The Salvation Army Family Store & Donation Center: what do users think?
Ice Refuarge: Clean and organized but older guy who checked me out was rude! Just asked a question, and he made a smart comment and then asked if I had change? After giving me my money back he yelled next when there was not even a line???
Misty Day: I used to love coming to this store, but today I had the worst interaction with a manager. Not sure of her name but she is black with dreadlocks- I came in to do a return for in store credit- for items that were just purchased on 4/15. I’ve done returns in the past but she tells me that I only have 3 days to make returns- never heard this before. She was very rude- would not work with me at all- people work! 3 days is ridiculous- I asked if I could just donate the items back- she said yes- but I needed to drive around the back of the store to do so- so I did and I was sure to let them know they’ve just lost a customer. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars at this store. NEVER AGAIN.
Linda Cortez: I never find anything im not paying almost top dollar for. The corporation is robbing people. Only 10% goes to help the needy. Top $ for given items ridiculous. Rip off.
R K: Are these prices serious? So many Dollar Tree items there over priced! I seen a candle holder from Dollar Tree for $4.50, one of those small kid activitie packs with mini-markers and a mini book for $2.99. Small Danity necklaces for $15.99, that you can find d at Wal-mart or Amazon for $8. You might as well go to Burlington, Wal-mart, Target, etc. There are no special finds here anymore. SO disappointing.
Amber Craven: Most over priced salvation army I've ever been in.
Randy B: Clean, very helpful staff, but the prices are getting ridiculous for secondhand merchandise.
Tom Drobny: All the employees are very nice and courteous there. They are nice and helpful. The store is clean.
Maelca Duncan (MAELCA): Big one , always giving 25% for Military everyday, they have lots stuff if u have patience to dig 🤔
Emily Trojanowski: Who in their right mind think they should be rude to a random toddler. Then passive aggressively speak about how you would punish the child if you were their parents. These kind of employees shouldn’t be allowed to work if they can’t act like a decent human being.
Alicia Otero: The prices are way too high. I could not believe what I was seeing. Target is cheaper.
helen brostek: Is there a city ordinance requiring that one enters the donation area of this Salvation Army at a specific direction. That’s what I was told. Hmmmmm…
Sara Jay: What is going on with your prices????? Your store gets all this stuff for free so why are you making the prices so ridiculously high that nobody wants to buy anything. I don’t care what it might be going for on eBay, you are not eBay you are a thrift store. Please start marking prices accordingly so people can afford it.
kay marie: We took a ton of amazing merchandise to the drop off at this location, and we were treated like an annoyance rather than shown any gratitude for our donations. A middle-aged aged, blonde-ish, chubby woman with glasses was very rude and snapped at us. Unacceptable 😡
Amanda Rose: Nice staff but clothing and house decor is sparce and outdated
jan giles: I love this store been going for years! Never had a problem 5 for 5 is my day lately no shoe in my size …. By this is my favorite store… Southfield is great to and the fitting rooms are open but limited at both stores the cashier was extremely nice and friendly Southfield has lots of shoes… all jewelry, shirt, handbag, and scarf belt from Southfield store
elana: There’s this old lady that works here that is so rude and disrespectful that whatever experience I have is always ruined. Every time my mother and I do the 5 for 5 sale on a Friday, she always claims one of the tags are switched on a piece of a clothing. It’s not our fault your fellow employees don’t know how to put or replace a tag on correctly. I mean isn’t that illegal to claim something like that?? Of course it’s a white old woman, maybe she’s just racist. She probably liked the clothes I took forever picking out and finding since whenever I see her not working she’s looking around for clothes with her coworkers.
Deborah Koss: Great day to find clothes for us! Kept looking at some furniture pieces...may be back?!
Mazhar Khan: I love this place. You can always find something worth buying.
Kalpana Krishnaswami: I just called this place and the women was really rude
E S: Since these rude employees refuse to wear their name badges, preventing customers from filing complaints against them, I will put them on blast here for future customers to see the scumbags they will be subjected to dealing with at this location. Unless these employees are criminals or convicts who were recently released from prison and are struggling to integrate back into society, there is no justifiable reason to employ such disrespectful employees who lack basic customer service skills. The claim of being short-staffed is equally inexcusable. The male cashier told me to control my crying child. Really? If you don’t like to hear a baby cry, consider playing music over the speaker to drown out his cries. The female cashier was so condescending towards the bilingual customers in front of me. And the prices at this location are absurdly high.
Robin Latshaw: Good deals on some items but I think The Salvation Army has gone corporate. The prices on some things are a joke!! You could go to Walmart and get the same but brand new!!

The Salvation Army Family Store & Donation Center: what do users think?
