ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation (Sterling Heights): what do users think?
Rhea Rodgers: This is such an amazing center! The staff is phenomenal! From the amazing coordination and warm spirit of the admissions director to the wonderful business office manager who always has a smile on her face. The manager on the east wing, Imani runs a tight ship and she does a beautiful job with all of her patients and staff! Thank you Optalis of Sterling Heights for caring so much for the patients we share.
Melissa Thurmond: It could be so much better then it is…. They just were bought out or somehow change ownership. Few issues like no microwaves to heat a loved one food that lives there……cold food all the time!! Lack of are is my issues. Especially is with a special nurse that just doesn’t care!!! Actually I caught three different nurses within 24hrs give me different stories on a 92 yr old. Needless to say her care is not being meet!! Is it possible that if they do move her to a hospital, they will be fined???! I suppose the hospitals and doctors office actually required effect from her. Now my mom has her and I really want her gone……she will be so dismissive and won’t help with any helpful steps for care...i will put a more on so an so computer...it was my day off. Or I just don't know and don't care......very thankful for Gracie and Moma!!!!!! Bless you too for truly caring ❤️❤️❤️
MrWallyrooster: Basically a dumping ground. This place is ghetto!Look at all the one-star reviews they have.Notice the same canned response from the owner about "unable to discuss due to patient confidentiality"...what a cop-out answer.FOLKS: DON'T CALL THEIR PATIENT CARE LINE...CALL THE STATE AND REPORT THEM
Monica Quigley: The social workers as well as nursing supervisor are non-responsive and rude. HIPAA is a distant thought.
Captain Phantom: Great welcome as soon as I walked into the facility upon entrance and during visit! New change in administration and looking forward to seeing amazing growth!
Keith Tiernan: Facility is in a good location and very well kept and clean!
Mary Sue Dinsmore: My sister has been here for over a week and mostly her care has been very good. Nicole from admissions is amazing! She is extremely efficient and kind. Each time I ask anything, she is on top of it! Her Nurses and aides are not only efficient but also very compassionate. And Sarah her OT has been wonderful. They all seem to be a great team trying to help her.
Barry Allen: My father in law just spent 12 days and had an awful experience. Cold food, minor portions, multiple days of no water being brought to the room. Wrongly given a diabetic menu when he is not a diabetic. Family given the wrong discharge date. Will not be considered as a rehab option any longer.
Leonard Lukomski: PROMEDICA or Optalis Health is understaffed. And the workers appear to be Untrained, Underpaid, and overworked. They are using unskilled workers to bring food, provide minimal care, and keep the patients quiet.I went there after open Heart Surgery for Rehab.T he O.T. Occupational therapist went over the same restrictions that I was given at Beaumont Hospital. No lifting. No pulling, Don't raise your hands over your head. Etc.The second day I pressed the call button. Two hours later someone came. Told me to get up myself. Call my wife if I need help because she is busy with other patients. And she is the only person working that hallway.. Maybe 50 patients. She didn't appear to be a trained professional.I explained this to the facility manager. The next thing I knew there was a transport Van to take me back to Beaumont. No warning about this. But Thank Goodness.I don't have much experience with this place but all bad.I recommend going elsewhere.
Lorra Roberts: No medicine for 3 days...was approved but pharmacy didnt send. Had to call 911 and leave heart issues and diabetes. Cant do no medicine. Troy beamont had them list as top but they worst. Do not send your loved one here!!!
Kathy Williamson: Beware. Most staff is nice however short staffed. Call light is lit for a long period of time before assistance responds. Same with bathroom Nurse asst had my mom lay on side to clean incision area which injured her and her progress went backward. Showers to be assisted twice a week. Only received one. 10 days after arriving we are back at the hospital. One plus is visiting anytime Prayers for my mom and all recovering
Char Sonnenberg: I wish there was a lower score I could give this horrendous place. My mother was there in the fall of 2022 for rehab. She received excellent care from Trouble on the first floor. She was walking up and down the hallway with her walker and almost ready to go home. Then she contracted Covid, was moved to an isolated room, quarantined and neglected for 10 days. She was visually and hearing impaired, and she wore a big button on her shirt to remind people of that fact. We constantly asked for an aide to help her eat, as she would accidentally knock her food off the tray as she couldn’t see what she was doing. No one ever helped her eat, and between the three of us, we’d try to visit around meal times so we could help. She was left to soil herself daily, and then they decided to put her in a diaper so they wouldn’t have to change her clothes. She fell in the bathroom trying to use it without help as she had pushed her call light and no one came. Of course, when I questioned them about the fall, I was told, “Oh, she slipped, but an aide caught her.” Yeah…right!!! She was found sitting in only a diaper while an aide ate Panera in her room. She was found sitting with food all over her, without pants on covered in a blanket, sitting right up in front of the heater because she was cold. Medication was found on the floor as they would hand it to her and walk away. (She was visually impaired, so if she dropped a pill, she’d never be able to find it.) Oh, and don’t ever try and call the nurses’ station as you’ll get the run around or no answer at all! I swear one night when I called up there a patient answered the phone! I could go on and on…I use the word “was” in my review because 2 months after being at Promedica, my mother passed away. She was never the same after she left that place. Her decline was definitely due to her lack of care there. My mother was a PERSON. A spunky, classy woman who, in her later years should’ve been treated as such! Not like garbage that could be tossed away! I will never forgive myself for not moving her out sooner.
