am so happy I went with my gut in having Jenny as our midwife. I felt so understood, cared for, supported and validated. This is what I needed during pregnancy and especially labor. Jenny's confidence transmitted to us and her professionalism is astounding. Prior to Jenny, I had not met a provider in my life who actually understood the woman's body and who was up to date on research from quality foods during pregnancy, labs, protocols and much more. I looked forward to going to my prenatal visits every time. Our visits never felt rushed. They were never 15 minutes like in the medical model. It felt personalized and welcoming.Jenny's intuition was right every time she needed to rule out some things. For me, having a homebirth was really important though I understood that a transfer could happen. I had some symptoms that needed to be ruled out for concerns and Jenny encouraged me to have a hospital consult to be safe before I went into labor. Thankfully everything was fine and I just had to monitor in case there were any changes. Her call on having the consult was a great idea because I actually had to go to the hospital after I had my homebirth for a third degree tear that was non-emergent but out of her scope. Thanks to the prior consult, I felt confident in going back to the hospital and knew where to go. It was not stressful because they had my information on file and they did not make me wait long. Jenny took care of calling the hospital for a heads up and they were expecting me.Jenny was so calm and patient during my labor. She respected our wishes and the golden hour with baby. As a first time mom, I am so grateful beyond words could ever explain. I had a wonderful experience even when everything did not go as I would have wanted it but nothing ever does. It is important to come in with an open mind and know that maybe the birth pool will not even be touched. Labor is unpredictable but having Jenny and my births team support gave me the strength I needed as a woman. The environment felt empowering.I feel that I can go on and on. I want to lastly mention that our postpartum visits were also amazing and needed during an intense hard transition after having a baby. We had more postpartum visits than what the medical model normally does. Jenny gave us a lot of resources to support us during postpartum. Without a doubt, I would choose Jenny all over again if I were to have another baby.
Linsey Renee: Jenny is a wonderful midwife! She’s there for you through it all and knows what to do for you in labor to get you to where you need to be to deliver!! She’s an asset; caring, supportive and informative to give you power in knowing to make your own decisions throughout your pregnancy.. She’s truly a gem for expectant families and you truly couldn’t ask for a better midwife!!
Saskia Schreiber: We had the most amazing experience in January with Jenny and her awesome Team. We welcomed our fourth baby into our family. Jenny and her team are like family, helping you whenever you need it, leaving you alone whenever you want it and all that while letting you being in control about your birth. We never felt anxious about anything, it was just a smooth amazing time. Everything was well organized and everybody knew what they had to do, no hectic or loud voices. It was just the most amazing birth I had after three natural hospital birth. They changed our lives for the good and especially the life of our little girl. The bonding with her three siblings is deep and pure. If I ever get pregnant again I know who to call! Thank you for everything Jenny!
Brittany Shanahan: This was our first pregnancy and prior to getting pregnant my husband and I talked extensively about home birth- being in the comfort of our home with the people we love and building a team that cares for us. We were so blessed to find Jenny (thank you instagram). She was our safe place, she listened to all of our questions, let us make every decision, gave options and education material, informed consent, and when it came to the birth of our daughter, her and Paige were nothing short of amazing! Our sweet baby girl was born on her due date! I felt comfortable, confident and empowered. My husband and I were able to labor exactly how we wanted, Jenny and Paige gave us space to let my body work and when I needed a little help Jenny was there with suggestions for new positions or the peanut ball (taking me from 5cm to 10cm in 45 minutes).. when it came to pushing I wasn’t coached, I wasn’t told to wait, I wasn’t told “not yet”. Jenny supported me in every capacity again letting my body do the work. Just as it was designed by God to do. After Eisley was born we had our magical golden hour right in bed, Delayed cord clamping, Brendan had skin to skin while our bath was prepared and Eisley and I got to bond even further in the herbal bath. Jenny helped with breast feeding/latching and different positions. Our room was cleaned all while we were soaking up newborn snuggles in bed.We felt supported, loved, cheered for, encouraged and just so thankful that God put Jenny in our lives. We can’t thank her and her team enough and can’t wait for the next time we get to have Jenny as our midwife.