Scott Alan Blanchard: A very LARGE and nice Salvation Army store. Possibly the best store around locally.
Lexidahbest: My girlfriend bought 2 bears from here and found bugs in those bears. The bugs invested her room. She finally found out where the bugs were coming from. It was Atleast 2 months since she has had those bears. Wash your stuff animals and clothes. It’s disgusting. I loved this Salvation Army but now I don’t. (Edit: While trying to file a complaint, the staff was extremely rude, and kept interrupting me while i was trying to explain. She complained to me about how I was JUST filling a complaint even though the bugs weren’t super noticeable and there weren’t that many during the first week or so of having the stuffed animals)
Txxx Xxxx0xx: I bought comforters I was in there shopping for clothes. My experience was longer then I expected I had to wait in line. All of the registers were not being worked at. I used my patience though. I'll be giving you (whoever you are/a worker) a call later. Thanks for the last items and probably future.
Marie Q: This is a nice thrift store, large and spacious, clean and organized. I didn't see any items that seemed particularly overpriced. I wish I was in this area more often.
Lana Brohl: I love this place if you know how to look for deals you can find incredible ones here. Always a good experience I’ve found some crazy good deals like a 150-500$ snowboarding jacket for 17$!
Sarah Clare: All The Salvation Army charge too much for the free stuff they get. I really hate this store anymore. The attitude they have every time I'm in this store. This store has changed as well. Take newer pictures.
Courtney Salamon: If I wasn’t here asking you questions you wouldn’t have a job to pay your mortgage. I don’t appreciate being shushed off like a dog when I ask a question in line ready to give you my money. It’s even more disappointing being a retail manager at a busier larger store and watching two employees laugh and snicker that they can’t stop with cash. I didn’t ask you to stop, I asked a question and got shooed away. I asked for decent behavior to your customers. Two people move cash for security. That doesn’t have anything to do with saying “one second mam I’ll be right with you.” I’m a third of both those workers age and I would be appalled if anyone at my store did that. Tons of cute stuff! It’s a shame that it’s a zoo in there because work ethics is out and not cool. These workers were well over 60 years of age and they should ashamed. Great faces for charity. That’s why you’re there.
Avo Cado: They've started pricing things unreasonably high. For example, Walmart brand jeans from 2005? $15. For real?I've only ever seen one cashier and a line that goes all the way to the back of the store. Be prepared to wait an hour to buy anything and to see other workers who won't help with the line.Their hours changed and they're never open past 7pm now, even on the weekend.
A & B: They had a clean store with friendly staff.
Lon McClure: We decided to go into the store after dropping off a box of items we were done with. We found a nice metal vase for some lighted twigs that is perfect for the mantle. Disappointed that there were no current monitors as I could have used another HDMI monitor. All of the monitors (and there were lots of them) were VGA and/or DVI. On the other hand, I'll bet the newr monitors don't last a day before they are gone. Also noted that they don't accept exercise and handicap items any longer. Probably because of legal exposure.
Nicole Koss: Love this salvation army! Large selection and lots to choose from!
Ed Schneider: Nice selection, RUDE employees. And very very shifty.
Tedd Martin: I use thrift stores for book buying, it has a not so great collection, but on the other side their clothing is super big.
Paulette Simpson: Clean store workers no to friendly, cashier nice. Wow I can go to target ,Burlington or others for prices. Plain black no name sweatshirt $12.99. Looks like they have gotten greedy like several other businesses.
Hayden Jacob: This was a very frustrating experience. I went today to get some stuff for a spirit week costume at work. I picked out what I needed and went to the counter. At the counter I was told I couldn’t buy a vest because it was a 3piece set. I explained that there was no other pieces on the rack. I couldn’t even finish the sentence before being rudely cut off by the cashier. I explained again I would be happy to buy all 3 pieces but there wasn’t any other pieces. She went to speak to the manager and came back to tell me again I needed all 3 pieces. I asked if there was any employees who could help me either find the other pieces or verify that they were not there and was told no one could help me. I asked if the manager could come and help and was told she doesn’t leave her office. I left with no items and a huge disappointment. What kind of manager refuses to help a customer willing to buy. Ridiculous.
phyllis Spencer: I have not been to this store in a while it's not the same less stuff price is to high
C Wilton: I love their selection on CDs and books, the staff is wonderful, the lines are quick and I never leave empty-handed. 😊
B Charles: This location is very clean and the staff if friendly. I have found plenty of nice items while thrifting here!
Nancy Ogle: Great store to find treasures.
H K: This particular Salvation is way over-priced. Shame on them. All this stuff is given to them. You might as well go out and buy brand new.
Robin Latshaw: Great deals at this store!!! ❤❤❤