Judy J.: Our experience so far has been on a positive note. However, I feel the need to share something. Our "LOVED ONE'S" light has been on for just about 20 minutes now. I work in a hospital setting, each and every patient, no matter if they are in my assignment or not, is EVERYONE'S responsibility. We have been waiting for some assistance to the restroom for what i feel has been a while now. Actually in OVERTIME! In turn I have stopped 2 assistants for some help to assist with this situation. Perhaps instead of answering back with, "I am going to find the aide for that patient", and since you have walked by 2 times already, and looks like you are wondering around aimlessly and even making eye contact with us, you could have resolved this issue on your own and probably pretty quick! Maybe adapting to the thought and belief that each and every patient in this facility is each and every worker's responsibility. (NO MATTER IF THEY ARE YOURS FOR THE DAY OR NOT) With that thought, the patients light may not of had to of been on for such a long length of time, and you could have PROBABLY of saved the patient from the stress and embarrassment of a accident, and in turn this makes for a much happier patient and will save their skin from possible issues down the road. Working TOGETHER makes for a smooth running day, and a positive work environment that shows that your there not only for the patient but, to also help your coworkers and be a team player as well!
Katie Olesky: My dad arrived at ProMedica Tuesday Feb 7th 2023 from an 8-day hospital stay for a fall, broken ribs and wound/infection. He is getting rehab so he can get back to assisted living place. He is still under their care. So far, he has been kept safe, clean and dry and fed. He's required a great deal of assistance with toileting and cleaning himself as 8 days in the hospital at age 81 and an amputation have left him virtually unable to do anything that requires him to get up and out of bed on his own.The OT and PT staff and nurses have just been beyond awesome to him and in caring for him. I go see him twice a day and I vary the times I go - and so far I've seen nothing but caring -dedicated people doing their jobs efficiently with positive attitudes and genuine care for their patients.Today - a specialty wound care nurse and assistant came in and gave my dad wound care.Dad says the food is a step above hospital food but is never hot. I remind dad he's 81 and a lot of the folks there would hurt themselves if the food were too hot. It's warm when it arrives and more editable than a hospital so let's not FIND things to complain about.I will post another review mid stay and a final review once he is returning to his regular senior living - assisted living home but so far after 4 days - I am honestly baffled at what other reviewers have put out there. Perhaps those are old reviews when it was owned by another company?
Nemu Chowdhury: Abysmal. The nurses are so inattentive that we had to argue with them to get my dad help. He was dehydrated and malnourished with corona virus. The ambulance had to test him
Denise In Peace: i’m left alone paralyzed from a stroke and angry underpaid under staffed workers barely show up for work do not come in here!!!! constantly screaming residents crying for help my kids have to come in here so i get clean clothes food supplies and changed don’t even think about it the showers are always broken the internet and cable is not working most day’s most aids chitchat and gripe instead of working when you need them they fly off the handle it may be in a newer area but all i hear is cars hot rods and motorcycles roaring by constantly flying down the road i don’t like it
Dennis Tomlinson: Don't send your DOG here. My wife was a resident for 4 days. My wife had acute myeloid leukemia and they missed her blood transfusion appointments and missed medication. We pulled her out and went to U OF M emergency as she was critical.
Doreatha Davis: I would recommend this place to friends and family the staff is excellent they made my stay great they made me feel like family, I met some very nice people here from my aids to my nurses even the cleaning crew was great this place is very clean and friendly all three shifts
Lucy Clark: my mother just fell out of the bed trying to reach a pillow that dropped from her bed...im saying this to say they need better beds. told me they dont carry them hospital beds...like why yall don't?
Jai J: I want to acknowledge two of my favorite nurses Imani and Irene when I say these ladies rock they’re very knowledgeable, helpful, caring their leadership is amazing.
William Groeller: Good nursing home. Conveniently located at Utica and Schoenherr.

Medilodge of Sterling Heights: what do users think?
Grace Willis: I just had an awesome interview for a nursing position. From the moment I entered the building I was greeted by the friendliest receptionist. My interview made me feel so welcomed. I toured the facility and I was impressed with all the services they have to offer. I feel like part of the family already. I can't wait to start my new job and this new journey.
Erica Liebler: The staff is great lovethem
Kathy Smith: Everyone was very helpful and polite.Very clean place!!!