Kelly Christiansen: Jenny and the birthing team from It’s your Birth Midwifery are truly amazing! Jenny is a very knowledgeable and caring provider that helps guide you and your partner through the most exciting and nerve racking time in your life. She is there to answer any and all questions. She provides individualized care. She is unique compared to the medical model. You are not just a number to Jenny. She takes her time to ensure you are confident every time you leave a visit. She will answer any question you have between visits as well. She takes the most natural approach for growing and birthing a baby. She helps bring the back the idea of growing, birthing and raising a child in the traditional and natural way that our mind, bodies, and spirits were made to do. My family was very fearful of my home birth. During labor a team of professional women came to my home with all the necessary medical equipment to help deliver my beautiful, healthy baby. The birthing team takes ever step very seriously with proper sterilization techniques, detailed charting, and constant communication with each other and my partner and I. The team is prepared for emergencies as well. I had the utmost trust that Jenny and the team would take care of us if things did not go as planned. After my natural birth, my family was in awe of how beautiful and peaceful the birth of my child was. My mom, who was the most fearful, said, “it was amazing, it felt like this was how birth was meant to happen. A community of women working together to help bring a beautiful child into this world. It was truly magical!” I used to work in the medical field. I learned that a vaginal hospital birth’s starting cost is $30,000. Now some people’s insurance will cover most of that, but that price does not include prenatal and postnatal care. Jenny’s price includes all your prenatal, birth, and 6 postnatal care visits. Your insurance should cover any tests that need to be done. She will even help get your insurance to approve a breast pump. Every women who has had a hospital birth has told me that the earliest they see their provider after birth is 6 weeks. By 6 weeks postpartum, I had seen Jenny 6 times with my newborn getting checked on as well. I’ve also been told by many women that they felt pressured into many interventions that they did not want and most were pressured into inductions way before they needed to be induced. Jenny does not do that. She lets your body do what it is supposed to do and only intervenes if 100% necessary. She also ensures that every time she is going to do something she gets consent. She ensures you feel comfortable with every touch and test, rather than just doing it. Continual consent can be very crucial to those that have had some trauma in life. Jenny is with you every step of the way to ensure you feel safe, confident, and informed about your birth. I’m excited to have my next baby just so I can work with Jenny again. I truly felt like I had a friend in my corner fighting for me to have the birth that I wanted. I promise you will not be on the fence about a home birth after your first visit with Jenny!
courtney willenberg: I cannot say enough wonderful things about Jenny and the services she provides. From the moment you become her client you feel genuinely cared for, seen, heard, and safe and that’s simply, because you are. Your appointments are tailored to you, as is your prenatal care because pregnancy is not one size fits all and Jenny recognizes and respects this. There is no topic that is off limits and there is no such thing as a dumb question. The decisions you make while under Jenny’s care will be made in full confidence as informed consent is one of her top priorities. She offers a higher than top notch service and she truly is invaluable. Jenny is as professional as she is personable and truly makes you feel like you’ve known her forever. She becomes part of your family in a very short period of time and it is truly hard to say either, “see you next time!” or “goodbye” to her at the end of it. Should I have another child, there is no other way for me to birth other than at home with Jenny and her team.It was an amazing experience all the way around. You won’t be disappointed in your decision!
Becky: It's easy to see how passionate and devoted Jenny is to what she does. She gives you the information you need to make the decision that is right for you and your family, without trying to scare you into doing one thing or another. She is great with the babies, even asking their permission and telling them everything she's doing for them.Amy and Paige (the backup midwives) were so sweet, thoughtful and helpful. They all have such a comforting presence.Choosing the homebirth path with Its Your Birth was the best choice i could have made for my family. I don't think my birth would have gone as smoothly as it did without Jenny and her team supporting me. She knew exactly what to do at every stage. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Jenny is amazing and we are so grateful we chose to homebirth.