Emily Boyd: Please don't take anyone you love there, noncaring works. Doctors with bad attitudes as well as CNA's. My Mother had back surgery and wasn't treated with care. She was the only one in her area and you would think she would have been well taken care of, not so they were horrible. She was hanging out the bed with vomit on her and no on answered the buzzer.
Linda nelson: HELP GET ME OUT OF THIS PLACE. I AM AFRAID THEY WILL KILL ME. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE. I AM HERE NOW. 4/23 THEY ARE MEAN. My Roommate waited 2 hours in soiled clothes VERY VERY Scary.. 5/2 They are so cruel Shame on this place. The evidence I have will prove it.
Rachel Roberts: How is this place still open? The lack of care and compassion their staff has for the patients/residents is sickening. This place smells and is not clean at all. Staff ignores call lights and even residents screaming for hours for help and a nurse. For the staff to be standing in the hall laughing together. Seems like the staff is there for a paycheck not to actually help. They act like the residents are a nuisance or interrupting their day and conversations when they need help. Do better! Hire people that actually want to do their job and help others. Because right now it appears your cna’s/aids do not care about the people living there.
Toni Merkle: We visit our Cousin and Want To Thank Ed Who Cares For Him!!! Your Facility Is Blessed To Have Him Working For You!!! God Bless
Pattie Vandling: Clean building, friendly, helpful staff!! A+++

Your Reflection: The staff in the memory care unit are awesome and very caring.
Carolyn Sockwell: My interviewer unit 5 manager was not only informative but inspiring.
James Pegg: The whole staff is just great never had I had any problem with any of them all so helpful and friendly. Jim
Tina Korri: Amazing care giver tour and was very informative made me feel I made a great decision for his care.
s kent: It's like trying to get into the Pentagon they had a computer ask for my life story and everything else it's craziness
Debbie Johnson: The nursing staff and everyone I have talked to has been so nice. Takes awesome care of my mom. So far she has been here 1 day an I'm very happy I picked this place for her rehabilitation

Stefania Yacob: my grandmother was recently discharged from lakeside manor, the experience was great overall from beginning to end, staff was very helpful and very friendly… the new management is great and are doing amazing!!! felt comfortable and very welcoming
Drew Clark: Don’t send your family here! Extreme medical malpractice, has been investigated, and has many allegations against them. If I could give negative stars I would. Literally dropped my uncle and broke his shoulder then didn’t document it or get him medical attention. He later died due to these injuries.
Marah-Lynn Daniels: Don’t go to this place I just went to the hospital to get a fully catheter cause no one was helping me with my bladder retention there, came back all staff saying I don’t meet their care took my room away and sent me back to the hospital to look for new rehab. I loved the OT/PT bumbed how they let me go as I was just here a few days and only 21 years old trying to get stronger. Staffs are disrespectful besides OT/PT lucky 1 star was a option
Allison Halfyard: I recently was discharged after spending 3 months in here for rehab after a stroke. It's very very clean, the staff was wonderful, meds passed on time. The therapy team was amazing and never let me skip a day. The older reviews were under old management. The only downfall of this place was the food. But all you have to do is ask for something different to eat if you don't like what they serve. I had people knowing my name that I hadn't met before. If I ever have to go to a rehab facility it will definitely be Lakeside Manor. I actually miss some of the staff and made a few good friends there.
Christine Granger: I love the building and I like how how everything is in shape. When I started residing here it was kind of boring but new management came and everything started improving. The nurses and CNAs are are very kind and helpful. Activities are always keeping you busy with games and movies so it's very wonderful here. The staff is very kind to you and will help you when you need it. Dietary will accommodate to what you would like to eat, it's very good.
Jayla Veillon: Has new management and they are an amazing team of people who are offering the best possible care to residents. Would recommend this facility to anyone looking for a place for a family member.
Joseph Veillon: I have personal experience with the new management and they are doing a fantastic job. Highly recommended
T Dunning: My mother has been here for a few weeks and could not be happier. They are under new management and are super friendly. If I could give 10 stars I would!! So happy to have found this place and Mom is going great with rehab and loves being there. Thank you!!!

NAJAT KINA: I’m thankful and grateful to all the staff of Pomeroy living. They are helpful and work hard people I know that because I always visit my husband there .im thankful to the Aids and nurses especially Swapna Thomas in saint Clair unit and the manager Lisa in the same unit i saw both of them doing the job of aids also im grateful to the activity people may our bless them all and keep them safe
patricia thornton: The PT is great and so are most of the help.It gets far to hot in the building in the afternoon. I paid for a private room and still the conditions persist. No shower lady no shower for days. The room does not get cleaned regularly and dirty linen is left on the floor. The food is horrible, chicken leg with cranberries and a scoop of rice for dinner. What a disappointment!