Emily Andary: Having Jenny as our midwife was the absolute best decision we made. From the first time we met her, she made my husband and I feel listened to and cared for. She answered any and all questions we had. Her knowledge, experience, resources, and professionalism allowed us to feel confident in making informed decisions for our birth/baby. During my labor, her calming and peaceful presence was amazing. Having her care for me and my son postpartum was so comforting also. There are only positive things to say about Jenny. My home birth experience was such a dream come true and I hope more women get to experience it. We can’t wait to work with Jenny again in the future!
Kelsey Krumrey: Over half way through my pregnancy I started to question my original birth plan to deliver in a hospital after my provider seemed less than receptive to questions I had. A quick Google search and the practice’s name, It’s Your Birth, resonated with what I felt was previously lacking in my care, my ability to have choice. After meeting with Jenny for a consult I realized just how much I had been missing! Her knowledge, calming presence, and her practice of true informed consent was everything I didn’t even know I could have.Prenatal appointments were just as much informative as supportive, never rushed. Birth unfolded as naturally as possible and even with an unexpected transfer postpartum I felt informed and in control. And for postpartum care, I truly cannot imagine not having the early in-home visits! As a first time mom it was incredibly reassuring to know I had an appointment with Jenny just around the corner through those first six weeks for all those little questions that Google just seems to add confusion to.I feel so lucky to have had the experience I did as a first time mom and Jenny was a huge part in that!
Brianna Wright: Jenny is an amazing midwife! The entire pregnancy I felt listened to, cared for, and like I really mattered. This kind of care is hard to find and not to be treated as a number. During my labor and delivery she was such a peaceful presence and did not rush any moments. The postpartum care is incomparable to a hospital birth, as I have had. I felt like royalty and was treated with so much love and respect. I would recommend Jenny to anyone! Giving birth at home is an amazing experience I pray many more moms would be able to experience.
Melissa McMacken: Jenny Zaner from It's Your Birth Midwifery Services, is just simply amazing. She was by far the best provider I've ever had. Jenny actually cares about you and your baby and goes above and beyond for you both. During the homebirth of my baby girl Jenny and her team were amazing! I had the homebirth of my dreams and felt so supported throughout my entire pregnancy and birth. I am forever grateful to have had this experience and will definitely use Jenny's services again if/when I have another child. ❤
Brittany Cali: From the moment we met Jenny we knew she was the Midwife for us. She is professional, organized, full of knowledge, and just a great person to talk to. When you hire Jenny as your Midwife you will never feel rushed through your appointments. You will leave feeling informed, confident, and heard. She provides you with up-to-date evidence-based information to help you make informed decisions every step of the way. It is something incredibly special to have a care provider who genuinely cares about not just your physical health but your mental health as well. I highly recommend Jenny and will be forever grateful to have had her as my midwife.
Nile Tigress: From our first conversation, Jenny was amazing. She made me feel young and informed. She was super helpful and encouraging. I have never felt so empowered until I met her. She made my first home water birth with baby #4 an amazing experience. We love you Jenny Zaner!!! Always!!!!💕😘
francesca saracino: If you haven't chosen Jenny as your midwife already you need to -- NOW! Before I even got pregnant I was always very in to the idea of a home birth. Throw in a pandemic and it was a no brainer. As soon as we found out we were pregnant I was in talks with a different midwife (not Jenny) I had met about doing a home birth. Shortly after talking with her we had to change our direction. And I was left, at almost 15 weeks pregnant, without yet even hearing a heart beat. I was referred to It's Your Birth Midwifery and had an in person meeting with Jenny. Her attitude was so refreshing -- especially given the state of the world at the time. She was kind, informative and really listened to our wants for our birth. I immediately called my husband and told him THIS is our midwife. Fun fact: Jenny trained under the midwife that delivered my husband almost 34 years ago! All of my appointments with Jenny were in office, which was great! It allowed me to focus on me and my baby. Every time I met with her she would provide me resources and additional information on topics to help make the best decision for our family. Informed consent is a HUGE thing of mine and Jenny is the best at giving you all of the tools necessary to make your decision and offers an unbiased opinion. She was always there when I needed her even for a silly little first time mom worry. Flash forward to "labor day" and Jenny and her team helped make our home birth dreams come true! She knew what we wanted and did everything in her power to make it happen. It was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. But with the love and support of Jenny and her team (doula's Paige and Kelly and midwife assist Heather) I knew I was ready to do it all over again, and I will! Jenny is an incredible person and if you value informed consent, medical freedom, love and support I HIGLY recommend It's Your Birth Midwifery!
Chelsea Ahearn: From our first meeting with Jenny, we were truly impressed with her knowledge and comforting personality. I have never had a medical professional that was so passionate and knowledgeable about pregnancy/birth. My appointments were all about an hour long with detailed discussion about what was going on and future decisions that had to be made. She made sure we were informed and comfortable with all of our choices from testing to our birth plan. (As someone with some health anxiety I was amazed at how at peace I was with everything.) When it came time for birth she was the perfect amount of supportive but gave my husband and I space to let the birth unfold. I will forever be grateful that she helped bring our little man earth side in our home exactly the way I had always envisioned. If another baby is in our plans, she will be one of the first people we contact!

Women's Excellence in Midwifery: what do users think?
Stephanie Bogner: I cannot even express enough how grateful I am to the whole team here. Everyone has been pleasant, responsive, empathetic, and had the best listening ears I have ever experienced within an OBGYN care setting.I had a very complicated first pregnancy with a different office and team and had a lot of concerns and worries with my second pregnancy, due to my first experience. They made sure to cover ALL of the potential issues and spent a LOT of time answering my questions and addressing my concerns. This pregnancy also had some complications and they worked with me flawlessly to find positive solutions that I could work with while keeping my work/life balance and that would keep me and baby safe and healthy! When I had issues with my pharmacy filling scripts, concerns about something happening with my baby and body, or issues with billing (from a different facility, no less!) they responded to my concerns every time in less than 24 hours AND also resolved the issue.I can’t imagine going anywhere else for care at this point. Why would I ever want to?
Taralynn Schocke: Absolutely horrible. This is my first pregnancy and I was so excited about this appointment. I was super honest with the nurse about my medical history because now that I'm carrying a baby I want the best care for them. they told me they were unable to see me. For being honest, I felt like I was judged when all I wanted was care for my baby. I will never recommend them to anyone else I know nor will I support them.I called the manager Wednesday; 2 days after the appointment so I can cool down and it’s been a week now and still no response. This was the midwife building. Absolutely horrible and would not trust them to help take care of your pregnancy or the birth … they should be ashamedUpdate; this was from Jan & they never called back. I tell people all the time not to go there and I hear how bad they are. I’m thankful for my OBGYN now. This place needs to go out of business
Alex Leigh: Thank you Laura, for helping me deliver a healthy baby this past January (2017). She stuck by my side even when I had to have an emergency caesarean. I never felt unheard or uncared for with her, and was a bit sad to hear she doesn’t deliver anymore. I have tremendous respect for her, and will always recommend her by name.Very terrible experience with the midwife Amanda in my last pregnancy (2020). She cancelled or rescheduled three of my appointments in a row, she found them to be unnecessary, despite my usual risky pregnancies, and refused to acknowledge or listen to my concerns. She refused to answer any of my husband’s questions, just really bad energy. Her micro-aggressive tendencies were uncalled for. I felt completely unsafe with her delivering my baby, and refused appts plus delivering with her.I saw another reviewer mentioned her, and I could not agree more. However, as for Barb, she has always been a delight since my first visit in 2016.
R K: Do not trust these people! if you're a new patient thinking of getting involved, run far away!! They delete bad reviews. They are cold and uncaring. Amanda V should not be able to call herself a midwife and Barb should be embarrassed to be the "leader" of this place. They are all cold and uncaring and fake. They will force you out of the office when you're the only one there and say they're "too busy." They make rude unnecessary comments about your lifestyle.
Kylie Coury: I have to start off with saying that every person I’ve come into contact with here is an angel on this earth. The compassion, love of patients, gentle approach, open mindedness, communication, and so much more has made my pregnancy at Women’s Excellence in Midwifery absolutely stellar.I transferred during the beginning of my second pregnancy after being told I was depriving my unborn baby by breastfeeding my 8 month old daughter. My initial appointment experience was so careful and gentle in listening to how hurt I had been through that experience and in empowering me to continue to breastfeed as there were no safety concerns. We made it to 12 months on our journey thanks to their support, and are looking forward to welcoming a happy and healthy baby soon!Throughout this pregnancy, any concern or worry I’ve had has been met with kindness and understanding. I have not once felt unheard or unimportant. The time that everyone takes with you at your appointments is incredible - they celebrate the highs with you and hold you and support you through your lows. The knowledge and professionalism of the entire team is incredible. They go above and beyond while also making things easily understandable for patients. Some days, I’ve just needed someone to talk to or cry to and the ladies here step in like they’ve known you for your entire life. The care is there and the care is real.Again, you are all angels on this earth! I am so happy I found you and can’t thank you enough for how well you’ve treated me. I’m so excited to meet my baby but am also a little sad that our journey is coming to a close - I will miss seeing your smiling faces!
Jade Frederick: I just delivered my 2nd and last child and have been under the care of the midwifery team the whole experience. Leslie is the best nurse, always friendly and personable. I saw Amanda at each appointment and she is amazing. She is dedicated and professional, I made appointments specifically to see her. Kelly delivered my baby and was so patient and attentive! It was a beautiful experience. Thank you Lake Orion midwifery team for taking care of my family all these years!!
Aleea Henderson: Absolutely loved this place. All the midwives are great, MA's are wonderful and Patty was so pleasant. I was always comfortable there! Thank you for providing me with great service and a smooth birth.
Alexandra Leigh: Thank you for the healthy birth of my second child! I’m so grateful for the midwifery team, I was able to have the birth I wanted.
Sarah Clinansmith: I'm 30 weeks and this my 2nd pregnancy coming here to the midwives. The staff is wonderful and friendly. All my concerns and questions are always answered. My first pregnancy with my daughter went so well I can't imagine ever going anywhere else.
Laura Griffin: I am 40 weeks pregnant with my second child. I have been through Women's Excellence in Midwifery for both pregnancies. I have had a great experience and would highly recommend them!
Ashley Martin: I have been going to Womens Excellence since the beginning of my pregnancy, I am now 31 weeks. I have received great service. I would recommend this midwifery to anyone.
Haley Sims: Wonderful staff!!
A: I recently switched from the OB's at Women's Excellence to the Midwifery and I'm so glad I did. I had a pleasent experience with the OB's but I truly appreciate the more personalized level of care I receive with the midwives. So far, each midwife I have met is absolutely amazing and I can see how much their care about each one of their patients. I would highly recommend!
Caitlin Banas: Third baby is due today, I've always had wonderful experiences with the midwives and doctors at Women's Excellence.
Misty Ree: Beautiful people♡
Samantha Leeper: I absolutely adore my midwife and the other staff. I'm currently pregnant with my 3rd child and this will be the second one they will deliver. The midwives are much more personal than any other OB/GYN I've been to and show an attitude of truly caring for you and your baby. I've built a relationship and friendship with my midwife and it has been so great for me and my pregnancies. If you want a more natural birth, I highly recommend scheduling a visit here.
bridget brown: I have had years of the best experiences here (prenatal care and deliveries of two babies). Everyone is amazing!!

Nine Short Months Doula and Midwifery Service, Inc.: what do users think?
natalia gutierrez: Una pregunta, acepta pagos por medio del seguro ?
leisha kaiser: If I could give ten stars I would. They were extremely helpful, especially considering I gave birth during 2020. Anwsered every question I had before during even after the birth, professional, comforting, attentive, and available any time of day or night. Wendy is a really live super women. Also have to mention that the student midwife was so amazing I didn't even know she was in training. I've now had two baby with the help of their staff and recommend them highly.
Jennifer MasonRainey: As a birth doula and photographer, I've attended many births with my clients at Nine Short Months. They receive amazing care, are respected and listened to. Thank you for the work you do, we are lucky to have such a great birth center in this community!
Taylor Liggett: My experience here was a mixed bag.I had a wonderful birth experience here and I believe I received excellent care. We had a beautiful baby girl without unnecessary medical interventions in a calming and cozy environment. I am very grateful for that. I also really appreciated being called to check on my wellbeing post-birth. I came here late in my pregnancy due to COVID and not wanting to give birth in a hospital. Before switching my care to Nine Short Months, I had a lengthy conversation with Wendy, in which I felt she really listened and cared... unfortunately a rarity in the healthcare system (in my experience). There were some issues, mostly administrative. At my first in-person appointment with a midwife, the midwife told me she was nearly certain the baby was breech after palpitating the womb. My previous OBGYN had not had any fears of this and all my ultrasounds up to that point had been normal. The midwife told me this without consulting anyone else on staff. She recommended that I get another ultrasound, because if the baby was breech, they could not treat me at the center. So I paid out of pocket for the extra ultrasound, to find out (to my great relief) that everything was normal. I understand she was probably acting out of an abundance of caution, but I feel it caused me undue stress at a HIGHLY stressful time (March of 2020!).The main issue I had was that of obtaining a birth certificate. When the baby was born, we asked for the center to apply for a birth certificate. A midwife filled in the information while my husband told it to her. We left assuming it was all taken care of.Six weeks after the birth, we had not received a social security card. I called the birthing center to confirm that they did in fact apply for the birth certificate, and I was told absolutely yes. Worried it had gotten lost in the mail, I called social security. I was told by SS that if it had gotten lost in the mail, I would have to bring a copy of the baby's birth certificate to a SS office when they opened. So I ordered the birth certificate online through the state's vital records office (which is quite expensive). The vital records office called several days later to say that the birth certificate did not exist, and they advised me to call the birthing center to double check that they had applied for one.I called them again and they sincerely apologized, but it turned out they had NOT applied for the certificate. They took down my information again, and said they were submitting it to the records office.Several weeks later, the birth certificate finally arrived. Unfortunately, upon inspection, there were several major errors on it (errors that would surely prevent the baby from obtaining a SS card).I called to inform the center of the error, and they apologized again and fixed the errors. They said they were submitting a correction to the vital records office. They did not offer to cover the cost of ordering the faulty certificate (again, not a small sum). Before I ordered another birth certificate and paid another large fee, I wanted to double check that they correction had gone through to the state. So I called the birthing center to see if they could tell me the state had received the correction. Reception took a message and I was told I would get a call back. My call was never returned.I called again today (several weeks later), and calmly asked if they could confirm the correction. I was made to feel that I was being irrational, and it was implied that I was harassing the staff. I have never been rude, and have always given the benefit of the doubt. I was told that if the midwife said she submitted the correction, I should just believe it. But, given my history, I am reluctant to do that. I now just have to take it on faith that the birth certificate is correct, and pay for another one. At this point I have spent nearly $200 on birth certificates.I have never reviewed anything on Google, but was hurt by the implication that I was harassing the office. But, like most things in life, you have to take good with the bad.
Laura Gakstatter: "Sometimes the only thing that makes your pregnancy high risk is your choice of care provider."I am so grateful to have discovered Nine Short Months after becoming pregnant. Choosing care from them was one of the best decisions I've ever made. The team of midwives there took such great care of me throughout my pregnancy journey. As a first time mom, I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but it turned out to be the most beautiful journey. The women there feel like family to me and I will be eternally grateful to them for helping me to bring my beautiful, healthy daughter into this world. Thank you especially, Savannah, Emily and Wendy!!
Khurram Baig: Wendy is amazing, super supportive and knowledgeable.
H: Had a great experience with Wendy
Joseph Saferian: The most beautiful birth ever. Our third child and only Natural birth, and it was absolutely amazing. Wendy and her team were such a blessing to my wife and I. Our baby boy came out happy and healthy. Mom is great too!!!Thanks so much for a once in a lifetime experience!!
Donna McDuffie: As the grandmother of twins, Ilia And Eliza (born May 16, 2017), I highly recommend Wendy at Nine Short Months in the Village of Clarkston, Michigan. When my daughter told me she was planning a home water birth with a midwife I was excited and proud that she wanted to birth so naturally. I was also concerned because there are so many what-ifs with twins. My daughter's Obstetrician was adamant against the home birth and insisted on a C-Section whether or not the babies were in the correct position for vaginal delivery.Wendy was so gracious, answering all of my motherly concerns with her fount of knowledge. She was positive and confident, encouraging my daughter throughout her pregnancy. At 39 weeks Wendy recommended that they get to the hospital because of high blood pressure. During all of the discouragement and negativity from the Doctors and staff over delivery method, my daughter persevered. Wendy was with her all the way.Although the birth was at the hospital with induction and an epidural, the twins were born vaginally and absolutely perfect, weighing just over 6 pounds each!!! Living nearly 800 miles away, I was so pleased that my daughter had Wendy to talk to, to be encouraged by, to learn from, and to pray with.Thank you Wendy! God bless you and your mission to encouraged women to birth healthy babies, naturally.
Robert Lowrie: Our experience with Wendy and Nine Short Months was perfect. Her knowledge and confidence was clear from the beginning, and we always felt very comfortable under her care. My wife and I had twin girls, and most people/medical professionals like to classify ALL twin pregnancies as "high risk" (aka lots of unnecessary protocol). However, Wendy was always realistic and laid back. She kept us well informed and comfortable throughout the pregnancy and during labor.Wendy was ALWAYS (at least) two steps ahead of any doctors we consulted with. She always knew the positioning of our girls just by feeling, and the ultrasounds would confirm her accuracy. On multiple occasions, I witnessed medical professionals and technicians floored by Wendy's precision and overall familiarity with my wife's body/pregnancy/general health. There is no comparison between the personal, one-on-one prenatal care you receive with an awesome midwife vs. a typical experience with an obstetrician. For our family, Wendy will always be the first choice to deliver our babies, hands down.
Whitney Fritzinger: Wendy and her team are wonderful! I'm so grateful for her support and patience during my labor and delivery. She listened and respected my decisions around my body and my goals. After seeing hospital births, I am glad I did a home birth. There is no comparison, so much more love and respect.
nmbulat: Very caring and personable. Dedicated and so incredibly sweet. ❤
LiveWell Rochester: I highly recommend Wendy and her team. You will not find a group of midwives more committed to their service to families. Wendy, Jill and Courtney provided the most attentive prenatal care I have had in my three pregnancies. They truly cared for my whole family not just the baby and me. They are extremely knowledgeable, prepared, and calm all while making the family feel at ease. They never once rushed us through a prenatal visit and their fees are extremely fair for the highly valuable service they provide. I would entrust them with this most precious thing as bringing a new life into the world again and again!
C Trader: Wendy was on-call for my midwife who was out of town during the birth of my 3rd son. It was my second HBAC and labor was fairly quick. She made it in the very last minutes before he was born and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. She was everything I needed in a midwife then, not pushy, very hands-off like I wanted, and gentle. She came for my postpartum care and helped with some breastfeeding issues we had, and I always looked forward to her visits. She's knowledgable and caring and you can tell she loves what she does. I would, without a doubt, recommend her to anyone in search of a midwife. I won't ever forget our experience and I can truly say I'm glad she was able to share that with us.
E. G.: I have known Wendy 11 years now. She assisted as my doula through two challenging pregnancies that ended in healthy births and provided advice and comfort through one miscarriage. She is compassionate, honest, professional and highly committed. Truthfully, my doctors were highly impressed. One actually said she's the best midwife with whom he's ever worked!
ryanrachel wegner: We asolutely loved Wendy and her crew. She was on top of things, very thorough, perfect balance of natural but not afraid to tell you you might need to go to the hospital. (That was important to us because I had preeclampsia, it was a difficult situation to handle. But she handled it well. We were very pleased. And I've known of a few midwives that are scared of hospitals and will avoid them at all cost. She's not like that. She realizes that although being at home and doing it the natural way is best, sometimes there might be a time you need to go to thehospital. For emergencies. My husband and I felt at peace, she knows what she's doing. We trusted her judgement. I loved Wendy, Courtney and Jill. We will be using them again when I become pregnant. I also have a sister, and two friends who say the same things, they love her. Awesome midwife, awesome person!
Amy Hammer: I highly recommend Wendy and her staff for all of your birth needs. Her big heart and genuine care for others in general puts her in the perfect place of caring for expecting families and serving our country. She's an amazing woman & I'm proud to know her.
Nicole H: I met Wendy after a phone interview while I was on a cross country road trip. I was pregnant with my first child and after doing tons of research decided along with the help of my husband that a home birth was the best choice for me.Appointments with Wendy were fantastic. I felt like all of my concerns and questions were answered in a supportive environment. She never failed to leave me feeling important and like my pregnancy and my health mattered. She was attentive to us, and truly a friend and family member during the nine months and the postpartum time that followed my delivery.Thank you Wendy, for handling all of the ups and downs with us and being so amazing. My birth experience, while exhausting, will never be forgotten and remain a joyful memory for my husband and I for the rest of our lives. You truly are a guardian angel for all the mamas you assist through birth.
Heidi Annette: Wendy attended the births of two of my children (would have the third but we moved out of area). She is respectful, caring, patient, knowledgeable, and humble as a person and as a midwife. Our family felt secure in her care and experience. I would trust any member of her birth team because she trusts them. She took time to come to my father's funeral (3+years after our last birth together). The kind of person who draws people to them with radiating light, love, and compassion.
Elizabeth Smith: Wendy is amazing. I feel honored to have had her by side during the incredible birth of my first baby. Due to the circumstances of his high risk birth and eventual passing, I was greatly comforted by Wendy's presence and ever-loving support. When I say that my survival depended on her, it's a understatement. Her gift of delicious chicken enchiladas nourished us when we couldn't function to feed ourselves after the tremendous loss of our heart angel. Her kindness and love was present during the births of our rainbow babies, also. I highly recommend nine short months doula and midwifery services. I know if I had to do it all over again, I'd still choose the amazing Ms.Wendy to have by my side.
L VW: When I found out I was pregnant with my son, Niko, I was immediately faced with the "protocol" of the medical industry. I felt like I was being sold to left and right. Being as holistic as I am, this was not the path I envisioned for my pregnancy and delivery. I pictured spending the delivery of my first child batting off nurses who are forced to push things that aren't necessary. Through lots of research, and ugly crying, I found Wendy. She came highly recommend, not only by her previous clients, but also by a trusted friend who works in labor and delivery in one of the major hospitals. The first time I met Wendy, she sent a wave of calm over me. She was very attentive and thorough. Every visit made me feel more and more confident in myself and my body.Just as a side note, Wendy doesn't work alone. I was introduced to Dulas and Lactation Specialist; who's guidance was invaluable. My labor didn't go as planned. My son was as stubborn then as he is now. My strength was tested that day. I labored my son at 3:10 am after 42 hours of labor. There were moments when I felt like I could go any further. It was in those moments that the stregnth of my support team was paramount. Wendy and her team went above and beyond to not only push me through, but also keep my birth plan on track. My son was born happy and healthy! However, the support didn't stop there. Wendy continued to monitor me and my son post delivery. I also received a home visit from a Lactation specialist; who addressed all my concerns and offered advice in the comfort of my bedroom.
